      5th Avenue is barely Park Slope. Growing up there in the 90s, 5th avenue was deserted because it was only one block away from 4th avenue, and 4th was where you went when you wanted to get mugged. It's so bizarre to see it filled with like trendy bars and hipsters now, and to see forth ave full of glass and steel luxury apartments.
      7th Avenue is the true lifeblood avenue of the Neighborhood though.

DeBlasio sucks lmao, and the fact that he wastes taxpayer money because he'd rather be in Brooklyn than doing his job is one of the reasons for that. I lived on Prospect Park South West and I loved it so much. I miss my apartment, and I miss the location. There was a horse stable within walking distance, there were goats and chickens in the street by that stable. I utilized that park almost every single day. I traversersed the blocks of Park Slope and all of the avenues every single day and you can never get tired of it. I always knew a thousand people as I walked home from the train station. My kids used to say " No talking" because it would take me an extra hour to reach home as I would catch up with all of the people that I knew. I moved to Florida in 2006, I don't know what I was thinking... BUT, let me tell you, I am very happy that YOU chose this neighborhood and that you are about to have the best experience of your life.

    I love the Park Slope vibe. In my last trip to NYC, back in January, my girlfriend and I went to Park Slope to explore some more the area and it was really nice. Quiet but with energy bobling up. And a bit spooky at night, which I personally loved. We went to a café and listening around some conversations there was this guy talking about a movie he just made and was about to premiere, I don't know, it was really cool.
    By the way, in almost every video talking about or showing Brooklyn there is this like competition feeling with Manhattan, but what I like about Brooklyn is, precisely, that is not Manhattan. Don't get me wrong, I also have been completly obsesed with the idea that NYC was only about Manhattan. And even just some parts of Manhattan, like Midtown or the Lower East and West Side. But Brooklyn has its own way, its own mood, and that is something cool because makes NYC richer and more interesting. You can explore everything Manhattan has to offer, but also what Brooklyn, Queens and even The Bronx has to offer, which is not less.
    So I appreciate when people stop comparing Brooklyn with Manhattan and stops saying if it's more quiet or not, or if its has the hussle of Manhattan or not and just starts enyoing how is Brooklyn itself.
    I may extended myself a bit too much haha

      Moving to Brooklyn doesn't make you a "New Yorker", it makes you a transplant. You gotta be born & raised here to be a New Yorker.

    • @SRosenberg203
      @SRosenberg203 3 роки тому +3

      @@JRBKLYN718 That's not true, it's possible to become a New Yorker, it just takes time and dedication. I say this as someone who was born in Park Slope, and has lived in Brooklyn for all 34 years of my life.
      It's possible for people to become New Yorkers, but they have to demonstrate certain skills and pieces of knowledge before they earn their NYC citizenship. Factors include, but are not limited to, being on a first name basis with the guys running your local bodega, knowing the exact location of the objectively best pizzeria in the each borough (Di Fara's, Lombardi's, Louie & Ernie's, Joe & Pat's, and Newpark Pizza), and being able to accurately explain the subway system to a tourist. There are other factors required, but those are the most important ones in my view.

    I accidentally walked down 7th Avenue in park slope when visiting NYC a few years ago and fell in love in one afternoon! So cute, so many great shops and cafes etc... definitely will be somewhere I visit every time I’m back in New York!

    Just some of those restaurants you have shown could be several videos that you can make in the future and that just that area and now I’d imagine that if you ventured a distance away there could be tons of ideas for you to create content on the area/areas close to park slope. Definitely a great area for you and Adriana.

    As an employee who works in Park Slope. 7 ave has lots of stores. La Bagel Delight 7 ave and President street great bagels. I eat my lunch there. Pinos Pizza on 7ave between 1st and 2nd street.. Key Food supermarket 7 ave and Carroll st. Chase across the street from Key Food. Methodist Hospital. FDNY SQUAD 1. All in Park Slope. 1 Negative in Park Slope is Driving and Parking. Subway and Busses is good.

      Pino's has kind of declined in the last decade or so. Da Nonna Rossa, over next to Key Food, is way better.

    Speaking of Park Slope...I just finally went back to Luigi's the other day. We got 8 slices in two and a pie to take home. We were warmly welcomed and I felt that typical Italian hospitality again, that I miss so much. Thank you for showing me that place :)
    I'm happy to see you guys moved, congrats!!! In my very modest experience of Brooklyn, I also feel like Park Slope is one of the best neighborhoods to live in. I wish you and Adriana all the happiness in your new home!

    Welcome to Park Slope!
    You already know that The Bagel Hole is the best bagel, but it looks like you live in North Slope so that's a bit of a walk. Park Slope is full of Mexican food, but some of the best is Nuevo Mexico on 5th Ave and 12th Street, and then Caza Azul on the corner of 7th Ave and 11th street, they have tons of outdoor seating. Right across from Caza Azul there is a newish cafe (opened during quarantine), with amazing pastries, sandwiches, etc. There is always a line and the breakfast pastries sell out early. Take out only for now. Their BLT is amazing.
    Fatty Daddy Tacos on 9th street and 5th Ave is great for delivery or take out.
    There is a seasonal soup place (take out only) on 7th Ave and 9th street called The Soup Bowl. Their menu changes every day but they now have a website with the daily menu. Their soups are really good, specially for a cold day's lunch. The other of of the year this place is an Uncle Louie G ice cream shop.
    Over in your side of Park Slope, Two Boots has really good pizza that's a bit different to the regular NY pizza. Stone Park Cafe is nice, if pricey, perfect for a date.
    I've lived in Park Slope for years but places come and og.

    • @SRosenberg203
      @SRosenberg203 3 роки тому

      There's no such thing as "North Slope". There's just Park Slope, and it goes from Flatbush to the Prospect Expressway. South of that is Windsor Terrace. "South Slope" is a fallacy invented by realtors so they can sell Windsor Terrace and Greenwood houses at Park Slope prices.
      Your food recommendations are pretty on point, though Da Nonna Rossa is *FAR* superior to Two Boots when it comes to pizza.

They pick up, wash, fold and drop off your clothes for a great price. We've been using them for years (located on 14/13 street and 4th).

    Fifth Avenue it’s the main hotspot around your area. There is so many different restaurants and stores. You have to try The Chocolate Room. Too bad Burger Bistro closed down because of covid. 😔 i also think you guys will love Bogota Latin Bistro. Also the Bagel Store is pretty good and unique and it’s by you as well. It has awesome vibes there. Love this video as alway Jon.
