Ever think about doing a Type O Negative tier list? I feel like my tastes are pretty similar to yours for 90s stuff (SP, NIN, Deftones), you might like it.
@@Ibbizzypnah, I used to think meteora was better. It’s objectively not. Every song has the same tones, no diversion ever. HT was way more encompassing and revolutionary. Meteora is just like B-sides from ht with no uniqueness
Even though I was let down when Minutes to midnight dropped, it really grew on me. What I've done, hands held high, bleed it out, in between, etc. Hunting party is just explosive and atmospheric while maintaining a new metal punk. Keys to the kingdom, line in the sand, until its gone, rebellion, etc. S. Hybrid S. Meteora A. Hunting party A. Minutes to midnight B. Living things B. Thousand sun's C- One more light
For me, Linkin Park's appeal was the constant changes in sound. Every album felt different to the last (even HT & Meteora to some extent), the experimentation and enjoyment for many tracks throught their whole discography is why I stuck around, even when One More Light came out and dissapointed me.
My ranking: 1 - Meteora (10/10) 2 - Hybrid Theory (10/10) 3 - The Hunting Party (9.6/10) 4 - Minutes To Midnight (9.4/10) 5 - A Thousand Suns (9.3/10) 6 - Living Things (8.6/10) 7 - One More Light (5.9/10)
Living Things to me is top 3 imo. I truly think its extremely underrated. Its a perfect blend of soft songs/harder tracks. It was a true return to form for me. Love it more today than I did back then.
I agree that their last 5 albums were an identity crisis of sorts but I followed them through it all and respected the attempts at different sounds. For me I think Hybrid Theory and Meteora had such a monumental impact on me as a teenager I almost had no choice but to follow them through everything else they did no matter how different it sounded. I get the sense Shinoda and company didn't want to get cornered into the numetal sound entirely and tried to evolve out of it with mixed results. Wish that evolution looked similar to what Deftones has done in their later career but it is what it is. S - Hybrid, Meteora A - Thousand Suns, Hunting Party B - Minutes to Midnight C - Living Things D - One More Light
Same rating as you :) I respect their evolution choice but also regret they choosed this path, if one thing the two 1st album have show us is how incredibly good their where at nu-metal and I'm sur they could have give use so much more masterpiece
I don’t think I’d even have anything in A-tier for them. It would just be Meteora and Hybrid Theory in S-tier and the remainder in B or lower. It’s weird that a band with such an enormous legacy also spent the majority of its career in an identity crisis.
I like Minutes to Midnights sound. I think the band is best when they mix heavier tracks with softer more emotional ones. If Linkin Park always stuck to the same types of songs, they would have been a lot more bland in my opinion. Shadow of the day is a really beautiful song and may be the best from the album in my opinion. What do you guys think?
I also love that album. I see what he means with the sound of Given Up it's also not my favourite but I actually think the production style fits the songs very well.
honestly think meteora is 10x better than hybrid theory, HT has the classics but the songs on meteora were always more consistent and interesting to me personally.
S- Hybrid Thoery, Meteora, A Thousand Suns A- Minutes to Midnight B- Living Things, The Hunting Party C- One More Light If Living Things was more consistent i’d bump it up a tier.
Absolutely agree on A Thousand Suns being S-tier. It's a lot more experimental and concept-like record, with each long leading to the next. It's definitely meant to be listened to as a WHOLE, instead of a collection of singles.
Thank you for that video, Linkin park is my favorite band, and here is my ranking: S: Minutes to Midnight (yeah I'm that guy) A: Hybrid Theory, Meteora, A Thousand Suns B: The Hunting Party D: The Living Things F: One More Light So, about my S tier choice. It's pretty much because of nostalgia, this is the first album I've ever listened to, when I was 3-4 years old my father would listen to it non-stop, and that affected my music taste greatly. This album was my door to rock and then metal, so don't eat me that choice guys pls 😂😂😂. Also I think the remarkable thing about Minutes To Midnight is its diversity. There's like no way you could confuse one track with another
@@MetalTrenchesIt kind of hurt me, but It's fine, everyone have their own opinion. The reason why I liked this Album " Minutes To Midnight " More than Hybrid Theory and Meteora is because, It is really calm. Not only the vocals were calm, Even The instruments were. I'm not a big fan of death metal, black metal, or other nu metal bands, Yea I liked Slipknot, Korn but Linkin Park is kind of my Favourite. They're just hated because they continue to change their style, but it's because I think they're more of Exceptional band who blends different genres together.
I may be in the minority but I think LP don't really have a 'bad' album. I hated One More Light at the time of release but after Chester died, i gave it another try and the lyrics and melodies hit me hard, it was not a perfect album at all, but i enjoy even LP's worst album a lot.
Their first two albums(Hybrid Theory & Meteora) will always be classics as far as Nu Metal goes. The closest later LP album to reach that to me was The Hunting Party since that album gave a bit of impression of their first 2 albums.
Giving Up has one of Chester's best vocal performances proving why his voice is God tier! Also would have at least been fine if you put Metora at low S tier but I can dream! Good luck with the comments since you put the rock leaning albums on the lower tiers bro! Way more defenders than you think!
I’m used to it. I don’t make videos to say what’s popular, I just share my honest opinions. If people’s egos are too weak to handle someone else’s perspective that’s not my problem.
