**PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT** I completely forgot to put the annotion over the LCD in 0% brightness. What appears as black was in fact grey to the naked eye, I did not want to alter the footage to represent what I saw but this images do not represent a real life experience, for the LCD that is. **END OF ANNOUNCEMENT**
Been following Takis progress on these OLED screen uogrades for a while, its super exiciting to see the switch modding scene evolve so much! I'm really looking forward to see the OLED upgrades for the og v1 or v2 switches aswell!
Ordered one without the touchscreen. Gonna install it in my turquoise animal crossing switch lite. Was willing to do that one over my Zelda or Pokemon switch lite just incase I make a mistake and mess something up. Should actually be here tomorrow and I’m super excited!! Thanks for your feedback on this product! It gives me more confidence moving forward
Never separate the digitizer from the LCD if dust is going to bother you haha. Separating the digitizer from the LCD is actually not that hard just apply some heat and use the guitar pick tool to gently work your way around. When I do switch repairs now I only replace the whole touchscreen/digitizer because of dust. My goodness, I did it one time and no matter how many times I tried I just couldn't get the dust out for that reason alone it can never be worth it to just replace the digitizer. Nice install man.
I was super early, I refreshed for literally an hour and got my order in within seconds of the website finally working to place an order. There is a chance that I got it early because of that, if they fulfill orders as a "first come, first serve".
@@juansalgado6212 when taki’s video came out the way time was November, this is why I didn’t pre order… now they are all sold out? Also standard oled vs touch? Shouldn’t that be standard as well?
I guess I should finally let the "I created the Retroid Pocket 3" joke die. Taki is certainly creating stuff now, for real. Between his screen replacement company, the Mister, and probably a dozen other things I don't even know about; I've got to give him his props. He's certainly driven.
😂 He can be critical but at least he's got the balls to expect the same, if not more of his own ventures. I can certainly respect that of him, and as the saying goes: "Pressure makes diamonds" and that screen is definitely one. I wish I could give it justice
Does the 1st batch non-touch shipment include the spare joysticks? I’ve been seeing it included in some older unboxing videos, but none in the recent ones
Truely amazing. I bought the HDMI Kit one and I am waiting for my product but seeing this now I am wondering if I should have bought both and get a second used Lite as a spare. Ofcourse no video will do justice to the screen unless we see with our own eyes. Congrats. Enjoy gaming.
Thanks, happy gaming to you too! I hesitated with touchscreen and HDMI but because I wanted the grey bezel to keep the look of my SE, I figured meh. Let's just go for what is already there.
@ i agree. I initially ordered touch + oled but I played Nintendo Sports at friends place next day and it was so good on TV so I upgraded to HDMI as I don't want bigger Switch.
Any issues with yours? see you have some sort of banding with yours if you look at the keyboard at 3:56 for instance? Mine has weird issues with sRGB mode turning pink after reboot and drains the battery because the screen doesent turn off in sleep mode which is easy to spot in a completely dark room.
That banding, which is most likely tied to the panel's refresh rate is not (or at least should not be) visible to the naked eye. To me, those bands can only be observed under a camera. It also sleeps fine, I haven't noticed more battery loss (when sleeping) since installing the OLED panel. That said, I did see on discord some users having various issues, I wouldn't know if it a small portion or common at this point but seems like I'm amongst the ones who have no issues. Sorry to hear this does not seem to be your experience.
My standard upgrade kit arrived yesterday and I installed it but the screen is stuck on very low brightness and won't adjust. Tried installing it in two different Switch Lites and same result. 😕
I wonder if one of your ribbon cables might have a defect? It kind of sounds like the panel is not getting enough power, nor is it being addressable. Hopefully they can tell you what's wrong and get that fixed for you because it's a looker when it works as intended!
Yeah, it was a launch title of the Switch designed to showcase peak graphical output. It's called FastRMX and it's quite a fun racing game, if reasonably short.
This is awesome! I love how you keep showing ways to enhance Nintendo products. I've watched many of your videos about gamepads, and I have a question: Is it possible to use the gyro from the BIGBIG WON Blitz2 in the game you showcased, «Fast RMX»? Also, can it be used in other FPS games on the Nintendo Switch for aiming, specifically those that don't natively support gyro aiming? Here is list of gyro natively support by NS listed on the Reddit page «List of Nintendo Switch Games with Gyro Aiming». Thanks!
Sure you absolutely can. What I do is on the PC (or mobile) BIGBIG WON app, I go to my Switch mode, put gyro on open/close and map it to a button. Whenever I push that button it activates gyro and controls left or right stick, based off of what I want. It works really great too!
I wholeheartedly disagree. You don’t buy a product with a box for the tools, it’s usually a small cheap plastic bag. A pelican box for the “pièce de résistance” it’s usually a block a foam with the product nudge in it. A freaking pill box to put your screws in?!? Come on, it may appear as trivial to you but I literally open stuff for a living and open just as much if not more when the cameras aren’t rolling, no way this is the usual experience. I’m not saying it’s the only great one but to think this is the regular, I sense bad faith.
@GameTechTalk i believe on Nintendo side of things, picture quality is not the first priority, the focus on the gameplay experience being portable and so on , and a projector do fit 100% into that, because i should be able to carry everything with me in a trip and still watch everything as big or more than the tv you have.
Or crazy... 😅 I enjoy making content and sharing with people so, yeah, I stay active but I think I'm getting close to needing maybe a week off or something
Replacing the screen is really a smooth process, just a bit of patience and Taki to guide you along the way and truthfully, anyone can pull it off. I powered it first thing when I woke up... it really is a gorgeous screen.

Yesterday I installed the OLED screen with Hall effect analog sticks and a case swap. Looks fantastic with the gold bezels!
I saw Jade's video from Taki's Discord, it is glorious indeed with the Zelda Gold Switch Lite, enjoy friend!

everything is sold out, anyone knows when it will be available?

Im already hoping he's gonna make on for the switch 2 😅
Have u try the docked mode version yet?
No, I didn't buy that kit and they haven't started shipping yet.
Its not a full docked mode. The switch lite will not change to docked mode, it just outputs video via HDMI
Damn, next batch when? Looks like Taki sold all SUPER5 to youtubers
No clue, I would suggest joining his Discord to find out

I have a switch lite ,If there is a mod that makes he screen bigger that would make more sense to me.
A "projector mod" to a Switch Lite, cast your image onto the ceiling. Wouldn't that be cool?!? (I literally just had that pop in my brain)
