@@Bigwavemaster1 yep thats why I included all the oil industry workers. Those on the stand by vessels are all a part of that clog, without them there would be no oil and gas getting to land.
Do the workers under the rig have any sort of flotation device if their climbing equipment fails?
Yes. Plus a rescue boat always in attendance.

Yes. Back in the old days. The fishing around these platforms is phenomenal which is why we get fishing vessels from all over Europe getting as close as they can.
