A psychology reminder relating to your anxiety - people underestimate the emotional impact of events and the 5 most stressful are; death of a loved one - divorce - moving - illness/injury - job loss. So, you've not only moved, you've completed altered the direction of your life and my guess is that will have a huge emotional impact that you naturally assume is "not a big deal" when in reality it is huge - you need to give yourself time and the emotional space to adapt.

🎄 🥳 🎉 Oh my goodness, as I watched Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV here in Montreal , it occurred to me that Dari and the other International students might be there in the crowd to experience it! Pleased to see you were actually there in the crowd! Such an impressive parade! Loved it and the singers and marching bands, and dancers too. 🎅🏻🌲⛄️

For what you got at the bagel shop, it was not overpriced. You would pay the same or more here in Houston. Your biggest expense was probably the salmon.

How one reacts to noises may indeed be associated with one's upbringing. My Mom said that I was an easy baby to take care of because after taking a bath and tucked in, I would sleep for three hours uninterruptedly despite loud noises (Hong Kong was the noisiest city in the world due to all of the construction activities: driving piles, air drills digging up sidewalk/pavement to bury electrical cables, etc.)
Sleep-study doctor questioned me about whether I had narcolepsy because I dropped like a rock into deep sleep and spent such an exceptional fraction of my sleeping time in deep sleep. No, I didn't have narcolepsy ! 😂

My Grandpa might have inherited (through marriage perhaps) shares in the Jardine-Matheson Group which was probably involved in the opium trade. The infamy of the opium trade might have contributed to the splitting up of my paternal-side clan into two due to the very arrogant actions of the founder of our [new] clan. The elders of the old clan refused to allow him to put a memorial plaque commemorating his deceased father in the clan's ancestral hall. (Another possibility is that his Dad didn't assume family responsibility to provide for his Mom and kid(s)) He started his own clan and built his own taller ancestral hall dwarfing the old ancestral hall. The elders and fengshui master begged him not to do that because of the curse upon all of his descendants. He did it anyway so the consequences did follow. 😰

Your videos are always so cheerful they're a treat to watch. The shots of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from within the crowd were so much more personal than the ones they televise. You can definitely appreciate the size and scope of the balloons and parade. Dari, I am so glad to hear that you are taking breaks from social media to clear your head and spend more time with your studies. As you mentioned here that is the most important thing right now. Maybe when you have a winter break between semesters you can explore more of your surroundings with greater detail. Even though I would love to see more videos from you, I also understand that you need to have time to live your life, be with friends, and plan and make your goals come true... not just hunkered down in front of a laptop editing.
Take care of yourself first and foremost and then everything else will come in due time. I am grateful that some of your dreams are becoming a reality. That is enough for me as a follower of your video adventures.

Products should be as relevant as possible to the *reason* that people watch your channel. In this case, they watch it because they enjoy learning about your perspective as a Russian who travels and, especially now, your experiences as a Russian immigrant in America. Try designing stuff that's funny/cute with a Russian-American theme, e.g. "I came all the way from Russia to New York City and all I got was X" where X is something unpleasant but funny that you experienced and have mentioned on your channel, like the noisy heater in your apartment or maybe you found a dead rat or whatever (it's NYC, if you haven't had some sort of incident involving a rat, you will). Also, Americans *love* hearing about immigrants who came here and love America, so anything that essentially says "I'm an immigrant and I love America" is going to do well.

Love your NY Videos as well as all your videos. I also love parades. I like to watch the Rose Parade (on TV) every year because almost all the floats are made of flowers. It's in California on New Year's Day. Those bagels looked awesome. Poppy seed with nothing on them are my fave. I missed watching the Macy's parade this year. I completely forgot. It looks so cold there, and I do not like to be cold. My husband is from Alaska and he can't stand the cold either LOL. Good luck with figuring out a new project and new ideas. It can be so hard to be creative when you have a lot going on such as work and school.

The old waterfront warehouse(s) in DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge Underpass) are gone after the redevelopment of the waterfront. It's quite a tony neighborhood near there now.
Well-heeled people just love to have the main treated sewerage drainage of the City of New York (New York City to N.Y. old-timers is just the previously Dutch a.k.a. Knickerbocker and later taken-by-the-English settlement in lower Manhattan, around zipcode 10002 -- 10001 being used by the mail service headquarters in midtown; my initial zipcode in America was 10027) occupy their front view. 😂 😊

@@solconcordia4315 Too bad they're gone. I used to know a couple, one of the original gentrifiers of that neighborhood. Two artists with a kid. Huge warehouse loft that they fixed up. It's funny when I see people comment on the TV show Friends, and say no one would have an apartment that big in NY, well they don't know what went on in the old days. A lot of my friends had pretty huge apartments in the New York City area. Even in the Village. They were dumps that you had to fix up yourself. I guess the movie Ghost kind of shows that, in Soho.