Hybrid Theory got me into rock/metal, a defining album from my teen years. As I grew older I started to warm up to A Thousand Suns and it's probably my favourite LP album now. The songs, lyrics and the concept album themes hold sentimental value for me. I remember being the only kid in school who liked that album and ironically enough ATT has had a renaissance in the fanbase over the years from what I've seen.
So here is my story with linkin park. back in high school in 2003 / 2004 they were my favourite band of all time and they were the band that really got me into music . I worshipped ht and meteora. As in your case by 2007 I moved on to heavy and power metal and when minutes came out I was dissappointed by how commercial it was. At that point I lost touch with the band but continued listening to the new singles that came out in the 10 years that came afterwards just because lp had been such an important part of my life. In some case I liked them in others I was disgusted ( the catalyst) . They were almost unrecognizable to me . As I hit 30 in 2017 I really started getting into a lot of different music that wasnt metal. That was when I came back to re-listed to the post meteora albums and after a bit I started really liking them alot especially A thousand suns which I think is absolutely an outstanding piece of work and my favourite album from them after ht and meteora . So in the end I just needed to open my mind up to different music to apreciate what they did after their nu metal period. I must admit however that their last album one more light despite having some good songs on the whole is a pretty week album . Cheers from italy
S: Hybrid Theory, Meteora C: The Hunting Party D: Minutes to Midnight F: A Thousand Suns, Living Things, One More Light Easiest and quickest tier list I ever made. 😂
Linkin Park was the first metal band that I really actively listened to and became a fan of. Great video, here’s my list: S - Hybrid Theory, A Thousand Suns (the most polarizing one, I think it’s some of the band’s best work but I can see why people consider it one of the worst) A - Meteora (I agree it’s a little overrated. I think it holds up really well and has some of the best LP songs, but it just doesn’t have the same impact as Hybrid Theory imo), The Hunting Party (I think it’s a really good album, just not a good LP album because it sounds like a whole different band. It feels like a weird mix between Megadeth, Pierce The Veil and DragonForce with some slight traces of LP). B - LIVING THINGS C - Minutes To Midnight (it’s super mediocre compared to the last two, but Given Up, Hands Held High and No More Sorrow are some of my favorite LP songs) D - One More Light Also, I’m now waiting on Car Maintenance Trenches with Ride of DeLorean to become a thing.
S: A Thousand Suns A: Reanimation, Meteora, Minutes to Midnight B: Hybrid Theory, One More Light C: The Hunting Party D: Living Things Why do I follow? I don't listen only to metal, I'm actually openminden for another styles (synth, ebm, industrial, techno, electronics and many many more). Linkin Park provided me emotions and stability. I just love Chester's voice and I think that A Thounsand Suns is just a masterpiece. You on the other hand, expect hitting songs like Crawling because this is exactly what you want to hear. Linkin Park was always a band who followed it's path, for me they didn't have to blink to the "die hard fans!11!" with a mediocore Hunting Party. One More Light was more honest, one can feel it.
Coming from a very late fan, since 2022: S: Meteora, A thousand Suns A: Hybrid theory, Living things B: One more light C: Minutes to midnight D: The hunting party
My rankings: S: Hybrid Theory A: Meteora, The Hunting Party B: Living Things C: Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns D: One More Light I find Living Things kind of underrated these days. To me, it's what A Thousand Suns should have been, an which a lot of people like to praise these days.
Tbf the reason you checked out at Meteora is the reason they switched it up. Imagine 6 more hybrid theory’s. Even I didn’t want that. Granted I do prefer their earlier sound as well, but there are many spotlight songs in their later albums.
I also never really liked Minutes to Midnight. I could never really put my finger on why I thought it was bad but your description really explains everything. The production really hurts the records sound. It definitely has a very sparse production quality to it and I like how you compared it to a garage rock sound. And yes I will agree that Giving Up is one of their weakest and also laziest songs. It feels almost like they tried doing some kind of angry “middle fingers in the air” style of anthem song, kinda akin to a Surfacing by slipknot but failed in executing this idea.
They’ve been pretty much my favorite band since I was in elementary school but they fell hard after the first two. The later albums basically each only have a couple good songs if that and living things def was the best of the later albums followed by the hunting party. They were my first concert though and living things was the first album I ever bought on release so they will always be special to me.
S - Hybrid Theory. A - Meteora & Reanimation B - Living Things & A Thousand Suns & Collision Course C - One More Light D - Minutes to Midnight & Recharged E - Hunting Party
Linkin park list 1-Meteora 2-The hunting party 3-Living things 4-A thousand suns 5-Hybrid theory 6-Minutes to midnight 7-One more light Linkin park is one of my fav bands, and tbh, i have a really strict opinion on their music, so the list wasnt hard to do (i like, at the very least, all their albums)
1. Meteora (9.5/10) 2. Hybrid Theory (9/10) 3. Minutes To Midnight (8.5/10) 4. A Thousand Suns (7.5/10) 5. From Zero (7/10) 6. One More Light (6.5/10) 7. The Hunting Party (6/10) 8. Living Things (5/10)
