Customer service for sellers doesn't exist on ebay
I hate the new web design where AI takes over your title descriptions and makes it hard to enter listings. Everytime I type into the fields, the numbers and letters disappear and I have to retype it. It's laborious. IT keeps redesigning and updating and it gets worse.
I recently got a email / message from ebay saying they canceled a sale from a suspicious buyer of a item I never had in my inventory in the first place.
Ebay canceled one of mine also. It was 2 weeks after it had already been delivered.
Don, if you could get yourself a little microphone to clear out that echo your set up would be absolutely perfect 👌

I have got hit with at least 10 "ghost listings" that sold previously and I get dinged for out of stock and 10 buyers that will never buy from me again. I have been selling since 1999 and I know it wasn't my fault.
This has been happening to me every few weeks and I thought it was something I was doing wrong
Years ago, I went through the same thing, over, and over, for months. There were also a few that didn't show up in active listings, but were still available in my store.
Oh the eBay glitches, life would be so much better for everyone if eBay got off their backsides and fixed glitches as they happened. All too often they leave glitches for weeks on end, creating problems for many sellers all the darn time. People are busy enough these days without trying to work around eBay glitches. Customer service seems to be getting worse and worse. Thank you, Don, for the update. Charles in the UK.
Ebay just needs to stop messing with the website. Their software people don't know what they're doing.
DEI TOOK over eBay
It's a timed software bomb planted by one of the hundreds of developers they layed off. I have seen so many different glitches since the recent layoffs.
The glitch of the week for me is searching results are incorrect unless you toggle between sold and not sold multiple times to get an accurate(?) result. A real pain for getting price comps.
Yep been having same problem. And when it glitches it gives me automotive parts ? I don’t search for automotive parts but they show up. It’s messed up.
I stopped years ago from ebay. To many idiots and I don't trust them anymore. Great job sir.

I have had a problem with eBay not taking down items that were sold. It’s only happened since I switched to keeping my listings after they are sold, in case of return. But yes, it’s scary! Thanks for keeping us up to date.
They only show active in your listings. They are not viewable by others. You have to end them, then they will go to your unsold and sit there for 30 days before disappearing. You won't be able to relist them. I've had this happen a few times. Love the background you've set up by the way.
I hate talking about or hearing about eBay issues but until they love us seller as much as they love money nothing will ever change for the good

Something is not right with ebay

I've basically neglected my ebay store since mid -December 2023. It's glorious not being pissed off at eBay’s inadequacies everyday. Selling since 1999.
Me too. Use to be fun to sell on ebay. Not anymore. Missing the extra money but not the frustrations
It's honestly getting depressing and not worth it at this point.
There is a new eBay policy that allows other people to buy items that haven't yet been paid for by the original buyer. So even though an offer has been accepted it will still show available.
Off the topic - last week, I checked my marketing views (organic and promoted) back on February 22nd - and they had already turned the calendar date to February 23rd and 0 organic and 0 promoted views. Another glitch, not as much a priority as relisted sold items, but a glitch none the less. I only check views because the organic views get a boost every time I delete items and sell similar.
I thought I read that your second "glitch" is a new feature. It fixes the non-paying buyer by allowing others to buy the item until it is actually paid for.

