i has question : what should i get if i cant afford specialised motorcycle boots?
the difference between "boots" and "motorcycle boots" is the same as the difference between "flowers" and "wedding flowers" = absolutely ridiculous ..
$200 for a pair of shoes? how about $50?

Just wanted to say I've literally watched every one of your reviews. I'm
deployed right now, but when I get back to the states, I'm getting a
bike and going to get started riding. At the moment, I can't stock up on
gear with the gear you review specifically (going to try to slowly buy
all my gear so I don't break the bank too hard) but I've made sure to
take notes on all the relevant videos so I at least know what I'm
looking for so when I buy a cheaper alternative while save up.
    So thanks, man!

Thanks for the great info. I would like to see one thing more though on your multiple product reviews and that is: the name of the product you are featuring at the time. Often you only mention the product name at its introduction, then mention how this compares to another model or product, mentioning this more often than the one being featured. It just makes it hard to remember which is what. I like your presentation so don't change anything there. A simple whiteboard with the product being reviewed at the time clearly visible would be a great thing to see. I like what you did with this review highlighting the features on the whiteboard but adding the name of the item somewhere would have been nicer. Thanks again.

I live in a pretty hot part of the country, and we get very little rain. I bought the Alpinestars Roam 2 Air boots, and they are phenomenal. This is one of the very few boots I've ridden in that actually flows a noticeable amount of air. I can actually feel the breeze passing over my feet while I ride, and it makes a world of difference when you show up to work and don't have sweaty, stinking feet trapped inside stuffy boots. They also look nicer than the average riding boot. I wore them under slacks at the office, and most people didn't notice right away that they were anything other than black leather dress boots upon a casual glance.

Anything that isn't really a boot, should not be considered as a motorcycle-boot. In other words, any boot which isn't high enough to give protection up to the level when it covers your shins, could just be functional as any boot. But you might only take that seriously once your shinbones has reached for air through your pants.

I've had the Icon Super Duty 4.0 boots for 3+ years now. Hardly shows any wear except on the rubber toe dots and any spots where I've scraped it on something. Still comfy, still work great. No fraying on shoes or laces. Buckle still works pretty good but doesn't seem to hold the tension as well as when new.

I come from a country where riding gears on a sub $5k bike is unheard of. needless to say, I don't really have a lot of friends to seek solid riding gear advices. I bought a pair of Forma Mirage Drytex (I paid extra for the waterproof version because it rains a lot here) because you know, I like me and stuff.. I have never watched a video that reviews the forma. Forma Mirage boots are sold as weekend fun ride shoes that isn't all that uncomfortable to walk in. So, what are your opinions on the Forma Mirage Drytex.

What if you buy construction boots, they are cheaper ,I think under $200 for sure, some $80. Think what does construction boots do, heavy duty impact protection, super thick leather, tough rubber construction materials. The only thing I wish is almost all of them are not tall ,like racing boots, but they have medium version cover your angles

I don't know what you do at the office all day, but I wouldn't for a second 'choose' to wear even light boots all day, let alone armored ones. I've had too for some jobs, had to wear Metatarsals for one, but what a great day when they came out with composite toe and shank. There is no need to have metal ANYTHING in a motorcycle boot now, EVER. Who want's their boots to survive them anyway?
I just got a new pair of over the ankle, lace up, side zipper, light brown suede leather boot. They look like desert combat boots but 3/4 height and light as an athletic shoe. $60 AND NOT BLACK for God's sake. I can buy a new pair ever year if I need to.
No Herman Munster boots needed for "street riding". Black is the absolute WORST color for any clothing or gear on a motorcycle. (hint: It's the least visible and also too dang hot.) Don't tell me Canada's always cold, I know they have mosquito and tick season. Seriously, no black gear on bikes for those who care at all about safety or comfort...buy an IR thermometer and prove me wrong.

Question for you....Years ago there was a company called "Wicked"..they made a series of riding boots that were the best I have ever seen for multiple reasons...The boot was super comfortable, you could stand on concrete all day long and never have any knee, leg or ankle pain. Secondly was the height of the sole. It gave me the 1" lift I need to get flat footed on the ground with my Road King. Third and one of the most important reasons was the weight. Both of those boots weighted less on a scale than one of my old boots. For younger people it may not be an issue but for us older guys the weight of the shoe means everything.....Is there anything out there like this boot....I believe Wicked went out of business...

I had a hell of time finding suitable moto footwear. I wear a 13 4E shoe and finally ended up getting a pair of Tourmaster boots. It’s both long and wide enough but has too much space over my foot, so I had to put lifts under the heal of the insole to get the fit just right. If I could I would have gone for something much more casual looking, and if it hadn’t fit I would have had to go for custom boots.

Everything else I tried was either terrible to even stand up in, let lone walk in, or terrible to get or off. I found a boot that was good...but a bit tight...so I tried moving up a size...only to be unable to get them on at all! These were $200-$300 boots! The Sedicis won't last as long as better boots, but at $100 I'm not bothered. They probably don't offer the best protection, but it's a lot better than most bike rider's footwear choices, such a trainers.

The TCX are the best looking boots in this review. The Icon, the ugliest.

Hi I am trying to decide between a Shoei Neotec 2 , shoei Hornet adventure or the Scorpion AT 950. I have always used Shoei since 1974 but the Scorpion is modular with visor. I ride a Honda CB 500 X on country roads to take photos. I like comfortable quiet helmets, what do you think.

What did you decide on? I'm in the same boat now, looking for the best modular...

i saw the style of the second pair, and immediately thought of my old shop boots from a few years ago. in fact, im likely to snag a pair and swap the laces (much longer, but i can use the "quick tie" method, and tuck the laces so they dont catch.)

+FortNine Great information as always. Question, any recommendations for a wide riding boot, like 4E wide? Thanks

Daytona Road Star hands down best boot ever. Had mine 13 years and re-soled 3 times. Well worth the $400.

I just bought a set of these, maybe 300 miles on them and love them. Super comfortable and stay warm in low 40s high 30s F temps. Not sure if they are gonna be to warm in summer though.