Meteora: I place it up high honestly because of nostalgia. Minutes: In 2022, I cringe at the heavier tracks. For me the album shines when the songs are just chilling and restrained. I would have adored a full album of laid-back material around 2007. A Thousand Suns: I love that album title, I love the album cover, I am a sucker for concept albums. But this was poorly executed. Living Things + Hunting Party: both bleed together for me. No memorable parts or songs. I don't mind LP changing up their sound and being experimental, but I wish they written more songs like Breaking the Habit and gone in that direction. That song was fiercely experimental compared to everything they had written before then. One More Light: I originally gave it a 50/100. but after Chester's passing this album stuck really close to me. For me it is an extremely fun listen. Definitely put it right beside Hybrid and Meteora. Reanimation: was the first album I bought with my own money. I seriously thought it was a video game and disappointed when i discovered that it wasn't.
My ranking: 1. Meteora (I personally find this one to be a lot better than Hybrid Theory) 2. Hybrid Theory EP (Idk if this counts, But I think nearly every single track here is stellar) 3. Minutes To Midnight (Yeah I know, It has its issues for sure, But I love several tracks off of it regardless) 4. Living Things (Not much to say, It's just a step up from ATS in most regards) 5. Hybrid Theory (Now don't get me wrong, I do love a ton of tracks from this one, However... One Step Closer is too overplayed for me, Crawling got memed to the point where I can't enjoy as much as I did before, Runaway is pretty average, And the remix of Pushing Me Away is better than the original, But again I do like this album) 6. The Hunting Party (Outside of a couple tracks there's not much here that I have a strong opinion on, It's good but not as memorable as the others) 7. A Thousand Suns (While it does have some stellar songs on it, There's too many interlude tracks on here for me to consider it a good album) 8. One More Light (Obvious bottom spot, I don't have much of an opinion on this one, The title track is the only one I genuinely like, The rest are whatever)
I love Minutes to Midnight, even as I've progressed to heavier sounds because the lyrics speak to me and my experiences. You called it "sappy" and that's just emotion. It's Punk. It's emo. It's not for everyone, but it hits hard for the people it is for.
I hated a thousand suns when it came out but it became my favorite. I like the concept and I was impressed how they were able to stick to it thoughout the album
I enjoyed seconds to midnight tbh I’m a younger listener and wasn’t around for most of it I think I was like 4 when it came out tbh but I genuinely emotionally resonate with it
Your rankings are quite close to what I would have put. What set their first two albums apart from the rest (apart from quality sound obviously), was how concise and clean the production was. In all their later albums, I could find a few songs I like from each, but the music quality and style weren't consistent within each album. I admire Linkin Park for experimenting, and not giving a damn about what their fans might think, but all too often it didn't work out for them.
Alright, I have a few hot takes for this band. Buckle up. Hybrid Theory: Amazing album, their best Meteora: Tied w/ HT and one other album for their best Minutes to Midnight: Very good album. Very diverse. A Thousand Suns: Their other masterpiece IMHO. Very poignant and emotional album. Living Things: Another great diverse album. The Hunting Party: Their most boring album. They were trying too hard to be RAAAAWWWWKKKK and it didn't work IMO. One More Light: Honestly? I like it. It was not as bad as people made it out to be. I don't mind the pop music at all, and Heavy w/ Kiiara is a great song.
If someone else had made One More Light or maybe it was like a side project it might have been better recieved. Cuz yeah it's not terrible but it also doesn't feel like a Linkin Park album in any way at that point.
S- Meteora/ Hybrid Theory A- Living things B- Minutes to midnight/ thousend suns C- hunting party D- One more light Dont think anything they've done is truely bad and deserving of an F tier
Well I'm split on minutes to midnight due to the fact that it feels like little all over the place in terms of song flow, I still like every song on there, even the slower ones like "leave out all the rest" because those slower ones feel really personal and feel like an emotional gut punch. That personal vulnerability through out all there work is what I love about it (and there music also tickles the good parts of my brain).
Meteora is a refined version of Hybrid Theory. It just has better songwriting all around. It's also worth noting after those first two records the band was obviously trying to go in a very different direction musically so saying they lost their way after the first two records doesn't make much sense.
Dude I love your videos, but I have to be honest about one thing. If you’re saying that fans have stayed listening to LP just because they’re LP and name recognition, that’s not true. I literally grew up with Hybrid Theory and Meteora on repeat for years and I can unashamedly say now that my fav album by them is A Thousand Suns, even though Rob barely touches his guitar on that album. And I say this as a devoted metalhead who religiously also listens to the most evil black metal and the most disgusting death metal. I love Linkin Park because their music is always indescribable. Their melodies, the emotion in Chester’s voice, the passion in Mike’s, Joe’s electronics, everything just speaks to me. They take any genre they experiment with and make it their own and unique. I actually even enjoyed a couple of tracks off of One More Light and I’m unashamed to say it. I usually love your videos because you also touch on metalcore and nu metal bands, which are hated genres in the metal scene, but I have to admit this video was pretty metal elitist of you. The comparison you made of you switching to making videos about cars is different. That’s more like Linkin Park quitting music to become a group of realtors. I’m sure that if Linkin Park stayed with the same HT sound throughout their whole discography they would’ve never been as popular and relevant as they were before Chester died. Saxon stayed with the same sound throughout their whole discography and even die hard fans didn’t know they dropped a new album this year.