Thank god I saw this video. I had a listing that I thought they ended because of the word Carved in it. They said the item "looked" like ivory but it isn't. Ok fine but I just found it STILL LISTED!! Thank you for the heads up!
I thought I was only person who had the takedown but still listed issue glitch. The scariest thing is there is no customer service anymore. I have concierge and they just read from a script and being told to tell you to go to help pages😢 Nothing better than "thanks for being a 16 year seller on Ebay, we see someone scammed you with a fake return, please go to help page for ways we will protect you in future" 😂
Accepting offers will sometimes show as a counter offer of the same price. This allows others to purchase if other offers are still active for higher amounts.
Well it may say out of stock for the items sold? Yet it still appears as if it’s available.
Yikes! It seems like they’re shipping has been messed up for a long time too, unless it’s just my user error. The current shipping options don’t show, and neither do the flat rate. You can only select one option, and they put the other one in.
And we just recently had them combine shipping for a customer on items from two different states.
I have had a similar experience several times. Items I have sold reappeared in my listings and when they were resold and I could not deliver, I received a defect. Customer service would not appeal! Most of my items are 1 of a kind!!!!
Egay been doing that for years. Happened to me at least 40 times. I put in the customer asked me to cancel order. I'm not taking a ding dong for some ding dong site!
The offer thing isn’t a glitch. It’s a feature being rolled out by eBay since December or so that allows it to stay up until it’s paid for. Their logic behind that is to try and minimize unpaid items. I’m sure it will result in some pretty upset buyers though
Who else read the title and said "which one?" I've got disappearing prices, double prices, and higher promotions auto appearing on my end and sell similar...just to name a couple this week.
I just loves the one that i have no clue if they fixed. = that I got hit with. If I have 2 of something and sell one and the listing gets old , I end it and relist it and the new listing shows a quantity of 2 again. Other glitch is old listings that I want to keep up, ebay ends with no warning. I probably have a few dozen items that are no longer listed and I am not going to go through 3,000 or so items to find which ones aren't listed
I'm seeing items sold on ebay showing up again as active listings! I only noticed when the item sold again a few weeks after the first sale. Ebay is a mess. Items relist, items disappear, and it's always on the seller! Ebay doesn't take responsibility for anything.
I've seen the Zombie listing thing: they pulled them down, but they are still listed. Weird. I called Ebay about the sold/still available thing. They said it was on purpose. The item was still for sale until the buyer paid. I don't get it every time, but I do still get it.
I have had this glitch as of recent. Sold a Dallas cowboy deck of cards a few months ago and eBay relisted it. Only had one. I was sure I sold and shipped but with research I could not find the sale. So I thought I must be wrong. I only have my decks of cards in one spot but was not there. So I ended up canceling sale and refunding. Now I know that it was not me. I had this last year and thought they had it fixed. Guess not!
I had a painting I listed that I did as protest art, but it was flagged for some of the elements being against the policies which I didn't really agree with, but it wasn't worth the argument to me really. But just like you said, it was still active when I went to check on the listings and I deleted it myself. And it was several hours after the notification. Until you just mentioned it here, it went under my radar.
Happened today on some reel to reel tapes. They sold, made sure they were no longer listed because I had multiple lots and the last one was gone. Then today they are back for sale and wanted me to send offers. This happens every so often and it makes me crazy. Also it’s difficult to get repeat buyers if they don’t get something they bought regardless of why it was re-listed.
It's the stupid software.
From October of a couple of years ago, when eBay enacted the sweeping changes to store categories and item specifics; I am still finding listings that more messed up than Hogan's Goat. I am very meticulous with my products, but when they added and subtracted and rearranged all that data, it left my listings looking like Rambo just played Duck Hunt with my store. Individually, the errors are very minor, however; it has left large swaths of my store unsearchable and those products have acted as anchors dragging down the rest of the store. The more of eBay's trash I clean up out of my listings - those listings sell - and I have picked up on some subtleties concerning the item specifics and how they interact with the new AI descriptions.
I had 3 removed to a poliocy violation. They are sitting in my ended listings. The say unsold and not relisted. I will keep a eye on them.
The second glitch is a new feature.
Let's say a buyer agrees to pay for item BUT hasn't paid yet. eBay now see that as still available. So instead of your listing showing SOLD when buyer AGREES to pay it will now still be up for sale until buyer pays. In your video you showed a screenshot of someone accepting an offer BUT until that buyer pays the item is still being showed.
It's not a glitch it's a new feature.
I get really tired of a listing trying to set itself as an auction. And this last week i who never set something as refundable had someone flat out lie, which is obvious to anyone who would read my description and photos for 30 seconds, yet many hours over many days I an a victim, a hostage to a liar. Really strange choices made by ebay on that policy.
I got a Adam magazine taken down, it's still sitting in my unsold items, but I can not delete it or anything, except I can click on it and it goes the listing, used to always been just gone.. weird .. as usual it's a magazine that there's many other sellers selling and have sold
I just updated my phone and the app is garbage now. I’ve also noticed that now some of my listings are now showing free returns WHICH IVE NEVER HAD.
Wonder if sellers in other countries are having these issues or if they’re only exclusive to the US and Canada sellers…
Another reason it could be showing back up is your cache. Delete cache to see new data.
wonder if updating the description with "glitch - this item is NOT available. Sorry." is at least an option.
I had 2 days in a row where tracking numbers changed to something that does not exist. No idea why or how that happened.

Ghost relisting rides again! eBay keeps saying "We know no-think!" to quote Sgt Schultz. Then if someone buys one of the ghosts, the seller gets dinged for not having one they already said they didn't have. (rolleyes)
Let's be honest. eBay has massive problems. Yet they don't seem to care. 🙄
What do you do when eBay allows a return for no reason and the buyer ships nothing eBay still gives them the money and they keep the item. This has happened twice !. Out 400.00 and the Items 😢
I've had items switch from 30 day free returns to buyer pays for returns, and then eBay sending an email stating I should add free 30 day returns.

I buy about 20 to 50 single order games off eBay a month for my eBay Sniper Videos, ive came across this before, even won, but items where already sold, the seller was super cool but ebay refuses to fix this. Weird right!
I don’t think it’s a glitch. I’ve noticed all this month Feb that there have been server issues. I think they have rolled back the servers several times this month because either they are being DDossed or some new thing they added isn’t working right. I have noticed within two months that they changed my charge from 10% to 13% without any notification whatsoever. Any promoting items does absolutely nothing so don’t waste your money. They get enough from us already.

I had a magic the gathering card pulled saying it was racist?! The artwork is of a white guy in jail?! But now I can’t delete the listing off my page and the policy violation flag won’t go away it’s been 2 months! Not the biggest issue but annoying
