It's ok. If there's a good flight deal or you have a loved one/friend who lives in Portugal than it's worth checking out, but I wouldn't go out of my way for here. The driving is amazing, the nature is amzing, it is very unique, but it's very very boring and sleepy. And there aren't a lot of hikes but I'm from Utah so maybe my standards on that are too high. 10/12 months it's gloomy (still beautiful) but there are 2 months where it's sunny and hot and I think that's the time to visit and enjoy the pool clubs
Renting from the airport is the best option, but reserve in advance. We went with Ilha Verde, a local company. This post has a lot more info: www.jaredsdetours.com/azores-driving/
"You'll find narrow streets in Ponta Delgada" You have no idea, my friend. I'm from here, and even I get surprised by how extremely narrow some are (even outside Ponta Delgada) 🤣

My driving experience in the Azores was awesome seven years ago--until I fueled up with the wrong kind of gas as I returned to the rental company. An expensive and time-consuming mistake. Be sure you are clear about that.
Yes, we relied heavily on Google Maps. Booking the car in advance will usually get you a better deal ... and ensure you'll get the type of car you want. Many will offer free cancelation until you arrive. I have more info here: www.jaredsdetours.com/azores-driving/
Thanks! Great info
Glad it helped!
The Azores are moving up on my list of places to visit.
It's a beautiful place!!

Thank you!
Thanks for checking out our video :)
My wife and I will be there in a few weeks. Looking forward to our visit to a very beautiful and interesting country.
I'm jealous - enjoy your trip!
Cool, but Portugal don't want more Americans living there :)
Very important to mention, an automatic car will cost you double than the manual, you might also have to pay a deposit that could cost 1K+
Hi Jared! Thank you. So, you felt it was fine to rent from the airport, and not in advance? Which company did you end up going with?

Oh no! I hope they were understanding!
