84 years old. This just gob smacks me. I remember Grace when she was in her 20's. Marty's gone. Paul's gone. Spencer's gone. Only 3 left from the Airplane: Jack, Jorma and Grace. Goddamn but that makes me so sad.......

One thing that every female rock singer had in common , they had to climb those stairs that were built solidly by the voice of"The Chrome Nun" !! She sat the bar so high that few ever got very close . Stevie Nicks and Ann Wilson in my opinion ,are the only two to share those upper steps with Grace. No matter her state of mind Grace emitted the vibes of a true artist. And today, watch her interviews and no matter what you see , look into those eyes and you can still feel her soul. Thank you Grace for your gift to us all !!

I grew up in the 60s but oddly, didn't know much about Grace Slick until today. I was watching a show and White Rabbit (which I hadn't heard for a long time) was playing in the background so I went to investigate who wrote it (senior memory!) I ended up on a journey of discovery about Grace Slick, including her paintings (many of which I like a lot). I did not realize what an animal lover she is, and clearly a very intelligent and vastly talented woman.

This makes me terminally nostalgic for a time that can be compared to no other. If I had to be born, at least I got to live in that era. People today are mostly shallow as hell and get butt hurt at the drop of a hat. Grace and Joan were pure gold.

You said it. This must be synchronicity in action, because yesterday I checked out her performance of White Rabbit at Woodstock. Yep -- better than I remembered! And we thought it would just get better, but sadly, it kind of all went down the crapper.

Live in nostalgia. There is a cosmic reciprocity between what has happened and one’s memory of it that provides nourishment to the soul and to the spirit of the era possessing you. It is great respect to their memory and is noticed by the unseen forces through which our vitality is influenced subconsciously. We should live in our nostalgia, but innovate, branch out, and make contemporary choices in a contemporary world and never let it become a dark void inside, but a continual fount of inspiration, or a home for the soul.

Their comment on hunters. My husband and his father would hunt and bring the meat home to eat. You had to have a permit to hunt. If you hunted and killed without a permit there were hefty fines and could be jail time too. The forest service had a limit for the permit to hunt and kill as well.

They had one thing in common. Both, went to finishing school back when women were actually required to by well-to-do parents if they weren't married by a certain age. They both started their careers at the exact same time. It doesn't surprise me. They both went against the norm and won in the end. It certainly shows, here.

I heard her voice on a song the other day & realized how much I miss her. I understand why she wanted to avoid the rock scene as she aged, but contributing vocals to songs behind the scenes would have been a good compromise. That glorious singing voice still had the ability to make people's lives happier and it seems tragic that it was shut down too early.

Amazing to see both of 'em, now. I think what we think of celebrities is determined by unfriendly photo editors.
