Love the podcast. Oregon born, raised in Texas. Joined U.S Air Force Security Police in the early 90's got to do L.E. in both California and Florida in the military. Love both states and had great interactions with Peace Officer's of bot h states. I became a Texas Peace Officer and retired after 20 years. No regrets.
I've had this conversation a ton of times, and I've lived in cali and florida. California is the best state hands down because of the geography, it has everything, but the politics are hot garbage and I would never move back
Thanks for making this show. Hope you succeed. At around 1:14:00 you mentioned the bullshit from mainstream media. I’m glad you decided to make content and share your message and opinions. I’m older and committing to getting back into shape. 35 by the next academy. Trying to soak as much real life knowledge as possible in between workouts. You’re helping potential new recruits with all this and it’s exactly what I needed. Stay safe guys.
From an old Copper, who did a wide variety of policing, thanks for having this interview. Funny in the unique "Cop Humor" way, but also really good topics of discussion While many of the challenges you face now are unique, the old ones linger.
as a LEO myself, so many things you all said just rang SO true. Thanks for talking about this stuff, great work as always, guys. And Tyler is a good dude for sure.
The increased scrutiny for police is absolutely essential. If a cop is in uniform they need to be on audio and video. Everything they do while charging labor time is public record and is subject to the public to see if wanted. there are far too many situations where police are doing wrong by dishonoring the oath they took, or violating civil rights. We must keep the pressure on them at all times
Bro not everything needs to be transparent. A personal phone call during down time is none of your business. Only interaction with anyone from public should be recorded if you want transparency.
My state agency has BWCs and in car cameras recording at all times, and the footage is saved for 3 days i believe. Our dash cams activate at 85 mph in most cars
People that hate on California, have never lived in California. I was born and raised in socal, inland empire. I moved to Vegas and people swear this place is better than CA lol
Id love to hear advice and tips from you all about working nightshift and how to excel at night patrol. Ive been on patrol for 1.5 years and work night watch, Ive had 4 incidents were ive loss a suspect on foot because its sometimes super dark and they have the upperhand with hiding.
Back in the day when women and children were out during the daytime the beef and the issues went away the guns got put up. When the women and children were asleep in the house that’s when the men would settle their problems, however, seems fit back in the day that’s how the (hood) used to be and it’s not like that anymore. Back then kids didn’t even touch gun if they did and someone from the block seen them with it they got handled then got taken to their parents and got beat like a farm animal by their parents as well. Back then the saying of it took a village to raise a child really meant something and today that is not the case. Back then if you did something to a female the block handled you and then the cops would come and pick up what was left and the cops would say “ i didn’t see anything “ That was my childhood and the cops would get out the car and play football with the kids all of that is not the same anymore and it’s sad that it changed
CAPOST invented the framework for the modern professional law enforcement officer. If it weren't for California cops we would all still be looking and acting like nypd, no offense.
Good show but bad ass dude admitting to being at 13 year old girl level at life was pretty surprising.🤯 Uber and an assisted living situation might be something to look into. 🤠 Thank you for your service 🇺🇲
Ya Im pretty sure california highway patrol got rid of their oral board too I was in a seminar recently I asked they said they got rid of it & on website its no longer on hiring process
Wow , private time while you’re at work!! Wow. My bosses counted how many bricks and blocks I laid everyday. 30 minute lunch break then right back at it . Standing around and you’re gone !! How spoiled are you?
Speaking of body cams work retail we get Loomis the money transit security guys who use to not wear body cams. Now all of a sudden as of a few months ago they started wearing the same body cams police use I thought that was wild
I honestly think you should invite Lt Lee Mcmillion of LAPD SWAT on here. I have nothing but respect for anyone who would push themselves through SWAT at that high of a level especially in LA of all places, but he has some very outdated beliefs on social media that was honestly mind boggling to hear. I’m just going off of an interview he did awhile back but basically that if you use social media as cop, you’re not humble.
If you’d like to help the channel, hit the like 👍🏼, and let us know in the comments what you thought about the episode! 🍻

Where are my fire fighters at? I've been in fire for 20 years. Thank God we dont have body cams.
Why lol? That sounds like a conversation I want to have
@brodyrichard263 you should join a department. It's fun and then you'll see.
@JamesEast-iy3ov the body cams would melt dude... don't thank God, thank plastic and heat.
@johnquinn4680 always thankful to God, helmet cams hold up. If they wanted us to wear them, they would find a way.
Dudes wearing sunglasses...IDK already
