Doesn't matter the length of video, it's the accuracy and in-depth knowledge and analysis that's important. Thanks and always try and have a great day.
Don, William Moore here. I have always been interested in small engine repair. Although until the last few years I was a full time career businessman. Finally retired!!! So, now I have time and the desire to learn and understand Small Engine repair. Don I have viewed a number of your videos and they are very well directed and informative and easy to follow. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talent with us all. It certainly shows how much you know of your trade. I will be tuning in as much as possible. Thank You again Don.
Shorter for simpler projects; longer for the more complex.I am in the process of changing the lower drive belt on my MTD. It's not the same mower as the one in the video, but still saw some things that I think will simplify my process. Thank you.
In my case, this longer, more detailed video is what I would need in order to get through such a complicated repair. Just so many steps to do something like this with success. How in the world would you be able to shorten this video much more and still be able to show someone like me all the necessary steps? If a video can be shortened and still show all the necessary steps, then fine. Otherwise, both long and short videos I think are necessary. You’re just so good at what you do that I appreciate them all. Thank you Dony!!👍❤️
I like to see the whole process especially removing the seized pulley. The tips and tricks on what to look for and check is awesome. Hopefully mine goes the easy way but if it doesn’t I know what to do and look for. The length of the video does not bother me. I like the content more than how long the video is. Real world is never short, quick, and problem free. Thanks for taking the extra time to get all the camera shots- takes longer but very instructional.
Don, i prefer the longer videos. I like that you cover everything, because us do it your self guys can always count on running into something difficult. The 20 min job always turns into 3 hours with cursing and scrapped knuckles. Keep up the great work.
I love your detail and troubleshooting. It’s not always a straightforward job, there will be hiccups at times. That’s what I love about your channel, you clearly explain common problems and how you troubleshoot/fix them. Watching your videos has not only saved me money, it’s also allowed me to learn about small engine repair and how to keep my machines running well.
This is absolutely the best video I have found to replace belts on my Troy Bilt Bronco, and I’ve wasted time looking at many of them. I wish I’d found yours first! You have great camera angles and describe everything step by step. Perfect. My only tiny comment concerns the need to check each pulley is functioning as it should. I imagine some sort of quick spin, listening for bad ball bearings might be in order. Awesome video. Well done
At the 3:28 mark… you saved my day! Was getting ready to pull the engine to see if there was a leak from underneath, when I saw your video. Lo and behold, the oil drain plug was extremely loose! Thank you.
Thank you Don. Another great video. Some jobs will require a longer video to properly explain how it's done. You always explain things well with no fooling around. I'd rather watch a long video that shows everything including possible mistakes that can happen. Take care Don and thanks again. 👍
Love any video you do, I like most others love the long in depth teaching in your videos. Thank you very much for your videos, always look forward to seeing a new video, long or short. Big fan of your work.
I had an issue with the oil drain valve on my B&S Intek engine too. I replaced it with a hose drain system. We used to do that a lot on heavy equipment when the drain plug was in an awkward position. I personally prefer the longer videos because they're usually more in depth. Cheers from NB
DONY - excellent step by step instructional video on a difficult job. The length of the video doesn't matter. You tell us what you are doing & then show us how to do the work. You do that very well. Thanks.
Great video, thanks. Your were right on with the bottom drive belt being the hardest part of the job - 16:00 minute mark. I got it started, then took a thin piece of wood (a paint stir stick) then gently nudged it down with a small hammer as it was a witch turning the pulley by hand. The longer videos are fine, I appreciate the 'here's what may go wrong' parts too.
Great content Don! I like your longer videos on more complex repairs like this. I work on our GX255 and other small engine equipment in our home garage and these types of videos really help. Cheers!
Prefer the long video in detail than what you do. I myself have a old John Deere which I need to replace a drive belt after the season. You help me in one of your older video of blown head gasket and how to fix and retime the valves. Thank you.
I found it easier to loosen (Not remove) the double pulley bracket to get the belt around the lower pulley. a short 10mm 1/4" drive socket worked great! Good video!
You're a braver man than me! I just replaced the drive belt on my Troy Bilt and realized why, last time, a shop charged me $150. A few years ago I purchased a lawn tractor lift; it was well worth the $79; probably $150 now under " Crooked Joe". BTW, there are two screws holding the "double pulley" to the mower side. I had to loosen them in order to get the belt over that side of the pulley. The screws are easily accessible and are behind the left rear wheel/tire.
Great video! I did this to mine today! I found it easy to undo the two bolts holding the variable speed pulley and then put the belt on. Not hard to reinstall! My Troy Bilt is a 2009 and still going!
