Hashima Island was known as Battleship Island in the first half of the 20th century. Scores of Chinese, Korean and Filipino people were enslaved and brutally overworked for the mine. Thousands of people died. And thousands more women were brought in as Comfort Women and raped an insane number of times. You should have mentioned that atleast, instead of calling it “thriving”.
I passed through Gary, Indiana, on my last family trip to Utah, and seeing its ghost-town nature makes me think about what it was like in its glory days.
now THIS was a great video for once and the level audio between the narration and the video clips didn't blow my eardrums out. nice work. for a change.
Cus this video is just 3 of their old videos put together. Thats why Hashima is called Gunkanjima. They missed that it is actually the same island because they only looked on the titles and not the descriptions which are basically the same
I've been to the Salton Sea. The "sand" was mainly broken shells and I was warned not to touch anything because it was dangerous and/or toxic. There was a pelican there... I remember it being mainly gray
I find abandoned buildings so interesting, big or small. I just wonder who all went there. Someone important? Someone who im related to? Someone who changed the world in some way? Its haunting to realize we may never know
You should show my stepdad's old room if you want creepy, because he had a lot of my clothes and personal belongings in his room and even other things that are disgusting.
@@bubblie_sweetiemahtab2066 absolutely right. Some of the best one I seen are in Europe . There are videos on UA-cam FYI. Personally I whould not mind checking the abandon six flags park in New Orleans. That one was damaged during hurricane Katrina
I had my wedding photos taken at Witley Court (27) in 2000. It’s a beautiful setting, the huge fountain has been restored and the gardens recreated. One of my favourite images from our wedding is the recreation of the photo in the ballroom.
Video suggestions: Top villains/antagonists who got killed by their past trauma. Example: Cowboy Bebop, Mad Perriou and his cat trauma. Top smartest villains/antagonists who knew when to quit. Leverage, President of San Lerenzo stepping down to avoid dealing with the backlash by remaining in power.
6:25 & 20:33 Hashima Island/Gunkanjima was the setting for the climax in the book "The Rising Seas" by Clive Cussler, one of my fav authors of all time!
There‘s one very creepy place that’s missing: Los Abades on the Canary Island of Tenerife. An old Lepra Colony that’s been abandoned - complete little town built in the 1940s with a school, church, hospital and crematorium in the desert next to the sea.
Željava Air Base on the Crotian and Bosnian border. I visited in 2016 and only was able to get there by the directions of the Croation owner of the hostel/guesthouse I was staying at. Once you travel a couple hundred yards into the mountain it reaches a whole new level of darkness. Advanced darkness, one would say. I was also thankfully advised not to step off the runway as the whole area is still heavily mined from previous wars/conflict.
Centralia having its graffiti highway covered with dirt is one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen. The liability is understandable but it already should be presumed going to the town has risk involved. That place was a mile of humanity and art.
The stairs and many dolls thing, Btw, Dear Watchmojo, so You know Invicible series episode where poor eve can’t take break while being abused of her cruel dad?could You please make the Top 20 cartoon Fathers you re glad They aren’t yours next week?
All abandoned places in Detroit… especially the police department’s that have evidence that could have put horrible ppl away is always being found STILL to this day, but the worst is the funeral homes 😢
my only critique would be the overly energetic tone of the narrator's voice given the subject matter. thank you for reading this comment and making the necessary changes.

Wait did they do hashima island twice?
Yes, I had to double check I wasn't crazy. lol
That's part of the mystery. It makes you forget things. 😨
That caught me off guard too. Seems like a copout.

Same . I find abandoned asylums interesting as well.
So only 29 since you named Hashima Island twice
I'm glad you said it, because I thought I was imaging things
Indeed we made a mistake, thanks for letting us know. It wasn't just a case of the island being so nice we mentioned it twice.

Vandalism will always be worse than time when it comes to destruction of once captivating places. Especially when there's graffiti.
Lol okay
That’s why public location sharing is so awful
When it comes to abandon buildings. The ones i find interesting are abandoned buildings that have everything left behind in it.
Exactly like a time capsule

The abandoned Weylu’s restaurant in Saugus, MA was pretty creepy for years but that has been demolished.
