  • Hello and welcome to this video.
2002 Mk2 Renault Clio recently developed a warning light on the dash, started out intermittent but ended up with a limp mode permanent and the engine stalling from idle..
Anyway, enjoy, subscribe, hit the bell thingy, thumbs up and look out for more of this type of lunacy.
    Thanks
    Richard

"Ooooooh Nicole!" one of my customers is big cheese in marketing and has one of Estelle Skornik's frocks from that campaign

My mother's Clio is 16 years old now and still runs perfectly. OK she doesn't do many miles and it's regularly serviced and looked after so maybe that's a big factor, but it's the second one she's had and both were no trouble. Some French cars I wouldn't entertain, but I don't think Clios are that bad actually...

I love the old Clio, this one is 21 years old and still going strong. no rust in any of the bodyshell. a few electrical gremlins over the years. Luckily my lads have me as a dad which is why I share these fixes to help other lads, mums and dads.. 21 year old car is pretty damn green motoring too, took 5 of us into London and back yesterday without any issues nor penalties

Main pain is getting the inlet manifold off while having to remove the air con pump to get to one of the bolts that hold it on.

Liquid electrical tape would have saved some oh la la here. Your sons should be driving Land Rovers!

I agree, I had none to hand and fancied a laugh. My lads all drove a landie as their first car, the force is strong amongst them 😊 HNY

I scanned mine when that came up. Turned out to be the throttle flap being unsynced to the accelerator sensor. Occurs if the engine is turned off while still at revs. My scan unit has actuation, just made it do the throttle and fixed.

cheap pattern parts and / or haunted electrics are normally to blame. Here in the UK we called them Friday cars, they were always the last on the line at the end of friday production in the factory when nobody gave a single shat

I have a spare box of matches I can send you to fix that frog car once and for all.

Ah but then you would be missing all the fun, as traditional as British cars are the French machines are just a little bit curveball. Citroen SM is an itch I may need to scratch.. yes I know, financial suicide etc

@@churchhouseclassics yes I grant you there are a few nice French cars but not many I have a particular passion for the Citroen avant from the 1950s to something about that car appeals to me and of course a couple of other quirky citrons and maybe one Renault

check the engine fault codes would be my next step if I were you. This fault started out intermittent and steadily got worse over time. Now it is fixed the car drives better than it ever has done

The Clio is my youngest lads car, his twin brother still loves his Polo. My oldest lad owns a 2004 Citroen. My wife drives a 2010 Hyundai and as such owns the newest car in our fleet