I hope your stress does not get you down too much. For a small venture maybe you could design something specific to you and your travels for us to buy. They really open my eyes to the "real New York. I just wish they were a little bit longer. the parade was great, something I've watched for Years only on TV. glad you enjoyed it as well. I just wish you could have sat down to a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner. Put it on your bucket list --- do it next time for sure. I don't think you would have lasted too long after without having to take your nap to recover. Your videos are wonderful keep them coming, and do it often! Interesting ,very interesting, Dasha. By the way, this leather jacket gives you quite an interesting look. A combination of a bit of punk and a bit of Eastern European gangster from the 1990s.😁 But in a sense that makes you smile, especially when combined with your beauty and behavior. By the way, I think from a few of your vlogs since you came to the US, it's clear that your eyes sparkle at times. In the last year I saw your vlogs, I didn't see it in your eyes. Perhaps in some sense the USA or perhaps New York and the university serve you. As for what you want to create on your channel. I think you should suggest some ideas that come to your mind and see what the response will be. The most important thing is that you do what will make you happy and will not harm your studies. Good luck. Greetings

I really enjoyed this video. What I find intriguing is you show us many parts of New York City that we don't normally see on TV and in movies. (This is true of many of your travel videos, which is why they are so enjoyable.) As for future projects, I must say that when it comes to clothes, I really like your style! It seems to me that you could earn money in modeling. IF YOU REALLY WANT TO DO SOMETHING INTERESTING, have breakfast at Tiffany's some morning at 727 5th Ave. Stand in front of the window like Audrey Hepburn did holding a bagel and hot drink (in the 1961 movie Breakfast at Tiffany's--a classic!). And to even make it more interesting, try to dress like her character, Holly Golightly. Talk about style! Holly even goes inside and asks if there is anything for sale under $10, and she gets a funny look. In your case, make it $20, and you'll get a funny look too. Believe me, your viewers will get a big kick out of this. (You can actually rent Holly's outfit.) However, do your schoolwork first!

For your entrepreneurial project I believe your brand needs a great Dari Step logo. So, produce up to 3 logo candidates and present them for comments. But also ask your professor about trademark laws. Good luck!😅 You are in America, so you have to think like a true capitalist now! 😮
American English / word usage note:
About the Macy's parade: You referred to the musicians in the parade as an "orchestra". I liked that word! However, we normally call the musicians walking along in a parade a "marching band". An orchestra would normally be in a theater-like setting and include string instruments like a violin or cello.
The marching bands in the Macy's parade are usually selected from high schools or colleges. It is an honor for a band to be selected to be in the Macy's parade.
My purpose is to be helpful to you because you are also a student of life and have a positive spirit and we all need more of that!

I'm not sure what you mean by projects, guess Dari gear! Of course, maybe you should go into fashion as you seem to always wear some stylish clothes! Once again, good luck on your exams. Do well because hard work pays off! Look forward to your next adventure! Say warm, be happy and have fun! ENJOY!

Good luck on exams. I missed Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade on TV this year, so I enjoyed seeing a brief recap on your video. As for a long-term project, It has to be aligned with your passion-travel, food, and adventure-and your easy likability. I’d suggest segments on general travel tips for travelers with your actual experiences traveling to highlight the tips in an illustrative and funny manner. You could follow it up by publishing a book on there tips and adventures. Hope this either helps or gets your creative juices flowing for better ideas.

On January 1st the day after new years is a special time in Manhattan. The streets will be completely empty in the morning. Great time to ride around in a car and take videos. It will be like a scene out of movie the city with no people on the streets. This was the only time that house of Morgan’s women were allowed in Manhattan. The city parties so hard on new years the next morning is great for moving around in a car very fast.

I thought the balloons flew higher in the parade? It was always a huge tradition to watch it on TV , most of the talent performed in front of the Macy's building . What was the biggest shock about America. You do seem to find some very nice places to sit and relax . I am happy you have found some good in the country . So nice to hear from you . I think of you every time NYC makes the news. Which is often . Think I will buy you a coffee !

Hi Dari, love you vlog as always. Perhaps you want to consider including the links to the merchants you particularly enjoy or recommend, whether it is restaurants, cafes, or boutiques. Hopefully, this will generate some goodwill, and maybe some advertising revenue or even partnership down the road. As for developing your own merchandise, the upfront cost could be quite prohibitive and you don’t want to be stuck with the inventory not selling. However, if you do have some really great business ideas, crowd funding may be an option. Best of luck and the sky is the limit!
