Very enjoyable, And.... most interesting are the conversations and opinions between "StevePB" and "johnathanmard". Arthur Lowe was ill towards the end of the series and some of his slurred words were wrongly assumed to be because he was drunk. Which was definitely not the case.
There is no way Captain would let Sgt Wilson be an officer instead of him - he is so jealous anyway !! and he sounds like a constipated bull ! Wonderful script. Thank you !!
That's true. Look at how he reacted when he couldn't play the part of a German officer in the episode Ring Dem Bells season 8 episode 1. Mainwaring has always resented Wilson and always took every opportunity to put him down and make him know who's in charge.
@@Steve_P_B . . . In wartime I presume ALL facts have to be found as Hitler and his lot must have been as pretentiously 'superior' as Wilson if their 'codes' were so easily analysed by a pillow-biter . . ! If there were 80 episodes over 9 series and 'ten seconds from now' is listed as 'episode 67 of series 3' - then that inaccurate 'heading' suggests to an average listener/viewer that the other 13 episodes had to have been split between 8 other series - with 4 series having only 2 episodes and of the remaining 4 series , 3 having one and a half episodes with a mere half an episode in series 8 . . . and the '10 seconds from now' title isn't in wikipedea the list of all episodes . . . any 'facts right' answer to that . . ?
@@jonathanmallard3965 firstly, this wasn't written and recorded during wartime, it was made in the 60s-70s. I got my information that the series went for 9 seasons from the simple fact that I have the entire series on DVD. When it talks about series 3 episode 67, it's talking about the audio recordings. Many of the earlier episodes are missing presumed deleted.

@@Steve_P_B Get your facts right boy - they wouldn't have lived long enough to reach series 8 . . .
