Robbie’s death hit me hardest by far. It was the first time I cried over someone who I didn’t know personally. Completely ruined my day and couldn’t stop crying for almost an hour. Hagrid and Sirius are my favourite adult characters. I can’t think of a more pure thoughtful character. Hagrid has always reminded me of my dad. A big scary looking guy who takes people under his wing and always stands up and looks after those who need it most. Robbie brought him to life down to every little detail. There could never be a more perfect Hagrid
It’s crazy how most of us didn’t knew them personally, but still it feels like losing somebody, since they or the characters were with us for so many years (and still are). Will never forget the day when I heard that Alan Rickman passed away, I was sitting in class and a fellow student said that without knowing who he was. That just hit different
I found out when I was at work. I saw it on this big TV, out in the lobby, that we used to have, and I saw that Alan had passed! I knew him very well through many of his works over the years! And he carried it like Chadwick Boseman did, he, did Infinity War, Endgame, Winter Soldier, and Civil War, while having cancer ! They chose to live the best that they could, with the time they had left! Outside of Rickman's home, MANY had raised wands in his honor, like they had raised lightsabers for Carrie Fisher! I heard a while back, from Siqnourny Weaver, who was with Galaxy Quest with Alan, she said several times, that when they do the Squel to Galaxy Quest, (show or movie), that they WILL NOT re-cast Alan's character, they'll do a proper, heartfelt tribute to Alan instead, because MANY loved his character!
A few months before his death, the 20th anniversary Harry Potter documentary, titled Return To Hogwarts, was made and Robbie Coltrane predicted that he would die soon. He literally said “I sadly won’t be here” and he was right
I loved Richard Harris, wonderful actor, I can't think of a more beloved role to be remember for than Dumbledore, a fitting role to end a great career.
Obviously, so hard to pick one favorite actor from the Harry Potter films. An incredible cast of very talented actors and actresses! Maggie Smith is definitely one of my favorites though.
I was unaware that so many actors from the Harry Potter series had died, but 1:25 was the most shocking to learn about due to his relatively young age and the circumstances.
I know that he isn't part of the HP franchise but the death of Jason David Frank (green & white Mighty Morphin' ranger , red Zeo ranger , red Turbo ranger, black Dino Thunder ranger & Lord Drakkon) hit me the hardest in 2022. The more that comes out about the facts surrounding his death, the more it hurts 😭
I know! Some were shockers, and others, still really hurt, even years later! I know, they wouldn't want us to be sad, but, as their fans, we still can't help it!
Great video but what about Margery Mason ? She was one of the actresses who played the Trolley Witch. How sad so many amazing actors have passed on in a relatively short time really. They won't be forgotten.
I've long been a fan of Alan Rickman's, enjoying his performances in Quigley Down Under, as Marvin in Hitchhiker's Guide, and as Hans Gruber in Die Hard.
Well. Ive just run through about 1/2 a box of tissues! This was a lovely tribute to one and all of these wonderful actors and actresses. While my favorite from before the HP franchise was Alan Rickman, im going to answer that he still holds his place in my heart. However. From start to finish they each in theyre own way are my favorites. I grew up in a household that watched far more British programing than American. We got to know a plethora of awesome acting legends in the HP universe beforehand. I just cherish every wonderful moment of enjoyment their talents brought me! Thanks for just a beautiful, but tearful farewell to them all. Without a doubt in my mind, they earned their wings! 😇🕊 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I feel like sooner or later we might be back here again when Maggie Smith passes away. It would be a very sad day when it happens but her ailing health tells me she's not long for this world.
I was watching a rerun of Fraser the other day and I recognized Robbie Coltrane playing a character that was Daphne's brother. It floored me because all these yrs watching Fraser reruns I finally realized why her brother looked so familiar. And sounded familiar.
How heart breaking I didn't know until now not be lying if it isn't a tear in my eye right now rest in peace to those who brought happiness to my childhood
Alan Rickman will forever be my favorite, but Robbie Coltrane hit me hard when he passed. I think Hagrid had a special place in all of our hearts. And especially as his quote on the anniversary get together "in 50 years I'll not be here of course, but Hagrid will be." and that made me cry so hard.
Video idea for you to do: What additional effects do spells have that are not seen in the movies? For instance, what else can the patronus charm do besides ward off dementors?
0:43 You need not worry Richard Harris, I remember you for your other works as well as Harry Potter, I remember you going up against Harrison Ford as Jack Ryan in Patriot Games, playing the dispicable English Bob in Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven, helping Jim Caviezel as Edmond Dantès escape his false imprisonment at the Château d'if and pointing him in the direction of the treasure of Spada in The Count of Monte Cristo. I haven't been around for all of his work but a lot of his later work are amongst my favorite films, and he had no short part in that. Brilliant performer.
Richard Harris because I grew up watching him and Chamber of Secrets came out the year I was born actually it right after I was born and he died not too long after that so yeah sad but chamber of secrets is my childhood same as sorcerer's stone I miss all of them I couldn't of asked for a better childhood 🥺
Not that Severus Snape was a bad character, he just wasn’t particularly one of my favorites. However, if the child actors were terrified of Mr. Rickmin when the 🎥’s weren’t rolling. Then I can only imagine how terrifying he must have been when they were rolling! If an actor can scare his costars, regardless of rather the 🎥’s are rolling or not then I can only imagine what kind of actor Mr. Rickman must have been. I mean he must have been scary. Good at what he did for a living. for a living.
That makes no sense they are sad facts about what happened to the cast of harry potter in no way is this disrespectful. THEY DID PASS AWAY its not like its a lie its just a fact
My favorite actors from the Harry Potter series are Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane, Richard Griffiths, Michael Gambon, Roger Lloyd Pack, and Brendan Gleeson
I have love and respect for all of them. But for me I adored Alan Rickman the most and I was so happy to see him on screen, when I didn't even know who Severus Snape is but I knew that if Alan plays him no chance it won't be a top notch performance.
So many amazing actors have passed away. It's odd how it doesn't seem that long ago when we recall seeing them in our favorite movies or on TV. It's like they are forever preserved at the age you see them in that character. Although Michael Gambon is a wonderful actor, Richard Harris will always be my favorite Albus Dumbledore and I had a hard time with that change. Alan Rickman was brilliant as Severus Snape as well as so many others that did a fantastic job playing their characters.
The saddest thing is every time anyone who starred in Harry Potter will be remembered like this it’s sad but that’s the way of life but will be remembered always through these films.
Comment, I didn’t even bother trying to think about who my favorite performer in the Harry Potter film franchises. Now that I am, for some reason, I’m gravitating in the direction of Julie Walters. Wonder who else has picked her.
Death Maggie Smith died at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, on 27 September 2024, aged 89. She had been candid about her health issues in the past, suffering from glaucoma, Graves' disease, and breast cancer.
I miss Alan Rickman and Robert Hardy the most. Loved them both in Sense and Sensibility. Robert Hardy also in All Creatures great and small, Alan Rickman in Love Actually ... 😢💔
shucks y'kno, when i first saw Ollivander giving Harry his wand in his shop i recognized him immediately as being Winston Smith in 1984, didn't come to know his real name of John Hurt until years later
Totally agree, he was my ideal, perfect Dumbledore. Honestly, I loved the books so much, that I never intended to watch the movies, that are never quit as good. Richard Harris was the sole reason I bought the movie. I wan't disappointed, he was exactly, as I envisioned Dumbledore.

