H.El Geurrouj is athlete who learned from all his defeats and fall in 1996 Atlanta. Talent is not enough, you need to have the right character and mentallity. He refused to give up his dream to be Olympic medal winner. Great example of a legend in 1500m/mile.

Unless people have spent a exuberant amount of time trying to run a mile, you can’t fathom how fast he was running for a 3:43 time, that’s almost running at the pace of a 13 second 100 m, it is absolutely mind blowing
You're absolutely right. I think these performances that don't look that impressive to the new comer are the best ones. It shows how pure of a runner Hicham was.

He was a true legend on account of his records. I think he won 60 times in his athetic life. This is huge.

He absolutely is. Note that his records are among the only ones note beaten by the new soles. It was so special to see him run.

You're entitled to your opinion but the fact that he competed for Marocco, a nation that did not have any major doping major scandal in its history means he was at least on a leveled field with the other athletes.
