Maria Steinhauer ever since they’ve got their nose pierced, they notice they accidentally hit themselves in the nose often !!! when u hit ur nose after it’s pierced it can hurt !
Well it's true lmaoo. I'm 20, but still live with my mom and she HATES facial piercings, no matter how old I am, she doesn't want me to get it done. Well, I went ahead to a piercing studio and got my septum done with a clear piercing and I have it flipped up while it's healing
I just want to say for those who find this video and have not gotten their piercings yet. 1.) You should always receive a full explanation before and after getting your piercing. 2.) The shop should be clean and customer service should be attentive and follow procedures. 3.) I would recommend flipping the piercing upward to heal for the first 3 weeks of having it. 4.) whomever does your piercings should NOT use a gun. All piercing equipment should be opened while you are there and NOT PREUSED OR ALREADY OPENED. And they should sterilized. whomever does your piercing should give good attention to where his marks are placed and should change gloves when appropriate. 5.) IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE, UNSATISFIED, OR UNSURE WITH THE SHOP YOU'VE CHOSEN, DO NOT GET YOUR PIERCING THERE. This shit ain't no game y'all lol I got mine done yesterday. great man, good piercing, and great environment. I will be going back to get the jewelry changed once I'm healed and so excited! but I'm no expert so make sure to look up information on it!
Yes! People keep going to the cheap places and I’m like fuck that. I have my usual though pretty expensive piercer I go too and I’m so glad I found them. She is very experienced and helpful. Before her none of my piercings healed well and I took most out. I have the best jewellery and placement now which makes a huge difference to healing.
Exactly this!!! I went to a bad piercing shop when I got my first (conch) he bend the ring when it was already in my ear and bend it back while still in my ear. Hurt like hell. And didnt tell me till i got problems with my piercing and went back. I just went there cus my sister had gone there a few years before to get a helix. Worst decision. Had problems with it for 2 years (partially also my fault for not caring well but it also didnt have a good start) and finally decided to take it out and let it full heal a couple days ago. Already looks a lot better than it has in months
My piercer gave me great advice after my piercing then I came to UA-cam just to get some extra info… this is the first thing that came up and what do you know, that’s my piercer!! He did an amazing job with not just my piercing but this video too!!
what i learned: - DON’T touch it and if you must, make sure your hands are super clean. - salt-water soak at least once a day. use non-iodine salt and distilled water to do this. put four teaspoons of salt into a gallon of the water and this will be the solution you’ll use. pour a small amount into a cup and microwave it for a few seconds until it’s lukewarm. put your nose into and soak for about 7-15 minutes. pat it off or rinse it. - no other products should touch your piercing besides either saltwater or a cleaning solution!
ik im late but what should i do about the jewellery being not sideways like how the jewellery slides to one side every now and then, should i just leave it till it heals or should i adjust it when it moves abit?
i respect this guy so much oml he said "from the parents" man knows what's up 😂😂😂 he just wants people that are gonna pierce themselves to be safe lol thanks dude
I'm only going to take your advice. You make the most sense and you seem to know what you're talking about more than any other videos I've watched. Thanks, man.

I recently purchased another ring for my nose and the same thing happened, I couldn’t bare the pain and irritation… Nobody told me there was a process. So thank you for this informative video. Now I know what to do.
The salt water cleanse feels so good... I had a huge bag on NeilMed saline packets for nasal rinsed and my piercer said that was perfect. My septum piercing feels so much better after I soak it.
It seems like everyone says different things. My piercer said to avoid all saline water and salt soaks. Only water and anti bacterial soap 1 time a day at the end of my shower. It’s what I’ve used with my other piercings and I’ve had no problems. No crusties and minimal soreness. He said piercings that use saline/salt soaks/tree oil take much longer to heal. Yes its normal if it hurts its pierced in the wrong spot its suppose to go in the "sweet spot" like yours and if it hurts really bad afterwards its something wrong they should check for infection. Yours is normal and healthy.
i just got mine done today and the piercer told me to put antibacterial soap on it and it hurt so bad i cried. i never cry, my pain tolerance is higher than a kite. i’m SO glad i found this video. 🙏
I cried yesterday too after spraying saline solution I got from the Pharmacy on it😭 I use that same solution for my belly button piercing and it works just fine, but with the septum😭😭My nose kept dripping and my head ached😭💔

