I ended up taking my panel off and finding the thing that’s moving up and down. It was going down and then stopping halfway. Sometimes my locks won’t come all the way up or down to let the top in. The header latch motor was my problem. Thanks so much for this
Thanks for explaining this top from your job's & experence. It's important to close to stop rain. Using 2 wrenches and a new electric motor you fixed. Remove its fuse before replacing motor then afterwards reinstall fuse.
@@myciaisha8978 It is under the fuse box lid beside the air filter lid. These are on drivers side in engine compartment, raise your hood. The fuse at top far right 40 amp & the fuse at very bottom far left 25 amp are the fuses. Option: If you can turn on radio & set clock after battery negative -- cable disconnect then only this is needed to remove all battery 12v power while working on this Chrysler Sebring
I appreciate the comment because I have a 2008 chrysler sebring convertible my soft top is stuck open and my trunk is all the wide open so as up now my car looks like batman and where's robbin it's hell when a convertible top breaks now the inside of the trunk is covered in rain water
Great video thank you. My latch is locked but the lever next to the motor is stuck almost to the rear of the car do you now how to manually unlatch the top so I can replace the motor? The car thinks the top is still in operation
While you push the open buttong, try to push the arm with a screw driver the way I'm doing it so u can unlatch the top, give me ur email so I can send you the picture of where u have to push the arm with the screw driver while holding the button of the convertible top in open position
thanks for this, my daughter has this car and has the same problem. i ordered a new motor but i read you need a bi directional scanner for when you install the new motor so the car knows where the top is (closed or open) in relation to the new motor. Is that not correct? thanks
Hi, you don't need a scanner cause the module knows where is the position of the top because it has sensors (switches) where it will tell the module of the convertible top what to do when it gets to cetain position
My top is all the way open storm coming soon...it seem like it's jammed the trunk is un aligned ....it was a boot stuck ing the top when I opened it ...but before the full cycle of opening it stopped I tried to close it but it wouldnt move forward...only backward that why I opened it fully...
Check the level of the hydraulic fluid in the pump, the pump is located by the spare tire, there is a video of some people that shows you how to top it up the pump with the fluid, there's a way to do it manually but you have to be careful

The problem is that the rear trunk opens and rises to the top and the wing part comes out, but the roof does not open and I replaced 3 motors to lock the roof and the problem was not fixed
Check where the pins from the top goes into the "holes" there are sensors that tells the motor to move when it touches, make sure the sensors are in the right place or they don't have a short

I'm having zero luck with getting the header lights to move at all. I've got all the trim off and I can access it fine....sorta. The actual header play itself is PARTIALLY latched so the header plate will not lower down

Where’s the video of you removing the black metal housing to get to the motor?
How did you unlock it manually to be able to take off the black metal cover in order to change motor out
By pushing the rod where the motor pushes, and holding the button to open the top

You can find it as convertible top motor, but make sure it's for the year of you car, because the early seabrings models are different