I think overall Meteora is a better album than Hybrid Theory. A lot of people think that Hybrid Theory hasn’t age too well. Honestly I think Numb is their best single and songs like In The End and Crawling are kind of overrated.
Hybrid Theory still holds up for me. I listened to both of them again just the other day and I still enjoy every second of it whereas parts of Meteora have me bored. I'd say it's nostalgia, but I was right there in the midst of it when both of those were coming out.
@@MetalTrenches Yeah actually the way you feel about Meteora I feel with Hybrid Theory. Songs like like Runaway, A Place For My Head, and By Myself are skippable songs for me. But I respect your opinion. Actually It’s been like 6 months since I started really listening to Linkin Park so I don’t have the nostalgia factor
Love Meteora more than Hybrid Theory. You are right that there are less hit singles. But I feel it's more emotional and personal, and also more cohesive.
I agree that Meteora is weaker than Hybrid Theory, but I still love the singles. My ranking: 7. The Hunting Party 6. Minutes to Midnight 5. Living Things 4. One More Light 3. Meteora 2. A thousand Suns 1. Hybrid Theory
My ranking S tier 1. Metorora 2. Hybrid Theroy A tier 3. Living Things 4. A Thousand Suns B tier 5. The Hunting Party 6. Minutes To Midnight C tier 7. One more light
i love how linkin park is different with every album, sure some didnt work but - i respect them more than many nu metal bands that have safe sound.......
For me, everything went downhill after Meteora. I know many LP fans love their work after Meteora, but as a person who fell in love with their original sound and the first two albums, I could never get into any of their music after those two albums. That said, Hybrid Theory and Meteora are some of my favorite albums of all time.
I didn't like Hybrid Theory when it came out because i was growing out of my "initial" nu metal phase in favor of hardcore and death metal. But i started really listening to it last year and i fucking love it now.
Meu Ranked - Linkin Park: S - Meteora A - Hybrid Theory B - The Hunting Party C - Minutes to Midnight e Living Things D - A Thousand Suns e One More Light
For me hybrid theory Meteora A thousand suns Hunting party And the rest can fight amongst each each other. To elaborate why I like a thousand suns. Back when I was high school I didn't like it because it wasn't hybrid theory but I listen to the full album in rotation. It's amazing imo. Once u hit the tracks robot boy, Jornada del Muerto, waiting for the end, black out wretches and kings, iridescent (my favorite) the catalyst. Hunting party imo a slight return to form but not really still worth a listen for key songs like keys to the kingdom, war, and the track with Rakim is cool af. Heavy.
I listen to Hybrid Theory and Meteora regularly and a bit ago went to check out the rest and I didn't even make it halfway through Minutes to Midnight lol. Also I'd have Meteora on S too. I think it's better than you're giving it credit for, though I do agree the HT is the better of the two
You said it yourself, you are looking for something specific in Linkin Park, a particular sound and genre. They are not the kind of band that sticks to one thing. That does not mean their later music is bad or worse than their earlier stuff. They even said they do not want to stick with one particular sound. I love how they evolved and Minutes to Midnight has some of my favorite tracks (Leave out all the Rest, Valentine's Day, and The little things give you away). Would I have enjoyed tracks similar to Hybrid Theory on their later albums? Sure, I loved their sound on that album but what was there was still great to me. S: Hybrid Theory, A Thousand Suns A: Meteora, Minutes to Midnight, Reanimation B: Living Things, One More Light (somewhere between A and B tier) C: Hunting Party
That’s all well and good. I just don’t personally find value in the later stuff. Some of my favorite bands change sounds a lot. These just don’t come together imo
(Reanimation) was dope and I may be the odd ball that likes it more than the original album. I appreciate (A Thousand Suns) and for some reason enjoyed the last 4 tracks of (The Hunting Party) starting with 9. Mark the Graves. The rest I agree with you. Chester had a great voice but the more emo the tone the less it appealed to me. I watched a random video earlier where they didn't want to fall into a stereotype and I agree it ended up in some questionable choices. They had some behind closed door issues as well.
I forgot One More Light. I’d probably put that one in C tier. It has maybe 2 songs that are actually awful, but it’s very mediocre for the most part in my opinion.
I can't think of any musical artist with as many hits that everyone can sing/rap along with every word than them. They have like 20 major hits that everyone can karaoke to
Everybody putting one more light at the least possible tier but I gotta say I love the album, and listened to it over and over again after Chester was gone
I watched the tier list they did on the Rocked channel and I mean I enjoy some stuff they do but I remember them splitting the tiers into Gold, Silver, Bronze and Aluminum and then putting Minutes To Midnight, A Thousand Suns and Living Things all in one tier and it was so confusing to watch lmao.
@Finn McKenty Slander Account No offense, but metalcore isn’t really that special. Sure, it had a couple of hits here and there (mostly underground), but it’s nothing at all.
Personally, for someone who listen to linkin park at a very young age, and being the guys who opened the gates for me to listen rock and metal music, it's really complicated for me to undestand how a band like this went completely derailed since their 3rd album. It's really a shame because I always thought the band was capable of more interesting and innovating music, specially with the voice of chester bennington, which in my honest opinion, is the best screamer of the nu metal era if not one of the best of all time. When I heard that Chester died, i decided to listen to their new material and I couldn't get pass throught their 3rd track, even to this day. I understand that people don't wanna be more critical about their newest material since the reason why Chester died, but we cannot simply deny that the band really couldn't hold themself at this point.
