What a great era - I was born in 1951 but glad my parents loved their music and that I was lucky enough to experience it! I loved my 60’s and 70’s music too but always enjoy listening to this!
I'm only 63 now some tell me that I'm still young, &you know what I still feel young. The thing is listening to this great nostalgic music takes me back too when my parents would play this, or listen too it by the great performers of thier youth and middle age years. The thing is that this music is "Timeless" even Seventy years later. It is also uplifting too hear in the current times were enduring. Thank You very much for playing it. Wyoming, Robert, 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇨🇦🇺🇸🎷🎷🙌🙌😎😎❤️❤️❤️❤️
My parents were born in 1929, 1930 and I wasn’t born until 1960, but they introduced me to their music when I was quite young and I love it still. It took me a while to appreciate 1960s and 70s music because I was raised with the older melodies, but I caught on after a while, lol. I don’t know all of the songs from this collection, but I know quite a few. Nat King Cole’s Nature Boy, has to be my favorite of all time. ❤
Just a small kid and remember my mother listening to the radio while my father was at work! I remember the sounds of the 40's music! The sounds and medley's still remain in my head! The voice of Bing Crosby is still drifting in my mind as well! The people of war time, they were beautiful as they strugged with war and after it! God Bless those folks and their great music!

Its Memorial Day, 2020 and this music represents the best of the greatest generation ever to live on Earth. Most of us reading this surely understand we are the children of the Greatest Generation.
My great grandma turns 100 this August so I’m trying to find a song to sing to her for her birthday. She was in her 20’s in the 40’s. This is very helpful thank you!! ☺️
I'm 59 now, but I grew up with this music when I was a kid, back in the 60's. Those were the only records that we had! Sunday afternoon was listening to old records, and this music is forever in my heart. There is nothing today that compares to this!
I'm 85 and enjoyed travelling back to hear the music of my era. Living in England during those years i particularly loved WE'LL MEET AGAIN -, IT'S A LOVELY DAY TOMORROW,- WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER,- HARRY LIME THEME,- DON'T LET'S BE BEASTLY TO THE GERMAN'S,- UMBRELLA MAN. ,- and UNDERNEATH THE ARCHES. They were all very popular in England during the 1940's .America probably never heard any of them, but if you like that era's music, they are worth Googling for a listen.
I was born in British Columbia Canada in 1933, one of 4 daughters. We sang most of these songs in the forties. My brother was a pilot in the RCAF consequently, “ The White Cliffs Of Dover “ was a favourite of mine given that his name was Jimmy, and I liked the line in the song referring to the war’s end “ And Jimmy will go to sleep in his own little room again.” Sadly, he never returned, dying at the age of 21 years in 1944. I love the song “we’ll meet again.”

I listen to all the music from Bing Crosby to Ed Shearan, and everyone in between . At 75 years old I think I am lucky to have enjoyed all this music, from listening to it on the radio to today with my iPhone and AirPods. If I had to pick out special ones it would be Enya, Doris Day and Roy Orbison. Loads of runners up, example Johnny Mathis.

Ya'll aren't alone. I grew up listening to this type of music and have always loved it since I was introduced to it! Even in school, I was always in my own little world with classic music stuck in my heart, soul, and mind. Thank God for classic music and smooth rhythms.
I was born in 1949 and I have an original 78 lp recording of "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" that i had as child, My grandparents lived over a bar that they owned. I lived with them for three years and thereafter on many weekends until I was 16 or so. I fell asleep to a lot of these songs cause the bar didn't close until 2 a.m.
are the reason I love old music they’re amazing singers and none of them auto tuned or mumbled anything And all of their music is extremely comforting and soothing sometimes sad and sometimes gets you going Love Love Love It!!!

In my teens, I always boasted I would never never get old-----life sure is short. My gen had the best of R&R prior to 1969---we wore the mini skirt, textured stockings, the bubble and bikini haircuts and our beginning dance moves fast and slow were from your gen. ----and of course we were the gen of the twist and "the land of a thousand dances." thanks for our early childhood memories --always associated with your music.

