I always find it fascinating that, despite all the technological developments like electricity and, more recently, AI, thoughts from 2000 years ago are still just as valid and useful as they were when they were written.
Life is new for everyone and technology will never make life as such better or safe humanity in any way. I find it hard to apply tipps of a Roman emperor in my commoner life. Talking about not getting mad over things you can‘t change as a Roman emperor….😂 come on. People not able to change anything doing what a Roman emperor said…😂😂😂😂😂…kind of really dumbed down slaves trying to be dumbed down stoic slaves.
lol, lmao even. It really is true that if you go far enough in the world you'll find someone truly believing the wrong to be right. "Just do something"

Action towards what though? I’m kind to people when given the opportunity, I call out injustice when I get the opportunity, I do more than most in my position. Sure I’m not really taking actions towards like getting rich but idrc about that. I’m not obligated to do anything for anyone, there’s nothing wrong with living for myself, and yet I still care for others, enough that I’m one of the few really honest people I know. I know I CAN do more, and I likely will as I continue to grow. I’m only 24, I do believe that there is such a thing as the right moment. Yes I do procrastinate on some things more than I probably should, but I’m continuing to get better at that and I accomplish all the things I NEED to. I get this video is supposed to be for the purpose of motivating people but I think it also comes across as a tad judgemental. I don’t owe anyone anything, if anything most people owe me an apology for their disgusting behavior
No complex vocabulary, no weird sentence structuring, just pure thoughts aimed for everyone who stumbles across the video, this is pure humbleness from him ya know, great message btw
"I don't know about the next time. This one time, I'm saying no." - this is so calming. The pain in the present moment is all I'll ever have to endure because it's all I can ever experience. The future remains uncertain and the past is unreachable. Thank you, I think you just changed my life.
This just happened to me ! I stood up to my supervisor after constant verbal abuse and told him off , to never speak down to me or disrespect me again. He apologized but it’s too late. . I left him and moved on
I don't have many friends, I can barely count them on one hand, and online I might have few people who check on me regularly, but there are some type of people that I'd like to be friends with and love to keep, however I can't find them, this channel kind of made me feel like I'm listening to a friend I yearn to have some intellectual conversations with and hear what he has to say.. I think that's the beauty of youtube, when you look for the good, it will find you! today is also my birthday and I feel happy that I get to hear something good and yes I'm just treating it like any other day :)
Ive spoken to a psychotherapist every week for the last 18 or so months and you have done more for me and my wellbeing in the last 2 weeks, for free, than any other singular source I've ever encountered. Thank you again for being a concise, coherent conduit toward inner strength.
Sometimes psychotherapy is subtle, with no instant or obvious results. Maybe these 18 months taught you to reflect better and only because of it you can get the idea behind this video. Don’t devalue bro’s work))) And yes, of course, there are times when the psychotherapist is shit 😄😄
just pulled my little book of Marcus Aurelius Meditations - Living, Dying and the Good Life - down from the shelf and dusted it off, probably been there for 20 years or more.......often thought,' Must get into that book one day.....' Hmmm 🙏
Yes, our lives can be determined by our "nos" rather than anything else, cause how else can we navigate so many illusions, intrusions, prejudices...Only by processing each one of them at a time and see them for what they are and responding no can only lead us to what truly resonates.
I love the fact how calm you are, And more than that, it’s interesting that you choose every word you express wisely and sensibly. Keep that mindset up, it will take you to the top. Appreciate you
"The tranquility that comes when you stop caring what they say. Or think, or do. Only what you do." Also great video buddy Cheers!
A friend of mine sent me the book meditations while i was in jail last year. Theres a very compelling and respectable quality about the way he views the human mind along with how he viewed his close relationships and being a leader. He definitely wasnt perfect as a ruler but to me he is almost the perfect standard being met for using his time wisely and learning from his mistakes. Unapologetic of his human nature all the while. Your videos are interesting, you have a comforting voice that makes it easy to stay engaged. Thanks for making these. Also you are fine af. So theres that.
This is the third time I’ve watched this video. It is so important to keep our word to ourselves. As humans we must evolve which often makes us uncomfortable initially. But once we can get past that initial discomfort is when we thrive. Thank you for your ever so insightful videos. I am so grateful for them during this particular journey in my life.
lol same for me, i actually set out to watch it every day for 1 week maybe even a month. i want to internalize it into a habit. And completely agree with you. I think what's so frustrating is that we know all these truths or "meditations" somehow deep internally, but often subconsciously or consciously ignore them. wish you all the best for your journey!
Everything is behaviour, reaction and response, and is just happening, keep leaving, keep going instead analysing, NOW is everything; very inspiring , thank you
Great perspective. I always had this repetitive pattern were I tell myself to not do something but break my promise , I get tired because of how undisciplined I'm . Now I'm gonna try to focus on the moment that I'm in like my life depends on it .
It is scary how...the things I'm going through and this video pops up like some very explicit sign. I appreciate your content and thoughts that are put forward in a realistic, straightforward way that allows us to face a brutal truth but also instils hope. Subscribed :)
Sometimes I wish to go back, to fix situations I fucked up. Yet, without these experiences, I wouldn’t be who I am right now. And honestly, I’m much better. ❤ Thanks for sharing
We are a series of choices that we are making with every single passing moment. Some with intention, some with pure innate intuition. These may be unknown to our conscious minds but are so deeply influenced by our values, beliefs & our aspirations for the future we seek. Hence, in every moment we are presented with a fair choice of making better choices, until the wiser choosing becomes an effortless nature. Videos like these prove to be such powerful influences for presenting us with ideas to be making those ‘better’ choices upon. ❤
I've been dieting on and off for years now but have only gained more weight. Thank you for this inspiring and motivating video. Your lack of fancy or big words make it even better.
Thank you so much, watching your content always has a profound effect in me, like it was exactly what I was searching for. Each video somehow applies to my current situation in life, it's kind of amazing! Thank you again!
I've been watching through your videos over the past few weeks. I really think your channel is going to majorly help thousands of people. Better than therapy for many. Keep it up!
beautiful video and eloquently put. i am very grateful to have come across your channel recently. it has helped me tremendously through some tough times. thank you for creating these.
that's a great quote and video. I have been feeling that in the last weeks, that my work has to be done every waking moment. And that I had all the tools I needed, that I studied long enough to know there was no deeper work than choosing my emotions every single moment of awareness I can grasp, especially going through a normal day with work, activities and people.
Hi 👋 I wanted to thank you a lot, you've helped me with my constant anxiety. I would run from situations and people, lie on my resume and in interviews, make up extra details telling a story to impress a potential partner, etc. It never dawned on me that this is unnatural. I always thought I was a straightforward person. In reality my actions didn't reflect this at all. This video and your explanation of the quote, brought me tremendous clarity and comfort, to know that all it takes is acting like my ideal self in this present moment and that every other point in time contributes nothing but unnecessary agony to my mind. You're truly awesome and a gift to the UA-cam community.