1. Hybrid Theory (10/10) 2. Meteora (9/10) 3. A Thousand Suns (8/10) 4. Living Things (7/10) 5. The Hunting Party (6/10) 6. Minutes to Midnight (5/10) 7. One More Light (3/10)
@@DeathUponYou133 oh hell yeah. This is one of those very few albums where every single song is literally perfect, so idk what my favorite is lol but Shadow Of The Day, Hands Held High, and Valentine’s Day are definitely up there
Honestly, I've been listening to linkin park since I was born, my mom is a big diehard fan of them (even though she just likes the first 2 albuns), and so when I got my first phone, and could search for new music on my own, they were one of the first I went to. At the time I didn't know anything about production or mixing and stuff, so I really enjoyed them. Going back to these albuns I realized they aren't all that great, the mixing kinda throws me off, but I still enjoy them, they aren't masterpieces but I can't get what's so bad about them
My top 3 Linkin Park albums are 1 Hybrid Theory 2 Meteora 3 Minutes To Midnight Than I stopped listening to them after that but I will say Burn 🔥 It Down is a rager of a song and I love the songs they released for the Transformers movies
Hybrid Theory is an incredible debut, came out the year I was born haha. Their first two albums were the first metal albums I really listened to. I was a little muppet baby headbanging to crawling😂😂😂
For me its: S Tier: Hybrid Theory EP, Hybrid Theory LP, & Reanimation A Tier: A Thousand Suns & Meteora B Tier: Living Things & Hunting Party C Tier: Minutes to Midnight F Tier: One More Light
My opinion is very biased because I'm a diehard fan of them since my childhood but I loved all of their albums. I know that they got pretty generic with the years but always when I read the lyrics, none of their songs seems soulless to me. Every song had a powerful emotionally true meaning to me and I never felt that they were faking the emotions on their songs (like I always feel when I hear a MGK song). Technically, I know they sounded boring and generic for many people especially after Meteora (and I think that they really were) but for I personally always loved their songs and their lyrical context (the main reason why I still have Linkin Park as one of my favorite bands)
Linkin Park is my all-time favorite band, so I'm happy to see this video. Huge disagree with A Thousand Suns, I love how cohesive that album is, and the music is really well-written. Here's my tier list: *A+:* A Thousand Suns, Meteora, Hybrid Theory *A:* The Hunting Party *B:* LIVING THINGS *C:* Minutes to Midnight *D:* One More Light
@@MetalTrenches lyrically, Hybrid Theory I don't think holds up that well. Some songs like Runaway (which is one of their worst songs to me) comes off as extremely whiny and juvenile. And some of the songs can blend together in a very samey way too. I found the writing on ATS to be far better and I loved the experimentation of the sound as well, each song has it's own distinct identity, The Catalyst is my favorite song from the band. I'm not hating on Hybrid Theory obviously, love the album but that's my brief reasoning haha
I personally always loved minutes to midnight. I'd actually rank it as one of their better albums. But one valid complaint I'm surprised you didn't bring up is a pacing of the album. Which is all over the place due to tracks like giving up being placed next to leave all the rest for example. But respect your take nonetheless
I always thought Hybrid Theory had a darker, rougher sound than Meteora, which seemed a lot brighter and less heavy. I also thought Hybrid Theory was way better.
Well, my ranking is preeeeeetty much gonna be controversial, in any case S tier: Meteora, The Hunting Party Meteora is just like a fine wine, and Hunting Party is a really underrated album in the LP Discography, Guilty All The Same alone is the best song on that album in my opinion, and the Final Masqurade has an almost movie like vibe to it, and Meteora, well, im sure others already told why its S tier so, moving on A Tier: Hybrid Theory, Minutes to Midnight Hybrid Theory didn't age well, at least to me, and the hundreds of thousands of memes about Crawling really did put a sour taste in my mouth, also, im sorry, but i just simply don't like One Step Closer, its the weakest song on the album, but even then, the weakest songs are still a banger, but the album is just not as consistent as Meteora, as for Minutes to Midnight, i think its just a good album, not S Tier but still a good album, Given Up alone is worth listening to, and Bleed it Out just has that Raw Energy to me, but where the album definitely shines is when songs like Leave Out All The Rest and What I've Done is playing B Tier: One More Light i don't think its a bad album, but its a BAD Linkin Park Album, and im gonna die on that hill, the Album is really just, kind of average, but the Title track is genuinely soul crushing, especially when you hear Chester screaming from a distance around the end of the song, and Battle Symphony just has an uplifting sense to it, as for the rest of the album, its fine, really, but to me, these two songs are really the pinnacle of the album C Tier: A Thousand Suns For the love of God almost Half of the album is just Interludes! its not fun! that's all i can say about this album, its just a borefest, there are a few songs that catch my attention but by the time they come in, i just wish i could listen to something else, like SOAD. D/F tier: Living Things Its the most forgetable album to me, im sorry, but its just bad, really bad, even the singles are bad, it just sounds so generic and almost soulless, if i want generic i just listen to Literally Any Album by Five Finger Death Punch
Here would be my ranking for Linkin Park. As long as Meteora and Hybrid Theory are either in S or A tier, I'm fine with any other hot take: S - Hybrid Theory A - Meteora B - The Hunting Party C - Minutes to Midnight, Living Things D - A Thousand Suns, One More Light

