Help! My 1019 has slow sleep and I have lubed it. It all looks great and all works except the speed. I already tried to adjust the spindle height but I can’t anymore or else it hits the platter. Please help.
The key to success with the Dual 1019: clean all of the old lubricant from the parts first. I wash the metal parts in a solution of kerosene and 5% Berryman ChemTool carburetor cleaner and clean the cam with swabs, then wash with Dawn dishwashing liquid. Use molytone grease on the cam grooves and platter bearing, oil on everything else. Remember axle grease meant for cars may dissolve plastics!
You can totally change those out. I've had to do it a couple times on units. Just carefully take it apart and have a good soldering iron ready. If you've got it open- you may as well replace those capacitors as well.
Hello to Audio Novice just got a Dual 1019 it was found in a closet not used in years cant seem to get start switch to work well was wondering what to fix or lube on mechanism any advice well help thank you JRo
Great stuff. I had one lever on a 3060 completely frozen solid - had to pry it off to clean and lube it. I’ll have to finish this video later as the beeping in the background is driving the dog crazy.
Sorry about the alarm home alarm beeping. I have to remember to reset it when making videos inside. I have the turntable up and running I love this turntable.
Hello sir , have been working on a very mint original 1 owner 1019 with some one. It has come a long nice long way. This one although the idler wheel is good we were addressing very noticeable speed issues and a loud squeaky motor. Thank you for a comprehensive maintenance video and love that beautiful custom plinth you on it 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾🔥
Thank You Jeron, Maybe the motor may need cleaning and oil. I haven't tried this yet, I had a break that the only thing it needed was cleaning under neat. Hope you are able to work this out. Keep posted on your progress, I can learn from what you do.
Audio Novice thanx again update and we have cleaned out the and done some relubrication motor is quieter and also cleaned and did conditioner in rubbers and the cleaned motor pulley, even touched them up slightly with emery paper. now the speed seemed to stabilize. I ve also noted when putting the motor casing back together seemed to be crucial as it affected the motor action if tightened too much. But so far so good, My buddy doesn't seem to think the motors quiet enough still, so we're still thinking and going to get back to it. Also pulled out another oldie maybe not as nice as the Dual, buts a late sixties-early 1970 JVC nivico srp 471 e idler drive turntable it's coming it's a bit cheaper but beautiful peice they were narrowly going to throw it out! But I decided get cracking on it will keep you updated on it as well
Thanks for this video! Nice custom plinth too! Love my 1019. Do you have any ideas for maybe a custom head-shell or custom arm in its whole? Although the original 1019 works fine and practical I don't like the looks of the original bulky head-shell.
I have know idea how to change out the tonearm. I had to get a new cartridge sled for this one. That seems to be a problem with this turntable. it is working well now. Thanks for asking, if you figure out how to do it please let me know.
Your voice is as smooth as this table. Thank you sir.
Your tips worked like a charm. My 1019 is running beautifully. Thank you!!
Glad it helped. I have another to clean found a 1229. I am using 99% alcohol now recommended in the comments
hey thank you so much for your video! I was able to restore my dual 1009 sk from watching this video :)
thanks for the info... change that smoke alarm battery!
I think thats the autofocus on the camera beeping
Good video, change out that 9 volt now
Maybe it hard wired 😃
Just bought a 1019... thank you for this!
Nice. I just use silicone grease which is exactly the same as de-electric grease from what I've read. I like that as it's clear.
I need to replace the needle in my 1019. How do I do that? and what’s a good one to purchase for it?
Help!

Congrats for the video. I have a DUAL 1229, is it possible to replace the power cable and the RCA signals cable?

Those Duals from the 60s were very robust. Really nice plinth. Is that the original?
It's a homemade plinth it didn't have a original when I got it.
/thanks this helps!!!

Nice job!!! Is that the original dust cover? If not, where did you find it?
Great video but man it’s hard to watch with the smoke alarm in the background bro

@@AudioNovice Thanks, If I run into a solution for this I post a reply here again. Have a nice weekend
@@WACONimages Thank you
Need to move your camera so your hand does not block the view. Thanks!
Next time try 99% alcohol because the 91% has Lanolin in it that leaves a residue.
Thanks very much
Please put a battery in that smoke detector.....
Con la camera cosi' si vedono solo le mani....
Alcohol therapy for a turntable, and not changing a smoke alarm battery…are the racial stereotypes correct?
