Thank you for this com, my chinchila died Like a 1 hour ago ale my other chinchila is making some sad sounds and trying to found the other chinchila and i think if i would have let this would be hear by her it would be even worse
I love all the baby sounds. Also it's good there's another video that shows actually chirping on UA-cam, found that there's a huge lack of them and the ones there are, are actually chinchilla barking which isn't good for new chinchilla owners
Ok so I adopted a chinchilla almost 3 weeks ago. He is out a lot as I have the ability to let him be. Last night he was sniffing my face in my sleep as usual, and then he started cleaning my eye lashes, and then made his FIRST NOISE in over two weeks! He's NEVER made ANY noise. Last night he sounded like THAT! Regular chirping and baby noises, even though he's about a year old. Was he happy? Nervous? I was just sleeping and he seemed calm. I thought he was sick for a second because I'm familiar with rats and it sounded like when rats get the sniffles. He seriously has been soooooo quiet. So I got scared when he was making noises, but he seemed perfectly happy, and he kept grooming me, even after I stopped him in my concern of his noises. He was insistent that he clean my eyelashes. IT WAS SO GENTLE! I mean those are my EYEBALLS and I never thought he was going to nip me. I seriously am gonna die that was so cute. AND THIS CHINCHILLA was neglected! Abandoned and neglected. I can't even with his face.
My boy chin really gets to squeaking when he's running on his saucer wheel. It's usually an indication that he's going to allow me to lift him (while running) from his wheel and go for a dust bath. It's a high-pitched, bat-like chirp/clicking sound. I have always taken this as a joyful, fun sound. Momma chin squeaks a lot. She's the most vocal. Both freak out listening to this video.
My first chinchilla was very vocal he was a boy.wee paris my wee three year old isnt, she will alarm bark on occassion.if next doors dog barking .and chirps away as shes so tame she does this when jumping on us .i brought this up with vet he said not to worry as they all got their own personalitys.was her birthday 10th of sept and we had we gift bags with toys in it.i love this wee girl to bits .i loved lewis but honest wee paris is the greatest natured wee thing ever.we are so blessed to have her.love all your tips and all your wee furbabys are beautiful.even our vet said paris is def a one off shes bold for a chinchilla and sooo friendly xxx
Mine never made the gobbling sound...but in the same voice, he honked like a bike horn. I feel like someone was trying to be funny and superimposed turkey noises into this😂😂😂 The gobble sound made me laugh so hard, I had tears!!😂
Oh yay u did the gobbling sound I asked u abt a few months ago!!! Lol mine does it at nite usually when Im not able to let them out if something came up
Only a few of mine make this sound , it has taken me ages to record it. I had to leave my camera on in the chinchilla room every day for a few weeks to get it. A few people have left comments on my other chinchilla sounds videos saying their chinchilla makes a weird sound like a goose gobble and I have had to say to them I know the sound they are talking about but can never get it on camera.
You have the best chinchilla sound compilations. My boy Teddy is generallya very happy boy, and will always make the happy/excited squeakd when I come around. For some reason though, he's started to make a lot of the baby chinchilla sounds when he snuggles inside of a large pocket in my sweatshirt (I've had him for a year and a half now, and he's been with me almost his entire life). Is this a good sign? Other than that, he bahaves the same as he always did, other than wanting to mark his territory whenever I sweep up his poops, haha.
In the middle of her sleep, one of my chinchillas just randomly starts alarm barking. She does this about every other night But nothing ever appears to be wrong when I check on her. Is she having night terrors? Also, that squeaking sound that you said females can make when giving birth... is something my chinchilla frequently makes in her sleep. She's just a baby so I doubt it's birth giving. Do you think she might be dreaming or talking in her sleep?
Hi yes they can have bad dreams and make some very odd sounds. The squaeking thing is quite common in younger chinchillas . If she is on her own she maybe calling out for other chinchillas 🙂
You probably already got the answer to this as you asked 8 months ago haha, but for anyone else wondering it's usually like a "I'm not mad but I'd prefer if you would go away" type of thing
@emmag6954 yea I guess it's also just a sign they're upset, I've heard my female whine like a puppy one time when I put her away before her sister since her sister was being a duce
Hi, I bought a 3 month old male chinchilla a few days ago and a worker told me I could only get 1 male because they will fight when they get older, but everywhere I’ve looked says they typically do better in same sex pairs, so would you suggest I go back and get his brother or leave him alone?
If you want another chinchilla I'd go back 🙂 males can be kept fine together I have several groups of males and 2 brothers that have grown up together should be fine. However some chinchillas can fight regardless of sex so you always have to be prepared to house them separately if needs be. But it's less likely when they have been bonded at a young age, I actually have more trouble with fighting with mixed pairs than I do with single sexed pairings. I am actually working on another chinchilla myths video that covers this a little at the moment , it should be out later today hopefully 🙂
My chinchilla has a small piece of dried chewing gum stuck in his fur, and my friend was trying to cut his fur to get it out but I don't think it's the right thing do you maybe have any suggestions on how I can get it out? Thanks
Pressing an ice cube gently on the gum will help! This happened to me once and the vet reccomended that to me😄! Just be careful not to wet the fur much!!
I recently got a chinchilla and it’s made a warning noise towards me and bit me watching this video I now know it was meaning “leave me alone” but I want to build its trust being a new human to her knowing she can trust me since I’m the only one she’s gonna be around till she dies. Any tips or advise? It would be very very very appreciated!
Spend time around her cage so that she gets used to you . Also sit with her when she has playtime, it's a great way for your chinchilla to interact with you on her terms. I have a video on how to tame/bond with a chinchills 🙂
I have turned volume up on some of them, but alarm bark, screaming/crying, hiccuping are loud. It actually gets owners a little worried first time they hear them. Luckily they don't make these sounds to often, majority of the sounds they make are quiet.
thank you so much. my chinchilla makes the alarm sounds everytime i put her back in her pen, and I assume she's just angry? she bangs on the front and glares at me. at first i was worried she had eaten something and was choking but she seems fine, so I don't know. thanks
Made the mistake of having this play in the same room as my chins. They're still trying to find the other chinchillas XD

I wish I had a better mic, I had to put volume up to the max, just so it could be heard but it increased all the background noise.
@@AllysAnimalAntics honestly if you wanted you could have used the audio of Picchu chirping.

Hey, if your chinchillas are doing high pitch squeaking then it might be causing them stress.
Make sure they aren't alarm barking.
3:46 My chin makes this sound pretty often when i scratch him. I was pretty worried because I couldnt find anything about it so thanks!

This was helpful as I'm getting an chinchilla in 4 days tysm 💕
So cute! Wish my chin would gobble like a turkey! 😆
Chinchilla's barking alarm is so loudly and noisy the one leaving in the cage.
That is the cutest hiccup

Baby sounds sometimes means contentment, so its normally a good sign. Some chinchillas never grow out of those baby sounds 🙂
@@AllysAnimalAntics Aww, that's actually adorable. Good to know, thank you. 😊
My chinchila has got hicupping every night
My chinchilla digs listening to the sounds thanks
My chin sneezes a lot while my others dont and they are in similar cage and interior

@Apple Therapy do you mimic chinchilla noises to her or just talk normally?