Dang, I’ve always felt like Meteora was way stronger than Hybrid Theory. Love them both, but I find myself coming back to Meteora a lot more often.
Same here. Meteors is like a more refined version of Hybrid Theory.
Agreed
Until this week I thought the same
I’m sorry bro … but he lost all credibility with what he said about meteora …. I understand everybody has their own opinion but DAMN … I’m sorry 😂😂😂

Hybrid Theory has aged better than it has the right to. I don't even like Linkin Park but that album is a certified banger.
Absolutely
I miss Chester deeply. No celebrity death ever hit as hard. 😔
You mourn his death more than any of your family member
Even though I was let down when Minutes to midnight dropped, it really grew on me. What I've done, hands held high, bleed it out, in between, etc. Hunting party is just explosive and atmospheric while maintaining a new metal punk. Keys to the kingdom, line in the sand, until its gone, rebellion, etc.

For me, Linkin Park's appeal was the constant changes in sound. Every album felt different to the last (even HT & Meteora to some extent), the experimentation and enjoyment for many tracks throught their whole discography is why I stuck around, even when One More Light came out and dissapointed me.
My ranking:
1 - Meteora (10/10)
2 - Hybrid Theory (10/10)
3 - The Hunting Party (9.6/10)

One more light is not good
Living Things to me is top 3 imo.
S - Hybrid, Meteora

Same rating as you :)
I respect their evolution choice but also regret they choosed this path, if one thing the two 1st album have show us is how incredibly good their where at nu-metal and I'm sur they could have give use so much more masterpiece
I don’t think I’d even have anything in A-tier for them. It would just be Meteora and Hybrid Theory in S-tier and the remainder in B or lower. It’s weird that a band with such an enormous legacy also spent the majority of its career in an identity crisis.
couldnt agree with you more
I like Minutes to Midnights sound.
S- Hybrid Thoery, Meteora, A Thousand Suns
A- Minutes to Midnight
B- Living Things, The Hunting Party
C- One More Light
If Living Things was more consistent i’d bump it up a tier.
Absolutely agree on A Thousand Suns being S-tier. It's a lot more experimental and concept-like record, with each long leading to the next. It's definitely meant to be listened to as a WHOLE, instead of a collection of singles.
thats good but u have two of them backwards living things is s tier and a thousand suns b tier
@@Bluedude08 i have them in the order of my opinion thank you

S: Minutes to Midnight (yeah I'm that guy)
A: Hybrid Theory, Meteora, A Thousand Suns
B: The Hunting Party
D: The Living Things
F: One More Light
So, about my S tier choice. There's like no way you could confuse one track with another
Hope my thoughts didn't hurt too much. Thanks for watching and sharing your own perspective.
mtm is so good
@@MetalTrenchesIt kind of hurt me, but It's fine, everyone have their own opinion.
🤘🏻
In Kanye terms, I think it's like the Jesus is King of Linkin Park lol
Seeing them play it live made me appreciate Given up a lot more. If only the back half of MtM lived up

@The Coin Has A Say I was a diehard Linkin Park fan back in the day and I know those songs by heart. I'm sorry but they are no good imo
Thanks for sharing your story \m/

Easiest and quickest tier list I ever made. 😂
I do prefer living things over ats and oml cos of lost in the echo burn it down castle of glass and victimised
Linkin Park was the first metal band that I really actively listened to and became a fan of. Great video, here’s my list:
S - Hybrid Theory, A Thousand Suns (the most polarizing one, I think it’s some of the band’s best work but I can see why people consider it one of the worst)
A - Meteora (I agree it’s a little overrated.
B - LIVING THINGS
C - Minutes To Midnight (it’s super mediocre compared to the last two, but Given Up, Hands Held High and No More Sorrow are some of my favorite LP songs)
D - One More Light
Also, I’m now waiting on Car Maintenance Trenches with Ride of DeLorean to become a thing.
lol maybe in a few years
A Thousand Suns is one of my faves as well
S: A Thousand Suns
A: Reanimation, Meteora, Minutes to Midnight
B: Hybrid Theory, One More Light
C: The Hunting Party
D: Living Things
Why do I follow? I don't listen only to metal, I'm actually openminden for another styles (synth, ebm, industrial, techno, electronics and many many more). Linkin Park provided me emotions and stability. I just love Chester's voice and I think that A Thounsand Suns is just a masterpiece. You on the other hand, expect hitting songs like Crawling because this is exactly what you want to hear. Linkin Park was always a band who followed it's path, for me they didn't have to blink to the "die hard fans!11!" with a mediocore Hunting Party. One More Light was more honest, one can feel it.
Coming from a very late fan, since 2022:
S: Meteora, A thousand Suns
A: Hybrid theory, Living things

