Wow!! Thank you as always for sharing your knowledge. I was not aware of John Hardy but will definitely be on the look out. You always find amazing pieces. The wedding 830 brooch is a great find. I love the cute little kitty brooch!!
Nice job on this group as well. I would say to make sure to test that first Victorian brooch, those pieces can be some of the most difficult items to test. They can be heavy gold filled or solid gold in weird karats like 9K, 12K, 15K, 19K. It looks like the first one has a gold colored pin stem. Some pieces can be hard to test because it would damage the item to check it deep enough but you may be able to test the stem. You can see how the other one has a silver color pin stem and the first has soldered catch and pendant loop which is more difficult to do on GF. The second one I think is probably worth a tad more than 30 to me. I like the Solje brooches, looks like the large one has a marker's mark. I know the right maker on those can make the value go up a lot. Thanks
Unfortunately I can see the brass under the gold on a few spots on both of the brooches so I can tell they're just gold filled. Hopefully I get a gold one soon thought. And the Solje brooch looks like it has a crown makers mark on it, I still need to find out who it is. I haven't had one this big before so hopefully it brings some good money. Thanks for watching
The Norwegian silver pieces are called sølje, they`re made specifically for our national costumes, the sami people also use them for that purpose. Both men and women wear them, but these are for women.
Hello. Thanks for the information about John Hardy. I will keep my eyes open! Re Sunrise Sterling mark, I did see a Carol Felley that used a Sunrise mark on her sterling pieces along with a pictograph. I don't know if it is related to your pendant. I'm thinking that you already know this information but... if a cross has Jesus on it, it is a Catholic piece; if it is a plain cross, it is a Protestant piece.
Cool finds again! Thanks for the info on John hardy. As a coin collector I appreciate toned silver. so the danecraft piece would have to be my favorite.
My favorite was the unique looking gold, and silver pendant. Thanks for sharing. ♡
