    I appreciate you starting with your Pilots. I'm definitely a Pilot fan-girl. I don't have a 912. Someday, maybe.

Also a pilot fangirl here! My modified 912 is like my end all be all pen as far as perfect writers. I dont think something will ever come close to how good it feels to write with, which is sad since it’s only in black in north america to my knowledge!

I really love the look of the Custom 912. I think it is fabulous writer. I use Organic studios Henry David Thoreau Walden in it and love the way it looks. That is one of my favorite inks. Love your videos so far. Keep it up.

Dude!!! Stay away from my Organic Studios inks, I can't get enough of them LOL!!! Most of the time they are out of stock. They don't make enough of this brand.

I appreciate the years later re-reviews. This pen has always been on my list to check out from your previous videos. I just bought one last night that someone is selling from their collection with a soft/fine nib. This will be my first Pilot so I’m excited to try it out.

I bought the Custom 912 and installed the new ebonite feed about six months ago, and the pen hard started for me. Glad you made this video because it reminded me go look up instructions on how to properly install the new feed (Flexible Nib Factory has them posted)! I found that I'd made a mistake. There's a clear washer that's supposed to go around the end of the feed, and mine was still stuck in the pen. 10 minutes later and the pen writes like a dream. So thanks for the reminder to do a little research and get my pen writing! :) Also thanks for the original recommendation to buy this pen!

I am using a Pilot 912 with the two slit custom feed (this set up has no feed issues and railroading problems). And I had the "Doodlebud" modification by Josh Lax done to the FA nib. This set up will give you outstanding contrast between thin (they are very thin) and wide lines, but it takes getting used to the scratchy nature of the writing. But when done, the writings from this pen is as good as any flex pen available (including the rather expensive Magna Carta flex pen). But be warned when using any flex pen you need to slow down a lot which makes writing a little more challenging when you mix flex pen technique with writing slowly. But the lettering is outstanding!!!!!!!!!!

Hello from Dorothy in Oz (Aus) . Ex, creator, long time viewer, but only just subscribed now... love your channel. I admit to being a Pilot nut and have two 912s ... 1 plastic feed permanently inked in a wet Pilot black, and one in variuos colours -with an ebonite feed. I changed to that ebonite feed after your two (?) videos - but I chose the 2 channel feed because your 3 channel looked like the Trevi fountain to me! Ha ha, I'm not that brave. Even the 2 channel is a hose! What a whacky experience for you on this post! So hard to figure out. Thanks for your channel.

I love my Pilot 912 with the PO nib. It's only had Noodler's Texas Black Bat ink in it. It writes great! I took the tag off of mine, but it doesn't matter to me if others leave it on their pen. I really don't know why anyone would care if you left your tag on your pen or not. Seems to me like a pretty petty thing for someone to complain about.

I love my 912. I got the two-slit feed. I also love Writer's Blood, though I put it in my Retro 51 Harriet Tubman. Since I use my 912 for sketching, I always fill it with DeAtramentis Document ink, usually Urban Grey.

One of the many Pilot pens I don’t have, but would love to have. I do have the Pilot 743 with the Falcon nib. It works very well with the plastic feed. I don’t know if this is true for most of this model. Darn, oh darn it. I guess I had better buy the Verdigris color to compare and learn how to spell Virdegras. My true decision is to buy it before or after my second 823. What a first world problem to have.

Kerri, I agree with your comment’s. I purchased mine from a Japan reseller and after looking at other reviewers’ comments, I realized that in ordering from Japan, their feeds are geared for their writing style’s and not “flowie-Western” cursive. Therefore, my feed was dry and didn’t keep up. I solved it similarly as you, with a two slit style instead. My “FA” nib is super sensitive and flexes at the lightest pressure. But I use it only occasionally, as I’m a Left-Overhand Fountain Pen writer. Flex nibs are a huge challenge for me. But I do recommend 👍 this for any Right-hander wanting a nice flex writer for their collection.

Interesting re-review. I already have a 912 with a Waverly nib that I'm enjoying a lot. Maybe later on I'll think about changing the nib and feed to an FA, but for now I'm working on a different pen to get going with a flex nib.

Maybe leaving the sticker on is a subconscious thing that you leave open the possibility of someday having more than one pilot 912 pen and would want to differentiate from the outside which is which (knowing the dearth of barrel color options)?
What was the original pilot 912 feed like? Drier than other pilot pens or the same?

I have the 2 slit red ebonite from nibsmith to address really bad railroading on the stock feed tried 2 wet inks. It still can railroad p... de Lune jherbin currently inked. I think its more a me issue as I write fast print on slick paper which fast cursive seems wet and consistent. I need to test more paper due to the light touch. The nib is super soft and flexible and I do tend to like stiff and fine nibs. You certainly need a light touch but enough for the ink to pull to the page. Sometimes I dont know why the stroke didnt ink its not a skipping its at the start of the stroke and can be a middle of a hashing test and certainly middle of a printed writing using consistent pressure.

@@ina_lina I did have good luck with a Twsbi Go 1.1 nib. But about half way through the fill, it started to hard start. Not sure if that was due to the ink though, since that is an issue I experience with all of my twsbi pens.

SORRY TO SAY THIS, BUT U'RE WRONG !
FPR JAIPUR V2 JUST WITH THE STEEL ULTRAFLEX NIB IS WETTER THAN UR PEN, AND THE GOLD VERSION IS CURRENTLY THE BEST FLEX NIB IN THE MARKET.
U SHOULD GIVE IT A TRY AND A REVIEW ;)
