Saw him when I was in High School here in Portland Maine sometime around 1972 or 73. Unbelievable concert, I learmed the song "Loving You Crossed My MInd" and 38 years later I still play and sing it on my guitar all the time. This guy was GREAT!!!

I met Sam in a bar in Montana..he was singing with a band from Texas. We spent time together. He took his insulin shots...and I didn't think he should be drinking..but he was about 27 then. Great singer!

Thank You, for posting this real treasure of a tune.
There are certain songs, that hit a core of truth, that can't be denied. I don't think there is a "Boomer", that at some level couldn't embrace the bigger message of these lyrics. From the "Sky is the limit", "Shoot for the Stars", dreams, and promises of our "Jet-Age" youth, to the pale hallow, broke, and looted, post "Golden Age America" reality, most are waking up to., Will

@RIDETHESUNSHINE This clip was sent to me by a woman, who is a blessing to my life. Who has survived her entire life, by only looking at possibilities, and not wasting any time, or effort, on impossibilities. A true spirit of what made this country great! If there is a mountain in her way, she'll go over it! If not, she'll go around it, bore through, or need be, she'll tunnel under it!!! But, she will get past it! I Love Her, Like No Other, and will,Forever, Will

Excellent video! Certainly would love to see a video of Sam singing "Loving You Just Crossed My Mind" -- his best song, and still played here regularly.
