yeah old school Britain was all about appearances and proper behaviour (for the most part), people didn't find it appropriate to show overly bombastic emotions in public. but still I get what you mean some of them do look a bit pissed off.

Several people have commented on the "dead" crowd. Of course some of them are, but many are not, especially the younger ones. This is a HIGHLY problematic song (from Three Penny Opera) since it obviously glorifies murder, but Louis delivers it in such a dynamic way that you can't help but find it ecstatic - unless the theme of the song stops you cold. So it's understandable why some people would be taken aback. Personally, I LOVE this song - so much better than the more-famous Bobby Darin version, which is more vanilla.

As somebody who's lived on three continents and was waiting for my Army retirement orders to come back from the Pentagon on 911 I'm proud to be an American and thank you for your tax money paying for my pension and social security but if you hate America don't let the door hit you on the butt on your way out. Only an idiot sticks around in someplace they hate. Millions of people waiting at the Rio Grand would be happy to take your place here.

They were mesmerised, paralysed and maybe just plain sober.
They appear very impressed to me look at their faces from the very beginning of the video ..To me they show a very studied and appreciative look.