G'day, Don! I'm so glad to see you, do these type of videos! Enjoyed watching this Step by Step, Drive Belt Replacement on a Troy-Bilt, or Cub Cadet (MTD) 'Lawn Tractor!!' By the way, the answer to your question... Longer videos are always greatly appreciated! Thank you! Ride on! 😉 Cheers! 😊🛠🚜❤
Nice repair. Like the longer videos. I skip over the short one. Nice to see you using anti seize. On new equipment with crank pulleys, blade hubs etc. I remove them and apply anti seize. My 20 year old craftsman push mower blade hub slides right off when I remove the blade for shaping. Same goes for my 2005 craftsman lawn tractor crank pulley. Anti seize works great on the rear wheel hubs to drive axles. The wheels slide right off.
Hi, The video was just right and the first one I found about this style! My Lawhflite 705 Autodrive is in desperate eeed of the upper and lower belt change, so here goes! I'm in Scotland UK so the model may not ne recognised on your side of the pond but it is basically an MTD. Many thanks.
Your video was very helpful to change a automatic drive belt system. I had removed my drive belt on my hydrostatic drive system and couldn't get the pulley off on the engine side so I had to bend the tabs instead. This worked but wasn't the correct way. Thanks for the video.
Hi Don, great video! Length was perfect. I did this to my Troybilt a couple seasons ago using a video Taryl put out. In that video, he tipped the tractor over 45 degrees to the right and supported it on a stool or whatever, resting on the steering wheel. Sounds a little sketchy, but it was quite secure and no damage to the tractor. Just a thought if you don't have access to a lift like you have. Thanks again for your great videos!
With the torch, would be possible to heat up the three tabs next to the pulley and lay them over enough to slip the new belt on. Then leverage them back into place.....? Love your videos. In depth and informative. Thanks David.
Great video. I'm with the majority, depending on the difficulty of the task or multiple steps will determine the length of the video. Simply put, quick task-short video and complex task - longer video.✌️✌️✌️
I have the same lift but I mounted it to pneumatic 4' wide motorcycle lift that way I can work on equipment off the ground and lift the mower up at the same time to do deck work. Thanks for your videos!!
Another great video, Don ... longer is great when the job calls for it. And wow, that job looks like a pain even if you didn't have a booger'd pulley. Makes me appreciate my JD D130 with a single belt to drive the blades! :)
Hi Don, I definitely like your longer videos. You add some depth to your mechanics when your showing and teaching. Have you ever done a video on the steering mechanism like the one on that tractor. I have a Cub Cadet XT-1 that looks like the one that was on that tractor and it feels a little loose. If you could show lubrication to possibly repairing any problems with the shaft, bushings or gear, that would be great. Keep up the great work!! You do a great job!!
i just wonder how many pulleys would be easily removed if the factory put one dab of anti-seize on every pulley and/or the flywheel and/or the wheel axle spindles.....seems like I have spent half of my life removing frozen cotter pins ,frozen pulleys and locked up wheel assemblies ....i know it keeps guys in business but when I replace these parts, the anti-seize is the first thing I install...thanks Don
Yep I agree but it’s best and the Shit to pull apart a new mower and antiz the wheel axles and pulley on crank shaft. But that’s what I did several times in last 20 years
I take the plastic oil drain out and replace it with a pipe nipple that extends out past the frame with a 90 pointing down and a plug. It makes changing the oil so much easier. 👍
Great video. I like the detailed instructions especially on a difficult job like this. Should anti seize be applied to the new pulley hub that was seized prior to installation?
Excellent video, now i feel confident i can change the lower drive belt, my is cracked all over. Just out of curiosity, will changing the lower drive belt help me get my shift know get into gear. I have a hard time getting into gear but once it does it runs just fine.
Hi Don, I like Videos between 15 - 30 Mins typically. Unless more time is required to show the full process. After about 30 minutes, I tend to get bored with the content. A part 'two' usually takes care of that. Good job a always, keep up the awesome content.
I like the details. You were right to the point with no fluff, then length is good. I put a small block of wood in between the upper belt pulley and frame so I don't have to fuss with the spring. Is that drive belt supposed to be loose? My Bronco doesn't like to go forward, only reverse. Is the tranny bad?
Watch my 10 year old video of mower lift used in video here;
ua-cam.com/video/cptUaRhe29Q/v-deo.html
How do I find engine number on troy-bilt manufactured on 2017? 18.5 HP? Must find head gasket
Definitely longer, I really enjoy your content. Thanks for all your hard work to show us how to fix our equipment
Doesn't matter the length of video, it's the accuracy and in-depth knowledge and analysis that's important. Thanks and always try and have a great day.
Old gasoline is my favorite cleaning solution too. Longer videos are fine as today's subject required more time, no fluff, just good information.
Don, William Moore here. I have always been interested in small engine repair. Although until the last few years I was a full time career businessman. Finally retired!!! Dony, Your video saved me again today! Great info, Love your videos!
Shorter for simpler projects; longer for the more complex.I am in the process of changing the lower drive belt on my MTD. It's not the same mower as the one in the video, but still saw some things that I think will simplify my process. Thank you.
Longer videos for sure. It’s very helpful to show everybody the tricks of the trade. Great job. Thanks

