6 months into taking acting classes and actually studying it. Whatever idea i had regarding acting, and what it is, the last thing i EVER imagined that i will have to say to myself while walking this path was to be brave. I didn't realize how much courage and confidence you actually need to really connect in the moment. The last thing i thought i will need is to NOT be scared when the moment rolls. It is a challenge, for sure!

It seems to me that we love great acting because it allows us to connect to other people on a deep level. It eases the isolation we feel in our inner lives.

It's crazy how helpful this is to aspiring writers as well. I guess it all comes down to telling stories with great characters.

Character, from the Greek word "χαρακτήρας", was a term originally used for a mark impressed upon a coin. Nowadays, it is known as the sum of all the attributes, such as integrity, courage, fortitude, honesty , and loyalty , in a person. Character is perhaps the most important essence a person can possess, as it defines who a person is. To strengthen one's character is to mould oneself into a productive person within one's sphere of influence. Read on below the jump for some advice on how to strengthen your own character, or to train your moral discipline.

I've always wanted to be someone else.... I dont know if that is a flaw of my personnality or that i should get into acting ; i've always seen acting as a catharsis act

+chemeli LM I would say, just try (acting) and see if you like it. A lot of actors find that the experience of acting fills in some missing elements in their lives, and can be transformative. If it turns out to be true for you, you can then pursue it; if not, you'll know and can keep searching.

Acting is all about being yourself actually bc you cant act someone when you dont have their characteristics somewhere in you so you really need to know yourself

WHY WHY WHY Doesn't this have more views! You helped me so much! I am only in high school, and I was cast as Serena Katz in fame the musical. I have been struggling so hard to get in touch with my character and give a convincing performance. The show is in 2 weeks. I don't have much formal acting expereince and you helped me a lot! Do you have any tips for non-experienced actors on the stage? :)
