He drank the wine first to show he wouldn't poison her, then he poured it in to the dish they were both going to eat. He knows it'll take awhile before she can fully trust him.
This was probably the first good home-cooked meal she had in years. Her genuine reaction after she tastes the food is so humanizing. Sofia is such a compelling character, and Cristin Milioti is just killing this role.
I love how they portrayed Sal in this show. A loving husband, father, and vicious boss. He valued what the Falcone's barely had a grasp on, family. I wish we got more of Sofia and Sal together
Thats true..never really realized that..he was devastated when his wife and son died...and Carmine killed his own wife and sent his daughter to Arkham. That is why Sal is capable in connecting with Sophia.
@@qwerttzizzi Exactly, Sofia's own family "testified" against her for being "crazy." Luca denied her of leading the Family and even trying to get her to leave for Italy. This family had ALL its issues with itself
The respect to Persian culture in this show is AMAZING! Always love it when mainstream entertainment is inclusive of other cultures. The eggplant food served with yogurt is accurately delicious too!
I like how they didn't misrepresent Persians like they usually do. Good example of that was in A Death In The Family where they had them speak 'Arabic?' for some reason
Thats what I also said because I am Persian myself actually and when I heard Nadia speaking Persian and Sal showing the Persian food, it just made me happy because they’re actually depicting these elements of Persian culture accurately.
So a lot of people miss the importance of her eating first. It shows that she trusts him not to poison the food, which is why she eats it aggressively. That smile on his face is no accident.
I'm so happy Salvatore got THIS. Sofia was genuinely kind to him. The hurt in his face when saying "Taj was right" ... Jeez, not a dry eye here. Oz being as slippery as he is, never got to pay for killing Nadia and Taj. But, at the very least, Sal got a few (if not good, better) good days, People rooting for Oz, rooting for Sofia, and for Oz, I've been in every camp. But I genuinely felt Salvatore deserved better. There's no happy ending to this show But it's been a rollecoaster of a ride, an amazing show that's kept us engaged, interested, we've FELT while watching this. What a show
I was rooting for Sal against Oz because the pain of knowing that your wife and son getting a slow and painful death would be devastating. I'm glad he got to at least bond with someone who didn't have a very good family as Sal did, and show her his kindness of treating family.
@ he is a great actor. Been watching him since Bad Boys with Sean Penn. I doubt he’ll get any awards tho as he had minimal scenes compared to the main actors.
IMO the most important scene is missing here. After Sofia says „ taj was right“. The way Maroni is trying to pull himself together.. You see his hand shaking trying to get the fork to get in his mouth.. A griefing father and Husband. I felt that. May non of us feel such sorrow..
Even if Sal was a bad guy, I still feel sympathy for him. He’s an old man who was all alone when his loved ones got brutally murdered, until he himself died. At least he is now with his wife and son.
While they are both completely justified to despise Oz and want him dead, they mustn’t forget that Carmine Falcone is the one responsible for their ruined lives, and it’s also all thanks to Thomas Wayne who saved Carmines life and started “Renewal.”
This scene made me feel like Sal was more of a father/uncle to Sofia than any Carmine or Luca.
Grampa Maroni

Someone been paying attention
1:38 You can feel the hurt when he says "so I could pass them down"
Taj was right ):
2:06 she eats like someone who was incarcerated and the seems to catch herself and realize she should socialize.

I think she said 2:26 as in “excuse my manners” 😂

@richardconstante6486 I knew that, it was an interesting change but a good one for this show

Can Anyone give Clancy an award? He's definitely one of the best working actors.
Fr i was happy they put him in this fr hes a legend
Pass one out to Cristin Milioti too.
@javierpatag3609 fr the woman is beyond awesome
Sal Maroni was a great character, and Clancy Brown is an awesome actor
When he started choking up when she said “Taj was right”, almost brought me to tears

I need to try this

I love how open Sal was to learn Farsi for his wife and learn about her heritage's recipes

Man this show deserves alot of awards and praise it's been amazing and perfect and Sophia's actress and Colin have been phenomenal this is awesome 😊

Someone please give Colin and Cristen their Emmys already!
They did a fabulous job!
And Clancy Brown. The three of them did awesome. Rlly good actors.

@@javier77ththat’s true tho. He was great as voice acting as Lex Luthor and Mr. Krabs.
It's amazing how one simple scene can define a relationship.
I actually loved the beginning of this scene. They almost seemed like normal people enjoying a meal!😬At least at first.

Clancy Brown id a DC legend at this point 😮
Marvel to, but yeah mostly DC. As General Wade Eiling in the Flash, and as Frank Castles CO in Daredevil and the Punisher.

Clancy’s got a thing for live action comic book shows.
Daredevil/The Punisher.
The Flash.
And this!
I now want to try Khoresh Bademjan for some reason
Same homie
She eats the way she ate in Arkham: quick and fast
Love this show!!!!
amazing acting
Maroni Macaroni.
Mr. Krabs looks different.
This scene makes me think of them as some sort of uncomfortable old married couple 😅
Song name pls 🙏🏼
Sophia falcone ♥️
The real villian of the show is sofia's barber
Her mullet fits her so well.
my favourite dish!
She eats like someone who is still institutionalized. Aggressive and fast, shoving big spoonfuls in. It’s so sad.
She's a true savage.

If Sofia’s new hairstyle isn’t related to the comics. Whoever did this should be in jail
I agree. It was much better in earlier episodes.
I liked episode 3’s, then episode 4 in the yellow dress was the best, then episode 5 was good too. I’m not huge on this one though.
Right? The previous ones looked so good...this dosent look "freer" just messier lol