C: Minutes to midnight
D: The hunting party
My rankings:
S: Hybrid Theory
A: Meteora, The Hunting Party
B: Living Things
C: Minutes to Midnight, A Thousand Suns
D: One More Light
I find Living Things kind of underrated these days.
S - Minutes To Midnight
A - Hybrid Theory , Meteora
B- A Thousand Suns
C - One More Light , From Zero
D - Living Things , The Hunting Party
I also never really liked Minutes to Midnight. I could never really put my finger on why I thought it was bad but your description really explains everything. The production really hurts the records sound. It definitely has a very sparse production quality to it and I like how you compared it to a garage rock sound. And yes I will agree that Giving Up is one of their weakest and also laziest songs. It feels almost like they tried doing some kind of angry “middle fingers in the air” style of anthem song, kinda akin to a Surfacing by slipknot but failed in executing this idea.
Yeah it’s just all around making a lot of odd choices
They’ve been pretty much my favorite band since I was in elementary school but they fell hard after the first two. The later albums basically each only have a couple good songs if that and living things def was the best of the later albums followed by the hunting party. They were my first concert though and living things was the first album I ever bought on release so they will always be special to me.

Linkin park is one of my fav bands, and tbh, i have a really strict opinion on their music, so the list wasnt hard to do (i like, at the very least, all their albums)
1. Meteora (9.5/10)
2. Hybrid Theory (9/10)
3. Minutes To Midnight (8.5/10)
4. A Thousand Suns (7.5/10)
5. From Zero (7/10)
6. One More Light (6.5/10)
7. The Hunting Party (6/10)
My ranking:
1. Meteora (I personally find this one to be a lot better than Hybrid Theory)
2. Hybrid Theory EP (Idk if this counts, But I think nearly every single track here is stellar)
3. Minutes To Midnight (Yeah I know, It has its issues for sure, But I love several tracks off of it regardless)
4. Living Things (Not much to say, It's just a step up from ATS in most regards)
5. Hybrid Theory (Now don't get me wrong, I do love a ton of tracks from this one, However... One Step Closer is too overplayed for me, Crawling got memed to the point where I can't enjoy as much as I did before, Runaway is pretty average, And the remix of Pushing Me Away is better than the original, But again I do like this album)
6. The Hunting Party (Outside of a couple tracks there's not much here that I have a strong opinion on, It's good but not as memorable as the others)
7. A Thousand Suns (While it does have some stellar songs on it, There's too many interlude tracks on here for me to consider it a good album)
The thing is I love pop punk and emo. Grew up in its heyday. This just isn’t as effective imo 🤷🏻♂️
I hated a thousand suns when it came out but it became my favorite. I like the concept and I was impressed how they were able to stick to it thoughout the album

(personal opinion!)
Buckle up.
Hybrid Theory: Amazing album, their best
Meteora: Tied w/ HT and one other album for their best
Minutes to Midnight: Very good album.
S- Meteora/ Hybrid Theory
A- Living things
B- Minutes to midnight/ thousend suns
C- hunting party
D- One more light
Dont think anything they've done is truely bad and deserving of an F tier
Minutes to Midnight is underrated. Meteora would easily be my favorite though, with Hybrid Theory close in second.
I grew up on LP and my favorite albums from them are Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns

For me, everything went downhill after Meteora. I know many LP fans love their work after Meteora, but as a person who fell in love with their original sound and the first two albums, I could never get into any of their music after those two albums. That said, Hybrid Theory and Meteora are some of my favorite albums of all time.
I don't know if this is a hot take. But I personally prefer Meteora over Hybrid Theory personally.
There's definitely some of you out there. I'm gonna do a channel poll in a bit.
I didn't like Hybrid Theory when it came out because i was growing out of my "initial" nu metal phase in favor of hardcore and death metal. But i started really listening to it last year and i fucking love it now.
In the End and By Myself are the best songs to me. I loved One Step Closer and Faint back in the day, but nowadays not much

Excactly my list. The Hunting Party is awesome.
Am I that one weird person who enjoys one more light?
For me hybrid theory
Meteora
A thousand suns
Hunting party
And the rest can fight amongst each each other.
Heavy.
Thanks for sharing
I've gotta almost wholeheartedly agree with you here. Only Minutes to Midnight I would have put just a bit higher.
I listen to Hybrid Theory and Meteora regularly and a bit ago went to check out the rest and I didn't even make it halfway through Minutes to Midnight lol. Also I'd have Meteora on S too. I think it's better than you're giving it credit for, though I do agree the HT is the better of the two
It may have made another one of my infamous lists... 0_0
S: Hybrid Theory, A Thousand Suns
A: Meteora, Minutes to Midnight, Reanimation
B: Living Things, One More Light (somewhere between A and B tier)
C: Hunting Party
That’s all well and good. I just don’t personally find value in the later stuff. Some of my favorite bands change sounds a lot. These just don’t come together imo
the hunting party slaps, their second best album in my opinion.
A: Meteora.
B: Hybrid Theory and Minutes To Midnight.
C: Living Things and The Hunting Party.
D: A Thousand Suns.
I forgot One More Light. I’d probably put that one in C tier. It has maybe 2 songs that are actually awful, but it’s very mediocre for the most part in my opinion.
Hybrid theory is definitely better than Meteora but goddamn it the nostalgia I get from Meteora just cant be matched

Tbh I like Rocked but the Gold tier kinda hurt it overall, as there was no distinction between an A and A+/S
I understand that people don't wanna be more critical about their newest material since the reason why Chester died, but we cannot simply deny that the band really couldn't hold themself at this point.
i like both sides of their sound tbh

7. One More Light (3/10)

Naw, but agree to disagree
i'm glad i'm not alone on this one. & Given Up is my absolute favourite track on the album.
@@DeathUponYou133 oh hell yeah. This is one of those very few albums where every single song is literally perfect, so idk what my favorite is lol but Shadow Of The Day, Hands Held High, and Valentine’s Day are definitely up there
This band has had so many bangers, like way too many.

