Patton talks like he has done wonders during his stint as governor of hong kong. Most of the real estate problem in hong kong were rooted on his governance where he connived with tycoons to corner the real estate market and did not even bother to develop and plan for the lower middle class and below. Hence there was massive shortage of housing in HK when he left hong kong which is still being felt today.

After 14 years in opposition Labour took power and adopted the same failed policy as their predecessors, making Brexit work. Most of the countries in Europe are working their way out of the problems caused by the Ukraine conflict and the Covid global pandemic but the UK decided to add an even bigger problem by exiting the EU and the result is that Brexit is now doing more harm to our economy that a global pandemic did.

It's just COVID, Energy Crisis (You mean Russia's War in Ukraine) also doesn't want to say, Financial crisis? oh you mean because oh the prior impacts Brexit, COV, War = financial crisis, we'll yeh but itself wasn't the cause it was everything prior added up. Maybe instead of selling opium, sell British products (which could restart manufacturing in UK) that Chinese actually like. Use tariffs to adjust any deficiencies. France exports wine. Maybe UK can export British meat (due to our higher quality), fashion(Burberry), food/beverages, Skincare etc....

@@allykhan8594 The govt can't print money. It has to borrow. Nobody wants to lend to the government because they think that inflation is going to be far more severe than expected and investors are beginning to doubt the future solvency of the british government which is predicated on future growth that thanks to this Labour govt may never be realised.
Specifically, govt borrows with fixed coupon repayments, investors buy these at a discount and the difference between the price they bought at and what the govt pays them is the yield. When investors are particularly hesitant to buy gilts, the yields will increase as sellers push the price down to try and find a buyer.
Most alarmingly is that it's very clear that international investors don't want anything to do with our sovereign debt, otherwise the pound would begin to rally as they converted foreign currencies into sterling to buy the bonds.

Remember, the only reason we're in this mess is record and skyrocketing inequality of wealth. Its not about me and the people making a million quid. Its about how the top 5% are constantly extracting value from assets that should be Great Britain's to extract. Foreign investors own our properties, out businesses and our stocks, and they do AS MUCH as possible to not pay the taxes on that.
If British people owned British assets, rented/ traded them to British people and we all payed what was right and due, half of our problems go away. But we're prostrated ourselves to investment capitalism to dodgy companies and countries. And we get record poor value. So we raid the pockets of tax payers to make up for it. So our money goes to the dodgy overseas landlords AND then it goes to the government as well.
It's not a Labour and Conservative or Reform problem. It's deeper. The mega rich have been getting richer, and its at the expense of 60 million Brits losing out. WHY DO WE ACCEPT THIS?

Courting China at a time when the Chinese economy is in an extremely volatile predicament is very much playing with fire. Then there is the political and geopolitical ramifications of dealing with a country such as the People's Republic of China. The truth of the matter is that the UK has been in economic decline for decades and whilst lunatics like Truss completely and massively amplified the situation with her ludicrous budget and then Reeves with her measures, in reality, neither are really to blame for the underlying issue. The UK really needs to get a grip on itself and it will take a very talented cabinet introducing revolutionary changes to make that happen. I cannot see anyone on the current political landscape of any party that meets those criteria.

Blame Labour for higher borrowing costs despite their hard Brexit they forced upon the economy, Liz Truss's mini budget, their austerity measures, giving tax payers money to their mates all being major factors causing this.