Either way videos very clear and you explainations are very clear and precise. Great work
Detailed videos are more important than length. Great Work,
I like the longer ones, they are more in depth, and really help out!
Don, i prefer the longer videos. I like that you cover everything, because us do it your self guys can always count on running into something difficult. The 20 min job always turns into 3 hours with cursing and scrapped knuckles. Keep up the great work.
I like the longer more detailed videos that cover the whole job and what kind of things to look out for.
Longer!! I like seeing what you actually do!! Thanks!!
Longer we get more information that way really enjoy your videos
Long video if needed, like this one. The short ones are great too. Great job!
I like longer videos that get into some detail like this one does. Thank you Dony.
Longer is always better. Extra little tips are great also.
I PREFER Videos of the Length needed, LOL
Great Job as Always.Thank You.
At the 3:28 mark… you saved my day! Was getting ready to pull the engine to see if there was a leak from underneath, when I saw your video. Lo and behold, the oil drain plug was extremely loose! Thank you.

thanks for feedback!
Some reapairs are short, but others are more involved. You put out nice videos 🤙🤙
Love any video you do, I like most others love the long in depth teaching in your videos. Thank you very much for your videos, always look forward to seeing a new video, long or short. Big fan of your work.
Glad you like them!

Lucky for them they had you doing the work. Great job Donny! 👍👍
Friday mornings are always a treat, hot coffee and a new Donyboy73 video! 🎃
Outstanding video. And the amazing thing is you did most of the work one handed. Wow! Hats off to you ! 👍👍
yes it was more difficult lol!
DONY - excellent step by step instructional video on a difficult job. The length of the video doesn't matter. You tell us what you are doing & then show us how to do the work. You do that very well. Thanks.

Hi Don. I like both the long and short videos. Having a longer video this week was nice. Always great to see you at your craft. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks 👍
Lots of great tips and great camera work. I like seeing all the steps necessary to repair a problem. I watch everything you post. 👍
Awesome, thank you!
I definitely like the longer videos. You always have great content.
Kudos
Great content Don! I like your longer videos on more complex repairs like this. I work on our GX255 and other small engine equipment in our home garage and these types of videos really help. Cheers!
Great video DB73, God Bless.
Great video, I like your longer videos
This is a good length video, around 30 minutes is good unless it is something simple or major,
Thanks, Dave
Longer videos are great!
check out the one I put out yesterday! have a great weekend
Prefer the long video in detail than what you do. I myself have a old John Deere which I need to replace a drive belt after the season. You help me in one of your older video of blown head gasket and how to fix and retime the valves. Thank you.
Like a longer video for complicated fixes re. drive belts and like. We need the detailed explanations you do so well.
I found it easier to loosen (Not remove) the double pulley bracket to get the belt around the lower pulley. a short 10mm 1/4" drive socket worked great! Good video!
I put a little anti seize on the end of the crank shaft before I install the pulley so it comes off for the next guy a lot easier.
I think I saw the anti seize on the shaft, but he never mentioned it.
Don, i dont mind the longer videos when they are as indepth as this repair and the camera work was excellent as well! 👍
Great video, longer ones are appreciated. Thanks.
Good day Don. Yes long videos are alright if I have time to watch.
Yes good video. I have yard works from CTC, looks alot like the same. Thanks
Length was fine - thanks
i like the longer ones.
detailed videos are very helpful. Thank you for this last video!

