mike sounds like he never left! they really gotta help james they gotta do a set list that lets him warm up and not start with stuff at the top of his range. i watched other songs from the show his higher notes start opening up but you gotta let singers start with songs that are in their sweet spot even if they warm up before. you don’t start a marathon running as fast as you can. also he’s 61!! if they tune down all the images/awake stuff a half or whole step no one will care!!! maybe a few internet trolls but screw them haha

Labrie has been struggling for a while and it’s getting worse. When I saw them on the last tour, it took them about halfway through the show for the struggle to be noticeable. But now he’s struggling from the very first song. Yikes.
James still sounds great on record and he's such a part of the Dream Theater DNA, I don't him to go anywhere. He needs some serious backing vocal support on that stage. Somebody who can shadow his performance and let rip where necessary. The band are entering the twilight period of their career, keep the family together but fix what is a clear and practical problem.
I was hoping La Brie wouldn't ruin it but here we are. Love the band but something must be done. I'm glad I didn't buy tickets for the Cleveland concert. What a disappointment.
I felt a bit torn when tickets for this show went on sale. On the one hand, I wanted to see portnoy back in the band, but on the other hand, listening to James labrie live is painful! I stayed home and this video confirms that was the right choice 🤣
Unfortunately that was deciding factor when seeing Rush in their later years. Geddy's voice became painful to listen to. Glad I saw both bands multiple times in their prime for alot less 💰 .

You can make all kinds of excuses for James singing, but the truth is, this is the first show, the first song of the tour, and he sounds terrible. Footage from Munich shows the same. There is some problem, but these things should have been known before the tour.

James is toast...I know he normally warms up through the night, but this is really sad. Seeing them in February and can't wait! Lol...

and it wont get any better with time sadly, i mean, its not even a question of liking his voice or not, just aging....

They really need a new singer. I love Labrie on wax, but the dude has lost his voice. Everything was great...until the butchered vocals.
