shot with the heron goes mega hard. great tip about locking the lens and using a stabilizer, it should definitely help things be less flat without having things be shaky. ANOtHER BANGER!
The settings part really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. If you are using the native camera app with Apple Log, you are using ProRes, not h.264 (most compatible) or h.265 (high efficiency). h.265 is much better, and is required if you are going to record 4k 60fps, HDR or Cinematic. This is because h.264 on the iphone only supports 8 bit video, but h.265 supports 10 bit video. Secondly, both of those are lossy compression codecs, so "most compatible" doesn't avoid compression at all. If anything, h.265 allows you to get either more quality for the same file size, or the same quality for a smaller file size. The only "downside" of using h.265 is that it is a newer codec, and that means that it is not as widely supported, and it is more processor intensive to work with in post. If you are not using the native app, then none of those settings matter anyway. Those are the settings for the native camera app. When using BlackMagic Camera app, it has it's own settings.
Love the look and style of your setup… One critique.. Your audio needs work, I think you would have a lot more views if you changed that. Keep up the good work!
Hey Sam :) Really well done. Subscribed. Yours will be one of the channels I subscribed to, in this case as subscriber 268, where I can share that I was one of the first when you hit 5 million. :) When I looked at your subscriiber total I thought it must be 267,000. I'm definitely very interested in your color grading process and would love to see a video on that. Thanks for sharing all this really useful info. 👍
Thanks so much! 🙌 Your comment made my day! Thrilled to have you as one of my first subscribers on this journey and I’ll be sure to go through my color grading process in a future video! Cheers
I was watching your video it was really great and I wanted to see more of your videos but your channel is kind of off just for videos can you if you will have time please make a more videos because you are doing it amazing and we all love your videos
Now, the question I have: why are people so obsessed with cinematic video? We‘re on UA-cam, not in cinema and „tube“ indicates it is rather the successor of TV than cinema. So please switch on 60fps and give us a smooth TV look.
Quality video my man! Keep up the consistency, your time will come soon.
I am an Android user, but I am eagerly anticipating trying an iPhone for the first time. Your video has made me even more excited about my new iPhone.