My piercer gave me a product called "Pressions" with an "X" behind it and it's "Dermatologist Tested". It's a spray for your piercing, supposed to use it 2 times a day and after meals.
Gotta admit, my jewelry moved around like crazy. About every 2 hours or so I had to straighten it (the horseshoe would rotate completely). Even now, 2 months later, it still does it. It doesn't bother me but it was occasionally painful when I tried to straighten it and it had crusties on it that I wasn't aware of. I'm about to change it for the first time tomorrow. I got my septum pierced 2 days ago and my piercer told me to keep it up and to only flip it down whenever I'm cleaning it (she recommended 2-3 times/day) my nose is kinda swollen and she told me to use 70% alcohol - antiseptic alcohol - to clean it (i don't know if you've heard it before but it's meant to be used in hospitals to sterilize things and bruises) so should I really flip it down when cleaning it? cause throughout the day i noticed that there are crusts and a bit of blood that's already dried out ps: sorry about any spelling and/or grammar mistakes, English isn't my first language 😊
i got my septum pierced 8/14, and the place is really well known for being the best piercing place in my area. the guy told me that i didnt need to do anything other than get rid of any gunk on it. i asked about salt water soaks, and he told me that the salt would just dry out my mucus membranes and not to use it. but everywhere ive read on the internet says to do them. i havent had any problems other than soreness, though i have been cleaning it with water. any advice about soaking vs not soaking?
That’s all I did! I’m perfectly fine! Just my normal face cleanser and water! Never hurt, never got infected! Actually it was the easiest piercing I’ve had and I have a lot!
@@kandi0225871 would it be fine to just do as he suggests with the non iodized sea salt and distillied water? Could I just use a spray bottle with the non iodized sea salt and distilled water in it?
Literally got my septum pierced but the piercer had the wrong needle and messed up. He tried three times to put the jewelry in but it didn’t finally he got a bigger needle and it finally went in. I was bleeding and it was kinda traumatic. A bit painful because of how many times he put the needle in. Nonetheless it’s in and it’s okay other than putting it in:’)
I've been planning to get my septum pierced for a few years now (about 3~ish years) and I'm a bit worried if my body rejects the piercing/if it gets infected since my mother had a similar piercing and it resulted in becoming infected (she got the piercing done again a year later and it got re-infected). Edit: Haha yeah I got it done and its perfect!!!
Man, I'm so happy I decided to look up proper aftercare, my piercer told me to use dial antibacterial soap and zero-alcohol listerine and I knew that didn't seem right.
I was given a saline solution and betadine solution to clean it with Q-Tips twice a day. Does that work out as well, or would you definitely recommend to hang the piercing into warm saline solution for 10 minutes once or twice a day?
I’ve had my septum pierced for like 3-4 days now and my piercer told me to use neosporin and saline solution, I’ve also had a strong itching sensation for the past two nights but it only comes in at night and doesnt last all night. Any suggestions or corrections for this?

@@saawanirangare5261 i sure as fuck did!
so thankful for you
I just got mine done around 8:30 today and my piercer told me to use bactine and thats the best thing that works for me so far, its really soothing and its only 5 dollars at walmart, he said that you should only use bactine for the septum not any other piercing, but hope this helps :)
Raven Thooo how do you wash your face or sleep?
Raven Thooo ei
I got my septum pierced 2 days ago and my piercer told me to keep it up and to only flip it down whenever I'm cleaning it (she recommended 2-3 times/day) my nose is kinda swollen and she told me to use 70% alcohol - antiseptic alcohol - to clean it (i don't know if you've heard it before but it's meant to be used in hospitals to sterilize things and bruises) so should I really flip it down when cleaning it? cause throughout the day i noticed that there are crusts and a bit of blood that's already dried out
ps: sorry about any spelling and/or grammar mistakes, English isn't my first language 😊
So informative thank you , I knew I was missing sometimes in the routine lol
Thank you very much.
i got my septum pierced 8/14, and the place is really well known for being the best piercing place in my area. the guy told me that i didnt need to do anything other than get rid of any gunk on it. i asked about salt water soaks, and he told me that the salt would just dry out my mucus membranes and not to use it. but everywhere ive read on the internet says to do them. i havent had any problems other than soreness, though i have been cleaning it with water. any advice about soaking vs not soaking?
You can straighten a septum piercing by doing the “duck” face, that way you don’t have to touch it.
omg i thought i was the only one doing it
lmao that's what I'm doing
Going to you to get mine done soon!
Just got mine today, thanks a lot
I got mine yesterday and the piercer said that I don't need to clean it at all. I didn't believe her 😂
Cleodie Anezka Schneider thank god you didn't 😂😂
My piercer and friend that went with me both said to just use water.
Could I just use a spray bottle with the non iodized sea salt and distilled water in it?
same! she said like once a day.. i was like noooo
Thank you so much
You’re awesome , thanks
I've been planning to get my septum pierced for a few years now (about 3~ish years) and I'm a bit worried if my body rejects the piercing/if it gets infected since my mother had a similar piercing and it resulted in becoming infected (she got the piercing done again a year later and it got re-infected).
Edit: Haha yeah I got it done and its perfect!!!
Man, I'm so happy I decided to look up proper aftercare, my piercer told me to use dial antibacterial soap and zero-alcohol listerine and I knew that didn't seem right.
Scribbles jesus christ dude never go there again
@@bigdykeenergy2040 a lot of pepole here said it’s fine tho
Thank you for this video
Thank you for the video! Why does the water need to be warmed up?
My parents are okay with me getting a septum piercing, and are making me watch videos on how to care for a piercing.lmao

Just pierced my septum. Glad I found this video

@@TinaMUFC10 I think mines infected but idk even tho I pierced it in the right place
Great video! I have a question: how long should I have to use the salt process?
Thank you!
Any suggestions or corrections for this?
honestly, i've gotten the itch with all of my piercings. when it's healed it will go away.
It’s a good thing I saw this video as soon as I came home 😅
Never did sea salt soaks for my septum and it healed in one month. Cleaned it twice a day with spectro gel. Voilà!
