Models like the Dual CS505 from the early '80s were relatively cheap, maybe $150 or so, and they performed amazingly well. They were silver plastic, but if you played them behind a curtain side by side with a fancy expensive turntable you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference in sound from the listening chair. They were an incredible value for a really high quality product. Undoubtedly they were not particularly any better than comparable models at higher prices, but most of their competitors' low end offerings were just junk. Dual really didn't make a bad turnable at any price.
@@MiggySanValentin Carefully turn it upside down in such a way that you don't damage the tonearm and take off the bottom cover. There should be a switch that activates the motor connected to the tonearm. See if you can find that and see if you can tell if the wires to it are fully connected, and if all of the other wires are fully connected. You can also look for circuit components that are burned out and gears or pulleys that have come off. It might be hard to figure out how to turn it upside down without damaging it.

my turntable won't power own, it turns on when the tone arm is moved. how can i repair it?
That may actually be a feature. Some turntables only start turning when the tonearm is placed above the record. What model do you have?
@@AndyBHome yes but it does'nt turn on, i have a mitsubishi diatone. can u help me fix it?
