  • Effortlessly retro in styling, the X101 brings the desert-vibe to the street. Made from a lightweight fibreglass shell, it’s a literal weight off your shoulders. The hardy chin guard sports an air vent with a metal grill underneath to protect against all the debris you’ll encounter blasting through the desert, or more likely just nipping to the shops.

Keep that beating sun out of your eyes with the detachable peak, that is easily popped on and off using the press-studs. Featuring a comfortable and luscious eco-leather interior, and double-d fastening, the X101 not only looks the part, but is incredibly practical too.
Whether you’re lost in the Libyan wilds, or carving through the urban jungle, the X101 is the perfect lid for your own personal adventure. Emulate the heroes of the Dakar Rallies of the 70s and 80s, even if just in looks.

Great review, you have a very appealing and honest manner for this sector without the ‘in danger of disappearing up your own ****’ feel of the M***legends channel. 👍

A year on and I finally succumbed and boy am I glad I went for the AGV, its probably the most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. Wearing it is like having my head gently hugged by Monica Belluci.
And I don't even mind the branding, at least not on the plain colours, it's less in your face than Bell.
Of course in the meantime Roeg have launched the Peruna 2.0 so that might yet challenge the AGV for comfiest helmet of 2022.

Reminds me of an old MDS mx helmet I had in the 80's.

Street-X or Street Cross? Love it and I love this helmet and the colour ways. One issue. I’ve got an Ex Zero and a Bullitt. Do I need a third? Probably not.

Well, looks like you already own a similar concept helmet but... you can never have too many :) !

I do like the profile. Decent price. I don't like goggles, though. Maybe the Shoei with the retractable visor would suit me. I don't like peaks. I don't mind branding on motorcycle gear. I don't like normal clothes with labels, though.
    Excellent review, Andrew.

You compared it with the Bell and Shoei, but I'm wondering how it stacks up against the Roeg Peruna - currently my personal fave, if for no other reason that I can't find a Bell or a Shoei to fit my XXXL head.

Hi Alex, I love the Peruna and it's less expensive but it doesn't compare to the ones I mentioned in terms of quality of finish. For the price it is great though. Andrew

@@UrbanRiderlondon Andrew, thanks for that, I figured you must like it or you wouldn't stock it.
I'm blessed with a particularly big head, which restricts my choice anyway, even the largest Bell only just squeezed down past my ears, out was such a tight fit when I tried it on I was worried I'd have to buy it and wear it till I could find someone to cut it off.
The Shoei I've yet to try, but I've never found a Shoei yet that didn't feel like my head was in a vice and the Nexx seems to have fallen out of everyone's favour so is really hard to find, maybe it was the odd colour ways and strange slogans?
So that leaves the Roeg, the largest size of which fits like a glove and the as yet untried AGV.
What do you reckon? Will my head fit in?

I had looking alot on these helmet. Moto 3 and x101 I choose the agv. Because the shell is better looking I think. The colors on moto 3 is cool. Special the orange. But I can't buy that where I live. And the yellow is out of stock. So I bought a red agv x101 for 245 euros. On sale. What a deal. And am happy I didn't chose the moto 3.
