Excellent story, worthy of a movie script (in the Babylon 5 universe? I mean Vorlons in encounter suits, and that edge of humor...) but:
1. The text-to-speech was not great. Some editing/proofreading/prooflistening would help immensely.
2. Noting scene changes would really have helped.
3. For the author: Another chapter (or two) could have added a lot:
3a. What became of Intercept?
3b. What became of the golden record?
3c. What did Intercept steal? Was it the golden record?
3d. Did the others recover what Intercept stole?
3e. Did they use the golden record to find their way home?
