      I asked Tim what was his favorite bass line to play with Dance Gavin Dance back in 2018. He said it was the Robot with Human Hair pt 3.

    I'm in two minds about this as well. I've been a huge DGD fan for about 4 years now and listen to them every day and all that. When I heard they were playing I was curious to see how it would've panned out. - As a UK fan who is quite disconnected from being able to see them live or speaking to people who are fans, I feel that i don't have the same insight and almost have 'imposter' syndrome sometimes.
    I think Tilian is a very passionate and emotional guy, you can tell that by his live performances and it is obviously shit about the news of Tim and we're all pretty devo from it. When trying to sing you need to convey that emotional and passion and that's why he broke down more than the others, I don't think he ever thought he'd get through the set, no one did, but it showed bollocks to play the gig still for the fans.
    Now, my thoughts were 'is it too soon?' personally, I think it was too soon, but I 100% understand why they did it and would not be annoyed if I was there at the gig listening. Noone can expect it to be the best 'performance' ever, but I think they decided to treat it as a sort of 'memorial gig' (or funeral for the fans), a tribute to a great musician, Tim.
    DGD is a very special band in many ways and I think all of this is quite a typical "DGD" thing to do, in a good way - i don't know how to explain it, but if you know, you know.
    I am so excited to see them in the UK this year and cannot wait! They're my all time fave band and I genuinely wish them all the best! I hope the members and fans find peace ❤️
    RIP Tim ❤️🎸

      Nice to see another UK fan! I totally agree with your comment. I'm a fan from England, and I feel most of their fanbase are staunchly American - They rarely are over this side of the pond. I wonder how many will turn up to see them, I don't see them talked about whatsoever by most people around me (even metalheads). I'm gutted I missed their last gig in 2018, would have been the last time they'd be here with Tim :( Gutted for all of them but they should be super proud they managed to finish the set. I don't know many bands who would carry on with this in their circumstances.

      I know what you mean by this being a "DGD thing" of them to do.
      Not from the UK but I will be seeing them in WI this coming Saturday and when I heard of the news of Tim I didn't expect Swanfest to continue honestly, and I would've supported that decision as well as I support their decision to continue with the tour.
      I would like to believe that Tim will be there in spirit. He will be there through the band members, the fans and the music itself. He will live on through his music.
      It's nice to see how many people, from all over the world, they have touched with their music. I hope you have an amazing experience, they are amazing live, even now.
      As a fellow fan, I can say to DGD, that I support them and thank them for honoring Tim and letting all of us honor him as part of the tour.
      Rest in Peace Tim ❤️🎶🎸

    How drunk was Tilian? Every video I've seen from this show he sounds like crap. I thought I seen he was crying during Strawberry's Wake, but that can't be an excuse for the entire concert. They should not have played this show and should take some time off to honor Tim, like the Foo Fighters have been. I'm thinking since this was their festival, they had sunk a lot of money into it and didn't want to be out of that money.

    • @davidsoux
      @davidsoux 2 роки тому +92

      Their best friend just died. Nobody really cared if they performed well or not. They continued the festival and the upcoming tour in honor or Tim. It was ultimately everyone’s decision, even Tim’s family had a say in it. People grieve differently, they’re not going to say “Oh! Let’s stay quiet like Foo Fighter!”. I’m sure Tilian didn’t think he’d break down mid-performance, but he did. So what?

    • @dgmotorsportsnetwork3580
      @dgmotorsportsnetwork3580 2 роки тому +43

      I do not believe he was drunk, he was crying during one in a million, count bassy, strawberry wake and overall was sort of choked up during the night. It wasn't just tilian though. Most if not all of the other band members were also choked up aswell. They just held it together more than Tilian was able to

      @@davidsoux I know all that. I'm a huge DGD fan. I'm just looking at it realistically. I think if Swanfest was not their first show after Tim's death, they would have cancelled. No one (including myself) knows the exact reason, but how expensive it is to put on a festival and/or rescheduling a festival is the reason why I think what I do.
