- The Patty Duke Show Season 1 Episode 3
Martin mistakenly believes that the family is trying to hide the fact that Patty and Richard are going to sneak off and get married. But Cathy's hiccups give them away. (source: IMDb)
it is amazing how great of an actress she is. every expression is full of life and energy. so rare, that it stands out decades later.
Patty Duke was fantastic in this show, it was written for her especially cousins looking the same. I grew up with a this show , superb writting, and acting. Th ere isn't one show that I even watched that I didn't love . Patty Thank you for all history and memories you left me with. I can't tell u how many times I've seen your acting, EXQUISITE. LOTS OF LOVE ❤️🙏🕯️🌹🕊️🇺🇸
Absolutely amazing watched the whole show about 2 years ago
LOVE this show! Today we have a white piano and not brown😉😉wink wink. I grew up with this show still watching all reruns. 🇺🇸 FL
"and walked around like a perturbed pelican" 😂 J.R. Castle describing Richard
3RCPro-life-semper1 M - Are you also a fan of Father Frank Pavone?
Patty Duke was so very talented. She played many roles in many arenas, not just comedy. The original Helen Keller, when she was but ten.
She also came out to the public with disclosure of severe mental illness. She played Cybal, in the movie of the same name. Depression and a very tough childhood made her the woman she is. Strong. Talented. Defiant and kind.
What a person.
M. Il.
Sally Field played SYBIL, not Patty Duke.
Now we get to hear all the crazy that Hollywood has put actors through. I want it ALL to come out and soon. I don't have too many more years to wait. You'll find some very interesting things cgi and fraud related at the YT channel of Greg Bradford. YT will probably block me on this.
@@Soapking1965 I thought so.
I always laugh at the theme song, when it gets to "A hot dog makes her lose control!" Talk about a cheap date.
A dream date, would suggest.
Hot rod not dog. Sigh.
It is definitely hot dog!
the mother always looked like she just got back from Elizabeth Arden
She was stunning!
@@mariantreber8055 My father was so in love with Jean Byron that it was ridiculous! Mom got just a bit tired of his constant comments about her beauty, lol!
Didn't all the mothers in the tv shows of this era look that way? Can't help feeling sorry for the women of this time - seeing all of those perfect looking/acting dames on their tv sets and in their magazines must have been enough to make them feel awful about how they didn't measure up...and it seemed like NO ONE dismissed it as phony and illusory at the time.
Do we have Gremlins in the Computer? Every time we get to the song, it becomes muffled.
Copyright laws.
Cathy and Richard seemed to be exclusive then Patty would get love sick over a boy she just met but poor goofy Richard would wait it out .
Or man, like the French Teacher!
ANNA "PATTY" DUKE SAID SHE RELATED TO CATHY NOT PATTY LANE IN REAL LIFE. THE PRODUCER WILLIAM ASHER WAS MARRIED TO BEWITCHED ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY IN REAL LIFE
Why all Caps?

@18:29..."the next seven years"...he died 7 years after this episode.
Who "died 7 years after this episode"?
@@MrMenefrego1 The cabin renter who John McGiver and William Schallert was talking to @18:29. McGiver said he'd be spending the "next seven years, but the man died soon thereafter.
@24:22...this another overwhelming "goof" where we can see that "Cathy" is being played by a stand-in.
From that angle, it is impossible to determine the identity of the actress; it's no "goof."
@@MrMenefrego1 lf you and l continue our dialogues, we could argue back and forth as if we were brothers....😁😁😁.
@@MrMenefrego1 l can see it plainly.
7:27 hiccups
Its like the parent trap all over again.
This Richard guy looks exactly like Steve Stifler from American Pie. It's scary.
you can tell by the BBQ scene that the girl is a stand-in
And?
I love Cathy but hate patty.
A tv sitcom comedy addressing teenage marriage in America back then is smart tv. Blame the parents is right! Teenage marriage is still going on in this country but child marriage is so secret in this country well over teenage marriages. I wonder what the percent is now in 2019 on teenage marriages from the 30 percent Patty's father talks about back then. I wonder who wrote the script for this episode and why did they address the issue on national television and did it make an impact on the teens watching the show back then.
I'd say nobody took it seriously. ..it's a comedy. Lots of teens were ready to get get married in their early twenties because people were more mature back then. Life was a lot more simple and fun, too. Now, everyone is crazy and stressed. Monsters have tried to subvert everything.
@@mariantreber8055 Who are the "Monsters"?
@@mariantreber8055 None of that is true, just myths.
