Conversing is an art and skill like any other, so it needs to be practiced. It allows the individual to hear what they sound like and adjust their tone/meaning prior to an actual conversation; similar to how a singer sings to themselves regularly for refinement. =D

Lucille de Lorme not so with everyone. I don't see myself as highly intelligent but I know that I'm very creative and resourceful. I like reading , Play Katahn studied music , I am artistic but I also don't brag about it and mostly keep things to myself . I have seen people who think they're intelligent and they boast and brag and talk way too much or use big words to sound intelligent. I am introverted and like to spend a lot of quiet time to myself and my creative hobbies. I don't need any video to tell me if I'm intelligent or not to make me feel better about myself. I am who I am . In fact I find it very hard to be around people who act like they're intelligent.

I think many aspects of intelligence represent extremes as compared with normal human behavior. These extremes are by definition abnormal and hence can easily be seen as weird.
I also get the impression that some psychiatric disorders are sometimes extreme talents in disguise.

Intelligent people don't bother to remember trivia or where they put things as they are too often deep in thought. They would have long memories on observations or other knowledge worth noting. So this is not a contradiction. I can't remember where I put my keys, I can remember habits my childhood friends had that I noted at the time and never forgot about.
I know you are joking, but: it's a different kind of memory. Smart people tend to remember important things, like every book they ever read, but forget trivial things, like where they put their keys.

I love talking to my cat and dog, no chance of getting into a frustrating conversation like you do with people even from small talk, also sometimes I have imaginary conversations with people in my head, they're always normal interactions, the ones that would never happen if you were actually speaking to someone
This is very interesting. I've never considered myself particularly intelligent but this rings true. I suppose it is a lack of self confidence that stops people capitalising on their intelligence.

+Falling Up Some intelligent people feel they are intelligent, but social experiences can make us feel like there is something wrong with us, so we see videos like this and click them to see if it's just us or if our social/life problems are shared by others as well, who are intelligent. Curious people tend to be smart. Think about it, if you're always curious, you're always willing to learn. Curious people learn a little bit about everything. All walks of life. By learning a little bit about everything, you'll always know something... On each topic.
Being genetically curious, may be the key to "overall" intelligence. Not just thriving in one area such as a sport or guitar. Passion plays vital roles in those areas.
The key if you are born super bright is to stay away from ignoramuses in your own family or in society or even in the church for that matter.
IGNORAMUSES are many they are found in your own family like a low-life aunt or uncle, a pastor or priest who is a dirty piece of trash who is a so called man of the cloth who is a complete jerk off!!! or low-life people who want to use violence against the innocent. I grew up thinking I was dumb. find out as i gotten older that sitting in a classroom studying for grades was not what life is really about. now I thrive on studying things I love. never let government rule schooling tell you your worth!!!
same with me, i was always behind at school had behaviour problems and just didn't get the bs they where pushing all the time, but when i stepped out, i became obsessed with research and pretty much am the fountain of knowledge to my friends and family lol

I scored on at least 9. I don't generally go to bed late. I go to bed around 9:30 pm and get up around 6:30 or 7. My brain feels better that way and I can think more clearly. But unfortunately, being highly intelligent or being a genius doesn't mean you're destined to have lots of money or a happy life. Lots of factors play in making lots of money including personality, chances, opportunities, environment. Being intelligent and genius is just one of those factors, but that alone isn't enough ingredient to having lots of money and a happy life.

If you do all ten, you ARE using your brain, learning more as you go, remembering more, forgetting because it may not be important to you, and you haven't been challenged enough to "see" the real you! As a child I was constantly yelled at for staying up late (watching adult talk shows, reading under the covers), having a messy room (today my office looks like a scene from Hoarders). I've always talked to myself, thought it was an 'only child' thing. Taught myself to read one word at a time from asking my mother about the words I saw on billboards. I read the San Francisco Chronicle and comic books. By the time I was 10 I was teaching reading to 2nd graders. I forget where I put my purse, keys, cell phone, I can't remember certain nouns or names of people or movie titles.
I am the most broadly curious person I know. When I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 50 (curiosity got me to read Driven by Distraction, then I saw a specialist) I thought that explained a lot. Now I will have to read some more books!
BTW being smart doesn't mean you'll be a success. I have screwed up lots of opportunities and made a gazillion bad decisions.
At least I didn't vote for Trump. That would have required being stupid or mentally incompetant.
In fact, this was so illogical that it was only a cheap try to cheat us all.
I scored a 150 on an IQ test, and since then I have been watching videos like this, to gain greater insight into why I have always felt like an oddity. I am beginning to understand why I rarely felt like I fit in, among my peer group. I always gravitated towards older people and their music, their style of dress, etc. Now I am starting to see why.