3 Minutes To Midnight
Than I stopped listening to them after that but I will say Burn 🔥 It Down is a rager of a song and I love the songs they released for the Transformers movies
Hybrid Theory is an incredible debut, came out the year I was born haha. Their first two albums were the first metal albums I really listened to. I was a little muppet baby headbanging to crawling😂😂😂

For me its:
S Tier: Hybrid Theory EP, Hybrid Theory LP, & Reanimation
A Tier: A Thousand Suns & Meteora
B Tier: Living Things & Hunting Party
C Tier: Minutes to Midnight
F Tier: One More Light
I can totally respect that. Music is for the listener in that moment.
Linkin Park is my all-time favorite band, so I'm happy to see this video. Huge disagree with A Thousand Suns, I love how cohesive that album is, and the music is really well-written. Here's my tier list:
*A+:* A Thousand Suns, Meteora, Hybrid Theory
*A:* The Hunting Party
*B:* LIVING THINGS
*C:* Minutes to Midnight
*D:* One More Light
So interesting to discover so many people seem to put ATS in their top 3
How dare you call Given Up their worst song? Words cannot even describe how horrible that take was, holy shit.
Damn who shit in your cereal
@@dmplacencia Idk what the fuck I was on when I wrote this lol
@@SolarGlu I do agree that given up is a pretty good song tho
you get pumped to burn it down but you draw the line to given up???
And?
S: Meteora, A Thousand Suns
A: Hybrid Theory, Minutes to Midnight
B: The Hunting Party
C: Living Things
D: One More Light
Never in my life have I seen ATS over Hybrid theory. Very interesting
@@robbiemoore5608 Thanks for the insight 🤘🏻
Hybrid Theory (EP), Reanimation, A Thousand Suns
Living Things
The Hunting Party
Hybrid Theory
Meteora
Minutes to Midnight
One More Light for me.
People seem to love them A Thousand Suns. I had no idea
Worst list ive seen

I personally always loved minutes to midnight. I'd actually rank it as one of their better albums.
But one valid complaint I'm surprised you didn't bring up is a pacing of the album. Which is all over the place due to tracks like giving up being placed next to leave all the rest for example.
But respect your take nonetheless
I always thought Hybrid Theory had a darker, rougher sound than Meteora, which seemed a lot brighter and less heavy. I also thought Hybrid Theory was way better.
S: Meteora, Hybrid Theory
A: One More Light, The Hunting Party
B: Minutes To Midnight, A Thousand Suns, Living Things
14:00 this analogy is hilarious lmao
Well, my ranking is preeeeeetty much gonna be controversial, in any case
S tier: Meteora, The Hunting Party
Meteora is just like a fine wine, and Hunting Party is a really underrated album in the LP Discography, Guilty All The Same alone is the best song on that album in my opinion, and the Final Masqurade has an almost movie like vibe to it, and Meteora, well, im sure others already told why its S tier so, moving on
A Tier: Hybrid Theory, Minutes to Midnight
Hybrid Theory didn't age well, at least to me, and the hundreds of thousands of memes about Crawling really did put a sour taste in my mouth, also, im sorry, but i just simply don't like One Step Closer, its the weakest song on the album, but even then, the weakest songs are still a banger, but the album is just not as consistent as Meteora, as for Minutes to Midnight, i think its just a good album, not S Tier but still a good album, Given Up alone is worth listening to, and Bleed it Out just has that Raw Energy to me, but where the album definitely shines is when songs like Leave Out All The Rest and What I've Done is playing
B Tier: One More Light
i don't think its a bad album, but its a BAD Linkin Park Album, and im gonna die on that hill, the Album is really just, kind of average, but the Title track is genuinely soul crushing, especially when you hear Chester screaming from a distance around the end of the song, and Battle Symphony just has an uplifting sense to it, as for the rest of the album, its fine, really, but to me, these two songs are really the pinnacle of the album
C Tier: A Thousand Suns
For the love of God almost Half of the album is just Interludes! its not fun! that's all i can say about this album, its just a borefest, there are a few songs that catch my attention but by the time they come in, i just wish i could listen to something else, like SOAD.
D/F tier: Living Things
Its the most forgetable album to me, im sorry, but its just bad, really bad, even the singles are bad, it just sounds so generic and almost soulless, if i want generic i just listen to Literally Any Album by Five Finger Death Punch
Fascinating
RIP Chester 😢
Here would be my ranking for Linkin Park. As long as Meteora and Hybrid Theory are either in S or A tier, I'm fine with any other hot take:
S - Hybrid Theory
A - Meteora
B - The Hunting Party
C - Minutes to Midnight, Living Things
D - A Thousand Suns, One More Light
👍🏻
Am I weird for liking one more light?
