- Myron sets himself the ultimate challenge - hiking Mt Olympus in one day. He takes trail E4 (which goes from Spain to Greece) from Prionia which is only around a 10-12 hour hike but because of the altitude and terrain, most give themselves two days for the hike (sleeping in refuge A overnight). He sets off at dawn (around 7am) and gives himself exactly 12 hours until the sun goes down. Does he make it? Is it a hike for beginners? Does he recommend doing it in one day? Does he meet Zeus?

We stayed the night a little further down the mountain as the Prionia carpark isn't very flat and had no cellphone reception but we parked there during the day.

I'm going up there myself in August of this year. I suspect I might not make the last 200 meters up to Myticas myself, so I totally understand you! No failure in my opinion. If someone is up there that can lend me a long rope I have something for support or if they could have something placed out there as extra safety, I think that would be good! Overall I'm all in for trying to do this in one day myself, so I'm doing what I can in terms of training my body this summer to make it easier.

Excellent video, twice I have been defeated by this amazing mountain, but, only because I spent so much time taking photos on the way up. I will be returning though as still so much more to discover. You did really well to get as far as you did.

You can easily do it in one day, you just need to start from K.E.O.A.X base. It takes about 6,5 h there and back (16 km).

I did this mountain in 1 day. It was stupid to begin with, but I started to show my father around the agricultural fields of Veria, then to Vergina for the tomb of the father of Alexander the Great, Phillip II. And then it was around
It's ok failing not many people can do the hike from Litohoro to Mytikas in a day
