Michael Shannon might be the last person I thought I'd see in the Test Kitchen and yet I'm super into it. He's one of my favorite actors.
This was delightful. I was worried because he seemed a lil tense at first but they seemed liked they had such a nice time.

Carla has actual talent as an interviewer. Casually asking leading questions, all while keeping the prep going.
Yeah! it's a shame that the editing focused more on the cooking than their dynamic tho :( It seemed at the end they had had a great experience, but we missed a lot of that intermittent conversation. What a cool guy! I'm v much looking forward to that omelette episode

Love when Michael's humor is dry, he's hilarious and I hope he starts going for more comedic roles.
Some people are serious with a face for comedy, he has a comedic spirit with a face for drama.
No one would cast him. :( Many actors want to be in comedy but have to play against type, in his case, very very very against type.

It's mainly the frying part that deters people because it is a process that can go very badly if you screw up. Hot oil is serious business and can result in fire or serious burns if you mess around. That being said, if you do your homework and are properly prepared, you should be fine. I encourage you to give it a try someday because the end result will blow you away, just make sure you are knowledgable enough to be confident in your actions and be safe.
prepping and cleaning up a giant pot of fry oil is not fun

I love how everyone shows up kind of unsure of themselves but just really falls into it when they get comfortable with the instructions & pace. Michael Shannon seems like one of the coolest dudes to hang around. Like he's a super chill guy that accidentally ended up being famous.
