A little factoid about the 441... Customer deliveries of the $895,000 Model 441 began in September 1977. Just two months later, the sixth airplane off the production line came apart over Greensboro, Ala., killing all seven aboard. The engines were working fine and weather wasn't a factor. That crash triggered the FAA's grounding of the entire 441 fleet-twice-between 1977 and 1979. Cessna ended up redesigning key tail-section components, retrofitting the entire fleet and providing customers with loaner aircraft. The program affected nearly 100 airplanes and still stands as one of the largest and most expensive factory field modifications of a business aircraft ever.
@@EvanLuft Back in the 90's my Dad flew a Conquest II when he worked for NASA. I was lucky enough to fly right seat with him a few times (I was in my twenties) when he would take it on the hour long flight to Dallas for line maintenance or A-checks. It's a sweet airplane, for sure. You're lucky you get to fly one! I never followed in my father's footsteps but now at the ripe old age of 54 I'm working on my PPL. Then I'm planning on buying my own bush plane. Thanks again for the video!
Absolutely GREASED it! Great landing. And cloud surfing with your buddies in a Cessna 425 at a leisurely 14,000 feet. Just doesn't get any better than that.
Awesome fun. Its years since I changed a tyre on an aircraft. I'm quite surprised that they have tubes in. I was always taught that tubes and tyres cause friction.
Haha identify yourself! We probably know eachother!! Lol I’m not sure where KTN is… although I think it was in Grande Prairie for a while! :) which 425 are you flying??? :)
@@EvanLuft lol… I wish I flew the mighty Conquest. I worked on the airport in Vernon when KTN/KTL were around, helped out with the the maintenance too. I knew VAX well too actually. I drive seaplanes VFR, never worked myself in to the IFR world… yet anyways.
As far as I’m concerned your skiing skills are great, but I’ve never skied or seen snow even….BUT I’m a former figure skater (indoor obviously) oh and your brothers landing was smooth, but yours that I’ve seen are smoother!
They do if you need more weight on the wheels for braking. Sometimes I’ll leave them down though as they can add drag and just use beta range on the power to slow down… minimizing the use of brakes.
Well I’m all honesty… it’s near impossible to actively avoid a bird strike if you see one headed straight for you. By luck usually you miss them but the most important thing is maintaining control of the airplane. So continue the approach, watch out for large flocks and report them to other aircraft if they are significant risk. Otherwise. By the time you spot the bird… you’re not in a position to move the airplane enough one way or the other to avoid it haha
Nope jerry, I am the same way. I had a garmin touch screen completely freeze up once and had to restart it in flight. They’ve been bullet proof all other times but… I grew up learning on steam gauges. Lol
Cloud surfing, silly ski action, and field repairs - this vid is wonderful.
Haha we always make adventures worth recording man!
agreed

thats fascinating. ive heard about this but never looked into it. I know that we have to ndt tail bolts regularly.

Did that also affect the 425? I always thought it was 441 only... but then I am a Merlin Metro flyer.
Love it man! Love your production style.
Thanks so much! Trying to keep flying fun despite the covid destruction to aviation!
this channel is a shiny little gold nugget
Thanks a lot! I’ll keep pumping Em out!
Que aeronave boa! Parece ser bem confortável nesta configuração!.

Haha he did! I want to take credit as his teacher but I’ve made some nasty landings before hahaha :p where do uou fly?!?
nice stable approach just past the numbers = perfect for a first timer, or was it a first? nice legs too in the snow LOL
Awesome fun.

I'm quite surprised that they have tubes in. I was always taught that tubes and tyres cause friction.
Hi Simon! You are right about that, are tubeless more reliable than tubes?
@@EvanLuft not a clue. At keast with a tube, you just need to carry a spare and not a whole wheel.
Big fan from Germany here, love your vids and doing my PPL next year!
Thank you so much!! :) fantastic!! I just learned how to paraglide from a German fella here in canada!! :)
Thanks Evan
:)
Love these videos man
Thanks buddy!!!
Your hospital gown is certainly fashion forward 😆😆 Hey man, love your channel 🙌👍👍
Hahahahaha thanks a lot Ted! Means a lot :)
Tu avión me encanta. Tiene tremda línea 😅
STUNNING VIDEO AS USUAL!!
YOU DEFINITELY ENJOY YOUR A/C ONE OF THE BEST TURBO PROP AIRCRAFT, FLYING MAGAZINE CALLS IT "THE GENTLEMANS AIRPLANE" bc
Great video!
Crazy, I was literally just wondering where KTL and her sister ship ever ended up, then randomly came across this video 🤷🏼♂️

why did he open the window during the rollout, was it that hot inside?
Haha honestly…. I always do that because I love the sound of those pratts! Haha
Is this your plane?

Hahaha! Thanks! :) that’s awesome!! I play a lot of hockey, but figure skating is a whole other level! Add me on Insta!! We can keep in touch!
Why do u guys bring the flaps up so quickly....they aid in slowing you down ?

@@EvanLuft thanks Evan.... love your videos
Thanks a lot!! I’m glad!! :)
I like Canada and the U.S. when people have the same relationship with GA airplanes like other people in oher countries have with their family cars.
your shirt looks like a hospital robe you wear when u go in for surgery lol
You referring to the tshirt one? Haha
I play puck as well👍
hockey is our way of life up here :p
Great video! How exactly would you avoid a bird in this type of situation? (I am considering getting my license so i know nothing)

Fun video. Would be better with ATC and cockpit audio :)
Yeah I’m torn between cockpit audio and narration haha I get mixed comments on it so it would be nice if I could do both! :)
@@EvanLuft Your narration is great, just a bit of ATC and cockpit audio would kick it up a notch. Cheers!
Am I the only one that likes some analog/some digital as opposed to all digital, or all analog instruments?

Nice Hospital shirt
Hahahhaha thanks
I watch the episode where they go skiing on my dream plane
Haha yes! Do you have your ppl??
@@EvanLuft Yes I do.
Turbine is pronounced turban, not turbyne.
Great video. Sick of all tge video's where they ruin the awesome sound of turbines with music
Thanks Darryl! Turbines are music ;)
Excellent !!!
Thank you! :)
Very nice plane