Okay, I needed this! Thinking I lack intelligence has become commonplace for me. I was able to conclude that ALL the characteristics apply to me. One exception is likely concerning my liking to be messy. Actually, I tend to be messy, but, I don't like being this way. I also get these moments where I suddenly get an urge to organize, clean, and straighten-up my surroundings... until things get very messy again. 🤔🥺😉☺
I habitually soliloquize very loudly to myself quite often. It reinforces my thought process and self esteem. I find it very very hard to convince people that is isn't insanity but they won't just believe me. Your information so far has helped me a great deal to repose my self confidence. Thanks

At different times I have wondered what my general IQ was. The only clues I had were that I had taken a type of intelligence test in 8th grade, and one of the student aides had told me. But I thought she might have just made up that she knew trying to impress. Years after I took some online IQ tests- free ones, but some pretty elaborate at ~45 minutes long or so. They roughly agreed with the 8th grade tests- all had similar number ranges. Then I had a brilliant thought, lol.. I had taking the Armed Forces battery- the ASVAB. The test has a large job aptitude section. But the single number "raw score", as I researched, is an actual IQ test score- it was originated by the US Army, who has been doing IQ tests longer that anyone.. over 100 years. There are two major brands of testing, so the raw score was multipied by .95, or 1.05- close enough not to matter much. So, my ASVAB raw score was 131. This is pretty close to the other tests.
Now, I remember mentioning this to my sister, a teacher, who said generally 'do you think so? That's pretty high up there'. My thinking was eh, it's not that unusual.. the 'gifted' or college prep section of HS always had plenty of students, that IQ level I've heard started at ~115. And I've always known people who I knew were intrinsically smarter than me. Some much smarter. Then again, statistically a ~130 IQ is in the 97 or 98 percentile rank. Kind of scary in a way. I think that's the reason my sister was so surprised- she works with a large sample everyday and it is by definition rare. But I just feel I have lived around many who are just a smart as myself, certainly not only two or three out of a hundred! So, while I identify with many points in this vid, and sometimes see myself as more "inquisitive" of some things as others around me, I think their are different types of intelligence in use by different people at different times- for different reasons. There are lots of amazingly 'smart' folks. Well, enough babble..

@Jonathan Still I agree with you Jonathan. You can't live your life worried about what people think about you. The important people in my life know me and love me, no one else matters. My family has alot of smart artistic types so it's not unusual to us. As long as you're happy with who you are who cares what anyone thinks.
You couldn't have said it any better Jonathan. I watched those programs when I was very young. Even then I thought they were a bit odd and goofy. Today TV programs show a different kind of family with different values. But life is change and I will go on talking to myself,even in public. It keeps me in the moment and sane.

Nails it for the most part but like anything else there are always pros and cons! Could relate to most of them and am a bookaholic! Love reading about many different interesting topics and traveling which is the best education of all. I disagree with the staying up all night though, that is NOT good for one's health and really screws up one's Circadian rhythm! Scientists, i.e. sleep specialists and medical doctors have already proven that people who work the 'grave yard shift' end up suffering from depression and other illnesses. My late husband was a night owl and he had Diabetes Type 2 and dropped dead of a heart attack at age 66. His father had healthier habits and lived into his 80s but it's all individual and nothing is carved in stone! But one needs to take care of themselves HOLISTICALLY, body, mind and spirit because it's ALL CONNECTED! Thanks for sharing~ very interesting indeed!

I can see the truth of these 10 signs of highly intelligent people however I do take exception to the messy idea of being creative. I've found in life as well as in reading that the most intelligent and creative people in history and the present are those who are also orderly, organized and have a tendency to toward cleanliness. That's not to say that they are clean freaks and don't at times leave things messy when they are in the throes of creative intelligence but as a general rule of thumb they usually are or have exhibited the nature of cleanliness as a natural trait or by force of habit. I enjoyed your video though! Keep em coming!
i hv a very intelligent friend in my maths class nd its like i cant just defeat her. its so fun discussing problems with her coz she always gives unique ideas.nd our teacher always appreciates her.gosh she is awesome.i often get disturbed from my thinking whenever there is noise nd i get easily tensed too.i think i need to learn to be relaxed.
"Intelligence" to me seems almost impossible to quantify. 9 out of 10 things on this list sounded just like me but I honestly don't consider myself to be smart but people tell me all the time that I am. I know that was one of the things that said you might actually be smart but I just don't feel like I have very good problem solving skills necessarily and do feel like I have a lot of "knowledge" on things I like BUT I personally feel like true "intelligence" can be much more practical than just knowing lots about certain interests you may have. I'm absolutely not a mechanically inclined person and can barely manage to put gas in my car and yet there are folks that couldn't hardly give you the time of day with a digital watch that can take a car apart and put it back together. However, most "intellectuals" would look at a car and not even know what the steering wheel was for. I just view true intelligence as being able to practically apply useful skills as opposed to just accumulating trivial knowledge which is what I feel like I do myself. Does this make sense to anyone else?

These are cool. Have no idea if I'm a genius; though I keep telling myself I am; because I believe in the power of the subconscious mind; and with enough affirmations, consistently enough; I've observed so many wonders that couldn't be explained via normal every day kind of logic. What I can say; is that a lot of these videos seemingly contradict one another. But an interesting thing about ALL contradictions and non contradictions is that they only SEEM to be contradictions at a certain level of viewpoint or energy; but as you move into deeper understanding; you begin to see how ALL things are related. This is such a wondrous feeling.
Like the first time I remember seeing the dawn racing toward me over the treetops and rooftops. If you listen hard; you will hear a sound. Often I hear that sound echoed by some appliances. If you stay utterly present... you can feel a PRESENCE; as if something is both watching and listening to you and dancing with you.
And I believe this Presence has a GREAT sense of humor. To me... the height of intelligence is having a sense of humor; and being able to relate in that way to just about anyone or anything.
Thank you very much because I was thinking input myself less than others but after seeing this video I found all above 10 qualities in myself. So I am very happy now and feel myself genius.