@@gillianhynes7120 he is just so perfect because he gives that old wizard feel to the movie
he could've done the scene way better than Gambon when Dumbledore was supposed to ask calmly "Harry, did you put your name in the goblet of fire?"

Snape only looked like the anti hero, he was actually the hero of the stories. Always has to be Snape.🐍
He never was a Hero.
Can you say that when he mentality abused children.
I never understood why they replaced Tom the innkeeper, big HP fan, but the first times I had no clue who the “new Tom” was
I have to say, I've never seen anyone play a role as expertly as Alan Rickman (Snape). The guy has been synonymous with the fictional character.
Great video but what about Margery Mason ? She was one of the actresses who played the Trolley Witch. How sad so many amazing actors have passed on in a relatively short time really. They won't be forgotten.
Shows you how long the Harry Potter universe has been around! They will all be remembered for a job extremely well done.

Imagine how long this list may be in 10-20 years. In 50 years it’ll probably be shorter to list the people who are still alive.
They both did take care for Harry Potter even Vernon rest in peace

I had no idea that the cast was dropping like flies, jesus...
Polly fkn Gray was Narcissa Malfoy?????!!!!!! As a Peaky Blinders fan that hurts to know
This maybe crazy but quiet a few was also in Game of thrones aswell
Rip them all
Never realized just how much of the cast is no longer with us. Sad to think about.
Favorite character - Hagrid. Cried on and off for days after Robbie died.
Not alone I did to
Gosh, I didn’t realise there were so many..❤

When I heard these ppl died, it almost felt like losing a family member due to how long I’ve known the actors.(not personally)😢
I was wondering why Michael Gambon (2nd actor of Dumbledore) was not on this list, but that’s because he passed away later that year.
Robbie Coltrane
Alan Rickman was my favorite. I loved him in Robin Hood Prince of Theives.
I liked him as Snape and as the voice of the caterpillar in Tim Burton’s Alice In Wonderland

John Hurt. Caligula in “I Claudius”