Watching from UK 🇬🇧 like the longer videos as more detailed. Your contents is excellent. The best small engine repair channel on UA-cam.
Thank you very much!
Thank you! Ride on! 😉
Cheers! 😊🛠🚜❤
i don't worry about the length of the video as much as attention to detail. Good job and great video.
Thank you!😊
You’re #1 Longer in depth videos for sure. You always do a great job covering all aspects of the job
check out my new video this morning!
@@donyboy73 I already did. Love your channel Please don’t ever quit making videos
GREAT Video1!!! It gives exactly the information needed to replace the Belt.
Master class. Thank you.
Thank you, you saved me hours and skin with the video.
Nice repair. Like the longer videos. I skip over the short one. Nice to see you using anti seize. On new equipment with crank pulleys, blade hubs etc. I remove them and apply anti seize. Great to hear!
I like the long videos.
15 to 20 minutes is good, but keep the details. Kinda hard to do sometimes, but you do a great job. Thanks
Definitely longer please.

I like your short and long videos.
Don I have run across the top belt tensioner arm being frozen fron lack of lube and old grass debris
on that same model several times.
Prefer longer videos because they're more educational in their detail. Love to see entire jobs, start to finish.
That one was just right
liked the long video very informative
longer videos are fine......learning effect is better
With the torch, would be possible to heat up the three tabs next to the pulley and lay them over enough to slip the new belt on. Then leverage them back into place.....?
Love your videos. In depth and informative.
Thanks David.
Yep it’s best if you don’t have the tools need to remove pulley
Longer is fine especially with good content like this, problems that can occur!
Great video. I'm with the majority, depending on the difficulty of the task or multiple steps will determine the length of the video. Simply put, quick task-short video and complex task - longer video.✌️✌️✌️
Hola Senor Donyboy great video Sir like always 👍👍

Awesome that helped me im working on one now for a friend 😊
This was excellent! Thanks
4/26/24 Your videos are very informative & have helped me a lot.
79 yes old on NC
I like the longer videos.
Any length of your videos are AWESOME! I see you have a Donyboy Tshirt! I want one. Where can I get one?
i like the long videos as well
I’ve done the same by heating it up cherry and then dousing it with a garden hose to break that bond
Wow, heaps of work, I think I’ll stick with a push mower.
Great about the oil valve.
Great instructions on this an all other videos
Hi Don, I definitely like your longer videos. You add some depth to your mechanics when your showing and teaching.

Yep I agree but it’s best and the Shit to pull apart a new mower and antiz the wheel axles and pulley on crank shaft. But that’s what I did several times in last 20 years
How much extra work to replace that bottom crank seal?
perfect length video

Great video. I like the detailed instructions especially on a difficult job like this. Should anti seize be applied to the new pulley hub that was seized prior to installation?
if you watch entire video you will see that I added anti-seize to clutch and pulley
extreme torque says torque on pto clutch is critical for bearings. normally around 55 ft lbs
Yep best to torque them
Any thing to save 200.00 bucks
I prefer longer videos. Thanks
Excellent video, now i feel confident i can change the lower drive belt, my is cracked all over. Just out of curiosity, will changing the lower drive belt help me get my shift know get into gear. I have a hard time getting into gear but once it does it runs just fine.

Drive belt tightens when pressing down the pedal.
Thank you
