I appreciate that you guys said you didn't agree with what Gale said about the civilians in District 2. I have seen some reactors say he is right. It bums me out. Yeah, war is bad and innocent people get killed, but we don't have to kill them on PURPOSE.
I don't think the message was that Katniss is attracted to people in pain, just specifically with Gale she has love for him, and she knows he wants a romantic relationship. So at times where she wants to comfort him, combined with not understanding her feelings: she ends up trying to give him what he wants to comfort him and show him care. Which is why she keeps kissing him when he's in pain.
Remember in Catching Fire Snow said, convince ME you are madly, prepared to end it all, in love with Peeta? Then he says It's the things we love most that destroy us... Which means Snow saw and was convinced Katnis was in love with Peeta

The rebels did use Gale's idea about the bombs with deleyed explosion when they wanted to capture the miners and they used the same kind of bombs in the capitol when Prim died. Also the fact that Katniss was there when they dropped the bombs doesn't matter cause Gale was also there when it happened. He was just captured by the peacekeepers a moment earlier. So yeah... Gale and Coin are both responsible for Prim's and many other innocent people's deaths. And both of them deserves all the hate they got and even more 😂😅

He literally said the bombs were meant to draw in first responders to help the wounded and then go off again, which is a war crime. Targeting medical personnel is a war crime. Even if Prim wasn't there it was still disgusting of Gale to come up with that kind of bomb. It's inhumane. Even if the bomb didn't get used on children it is still a disgusting war crime. The actor who played Peeta, Josh Hutcherson, said the most physically difficult part was running and fighting with the handcuffs on. Just the section in the sewers was 3 weeks of filming. Interesting facts - Katniss' actor Jennifer Lawrence has blonde hair and Peeta's actor has dark brown hair and they had to dye their hair for the movies. Both of them are from the American state of Kentucky and very good friends. Another interesting connection is between Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, Gale's actor. Josh (Peeta) had been in a film just before Hunger Games with Liam's brother Chris, Red Dawn, and had already known him before they began working on the Hunger Games. Characters Katniss is very emotionally shut down beginning when her father died in the mines. Gale's father died in the same accident and they became friends and hunting companions to support their families. Katniss tells Gale she does not want children because of the world they live in in the first movie. For her to have children at the end of the film is a huge statement of the change in her world. Peeta is very different from both of them. Very smart and able to influence people and absolutely dedicated to protecting Katniss which is why he volunteers for the 2nd games.
About sending someone Peeta trusts to talk to him and it being Prim. It didn't happen that way in the book. They didn't choose the visitor based on trust. They chose them based on having no connection to Katniss. The visitor was a girl from 12. I can't remember how her name was spelled but it was Delly Cartwright. The movie people didn't want to explain who she was I assume so she became Prim.

Same with Snow. People may argue with me on this and I am fine with that because I am not sure I have it all right. But that is how I feel at this moment. The producer of these movie is someone I knew (not well but knew) in high school.

But did he care about all the other people that would lose their family members. No. Just like snow bombing the hospital, killing medics is just pure evil. He was too caught up in war. Peeta, I agree with you completely he was a product of his environment, he didn’t ask to be in the games and he didn’t ask to be tortured and like Katniss he has to live with PTSD from both games. He really did have a crush on katniss since young and in the first 3 films he literally just does everything to make sure she’s safe, maybe him and katniss are slightly trauma bonded together though lol. But In the epilogue it states that it took them years to grow back together and heal, they didn’t just get together instantly. - also in the epilogue of the books katniss says, Gale is like fire, she doesn’t need fire as she has plenty of fire of her own, whereas peeta represents peace and hope which is what she needs and why she chooses him because that is what she wants. I absolutely recommend reading the books, because they are far better than these already amazing films, and they give so much more detail and nuance to the story, Loved these reactions can’t wait to hopefully see ballads of songbirds and snakes and then in 2/3 years time we’re getting a Haymitch movie as well
Plutarch is a genius bc he knows katniss and it’s like what she does is what he would’ve done but him pretending to side with these dictators and whole time being on the mockingjay’s side shows how much he believed in her along with Haymitch, cinna and Effie. They all knew she had fire in her and that she was independent and smart in her own will, she just isn’t manipulative or a chess player like snow is nor is she heartless. She can barely kill people but her smile after killing coin and watching snow suffer his own fate was satisfying like she could’ve killed him a couple times too but chose to believe him since she had no reason not to. Snow basically snitched but coin was just giving herself away and showing how she really isn’t as smart as she thought she was and is just delulu bc she’s been underground too long 😂 she would’ve been ten times worse than snow fr and katniss being a few steps ahead is amazing. She really did everyone a favor and president Paylor deserved her rightful position honestly. She makes a great president and I’m happy Plutarch is still helping out as well with his whole plan coming to fruition, literal genius he is
Katniss is obviously going thru a lot but that’s the point of her not choosing somebody bc she doesn’t actually wanna be with anybody, she originally only cared about her sister prim and honestly prim was her soulmate. She just wasn’t entirely herself which is why Gale said she kissed like a drunk person and you would think he’d know why but he can’t get over himself enough to understand her. Peeta literally never complained once about their relationship bc it was true friendship first and foremost. He was never jealous and he knew what was more important to katniss and what she needed in the moment. He was always considerate and that’s why she adored him and wanted to save him at any cost. What’s funny is Gale being her best friend but not understanding her and Peeta who’s only seen her in school or when he tossed the bread already knows her better and what she needs or who’s important to her. He never made it about himself except to say that he genuinely wants to be friends despite how hard it was for him to pretend for the games. Gale was always insecure and him trying to play hero all the time got on my nerves bc he’s literally so fake but also he gave himself away bc he was too ashamed to show his face to katniss in the hospital after the bombing and too ashamed to admit it was him. It's shows the time around the end of the first Rebellion and how the Games got invented, almost 50 years before katniss is born. Next year another book will come out about haymitch's games and it will also be made into a Movie.