Thank you for this lovely "blast from the past!" I was not born until after the 1940s but I remember hearing a lot of these songs as a kid and today I was surprised by how many great singers I had not heard of but who deserve to be better known (at least by me) Who was the handsome guy whose picture appeared at the end please? So to all you greatest generation people, I hope you feel the same way
These pre-date me, My mother was born in 1940 and my father, in 1934. I loved them my whole life and so do my daughters. We can all sing every one. I learned the clarinet because of my love for Big Band music.
I was born in 1943 and some of these songs I heard over the radio when growing up; Perry Como, Nat King Cole, Doris Day, Bing Crosby, Andrew Sisters, etc.
These song are not of my era, but brother I love them, this is music, melodías, voices and style. I do love it. My favorite music from the 40s tell beginning of the 90s. Now the music we have now I don't know how explained it. At last we can still listen i5.
I have been into these kinds of songs for over a year now. It has that feeling no other music has. It takes me back to a time I wasn’t even there. Music nowadays are no where close to being as good as these classics
I was born in 1937 and the first song I remember hearing on the radio was "pistol packing mama and I could sing the first chorus Still love the big band sound
YOU THINK ONLY 14 YEAR OLDS LIKE THIS,I LISTENED TO THIS MUSIC WHEN I WAS 6,Now I’m 11,And I never what these songs were called,But now I know,And I love this music, My classmates say “Step up here,Your all the way back there,It’s 2019 now,” And I reply back with “Ehhh I love my music I’ll love till death”I LOVE THIS MUSIC IT THRILLS ME
I am sixteen and I love this kind of stuff! Couldn't bare to listen to trash sounds they produce nowadays. The Andrews Sisters are my absolute favorites😇😍
You’re not the first young one I’ve heard this from. I’m approaching my 60s I have a daughter approaching teen years. Yeah I started late I guess. She likes music from my era 70s and 80s. And I’m here becoivr heard that era a little much of late so I decided to go back in time a bit further. It’s interesting
I've been doing research on the musical influences in the 40s and the incorporation of them with more modern sounds and this list was absolutely great for that. Thanks
I remeber all most every song, even from when I was young during the war, I am now 89, and the memories of my Mom and family will always be the most cherished of my life!
Not lightly, good music take lots of dedication and talent and the easy money is in the garbage music the new generation gravitated to. Funny Japan has some good Big Bands.
They just don't compose or write songs like these anymore. Dylan was right in that the times did change...but, perhaps not for the best. Thank God for UA-cam as a place of repose for the beauty of the past.
I love the romantic songs of the Thirties anď forties altho l was born in 1943. But, the country ballads Now are also soothing and very Pleasing to me! Witness the lovely Songs written by the master Willie Nelson.
That was nice. Some of the music I never heard before. I think that might be because I come from the center of the continent. As I recall, most of the music I heard was western---living due north of Texas by the Canadian border. Lots of Sons of the Pioneers and others of that era. Thx for the music.
My Late Father whom was born in 1923 grew up listening to all of these great Songs. I like to believe they got him through WW2 while serving in the Navy. He passed his love for this kind of music to me and my Sister and we learned to love it also.

I'm 128 years old and this reminds me so much of when I was a yute. Thanks to Jack Lalanne principles of fitness I'm still here and now get to enjoy music memories that span over a 100 years. Each decade was unique and different and great in their own ways but this is my favorite era because before than it was just old folks music. I still get down however to The Doors, my next favorite era but I was already mellowing out by then raising kids and would not regain my groove until a decade later when Studio 54 opened. Fast forward the clock 40 years later and here I am still a TOOL, Pink Floyd, Brothers Johnson, and Waylon Jennings fan.
I may not have a popular opinion but listening to music this music from this decade as well as other music from the 30’s to 80’s brings joy to me. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t mind today’s music but this type of music is also more superior as it reminds me of my grandparents when they were young.
@@speakerzjj9842 Hey, you really don't need to be so mean, this fine man just wanted to tell everyone that he enjoyed these songs, many people from many different generations have done the exact same thing. Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and these opinions can be freely debated, but simply stating ones own opinion as fact, especially in such a rude and condescending manner is not in anyway appropriate given that the original comment was not written in such manner. Please keep this in mind, as people don't like in it when others are needlessly rude. Have a nice day, and God bless you.

I am 85 too. Living in Glasgow heard lots of this. I think war produces a need for sentimentally, we had lost so many in ww1.
When I was four in 1941 in Glasgow my sister would sing we’ll meet again while bombs fell! Great collection but heart breaking!
Vera Lynn had such a beautiful voice. The forces sweetheart 💕
Reminds me of the good old days at home listening to music w/ mama on the hi-fi..thanks for sharing
Hi, Beatrice nice to meet you here, how are you doing today?
Hi there, Good evening. I'm David Matthet by name. And originally from Italy. But I am currently working in Mexico. And am involved in oil drilling and exploration. I enjoy exploring new places and trying out new activities such as hiking and mountain biking. Seeing your profile put a smile on my face. I would really love to get to know you better. Is there anything you would like to tell me about yourself? I'm all ears. And I hope to hear from you soon Ok.👍

Hello Elstine, how is things going with you ?

These belong to my parents gen---I grew up hearing these on radio-phonograph and car radio. Christina, maureen, and charles well wishes to you. Be young at heart always.
Did you love Justin Beiber in recent times?
Thank you for this lovely "blast from the past!" I was not born until after the 1940s but I remember hearing a lot of these songs as a kid and today I was surprised by how many great singers I had not heard of but who deserve to be better known (at least by me)
Who was the handsome guy whose picture appeared at the end please?

To Saffron's World, if you so happen to see this, I apologize for my speech hereafter, I also apologize on the behalf of SPEAKERZ Jj for spoiling this comment thread in the first place. With that out of the way, I wish to say to SPEAKERS Jj: I said in a different reply to you: "God bless you"
I wish to retract that statement, as you deserve no blessing from the Lord God at this time, going along with that, if your life continues in the same way your comments have, I am most assured you will suffer endlessly in Hell, which is partially why you deserve no blessing of God. So I also wish to say, fuck you. Fuck you bitch, you are a piece of shit. Nobody fucking cares about your opinions in music, if you don't want to watch this video because you are not interested, click away, or select not interested so as not to see it again. Now are also soothing and very
