This Bow has some serious Secrets! made by Wolfgang in Germany

  • Today I show you a Turkish bow from Wolfgang, a German engineer.
He wanted to have a short bow with long draw, moderate poundage and takedown. As he did not find anything in the market, he started to build one by himself. I am testing two versions and they are really close to the final product. Right now Wolfgang does this in his free time, so he for sure cannot handle many orders. It is just amazing, when someone really puts some thought to a problem and what the result can be. Maybe a bit down the road we will be able to setup a small production line for this “Eierlegende Wollmilchsau” :)

Always a treat to see the products of innovative builders. Looking forward to seeing this bow becoming available! Awesome!!! Thanks to both Wolfgang and Armin for sharing this with all of us!!!👍🏻🏹🎯

Thats really surprising, didnt know that this Stecksystem is even possible, not to mention my face when i saw that arrow. just wow.
the transport is for me a big point, its often a bit difficult without a car to carry the stuff comfortably but this Bow checks all my boxes.
Black, longdraw and easy disassembly: i think, this would be a hit on the market, no doubt.

Takedown riser made by molding metal pipes! It is a take-down coupling that guarantees rigidity and creates an extremely narrow arrow pass. The bow is modern and practical. also amazing performance... I'm looking forward to the finished work.
Personally, I hope the riser has a leather cover option. Metal is too cold in winter. And for the two-piece arrow, the insert insertion method already exists, but it is not satisfactory. I hope It is convenient to recover the arrow from the target, and it is safe even if the connection is a little loose.

  • @VladMcMerlin

The bow looks kind of Turkish-Assyrian mix, and Wow, with that draw length and the speed of 187 it's a real wonder!

  • @tiobi6633
    @tiobi6633 Рік тому +2

I'm not sure I got the view right, but for me it looked like that the arrowpass is actually in the canter of the handle, what makes the bow itself an assimetrical one. If so, the performance should be even more top compared to 'regular' built bows, since the arrow gets the full power from the string's geometrical center. If this is truly so, I'd go for it for sure.
But even so, it's a really good concept and craft, thumbs up for the builder.

I have a bow wich i made from a fishing rod. Is a slow and long time process, because you have to cut a telescopic fishing rod in half, take every segment and glue it in the bigger one and so on untill you form a solid semi circle, then you have to tiler it and that takes forever because the material is carbon.
It has a little bit of recurved tips because that was the limit of the material i used
and i needed a little bit of an extension to be able to fully draw it.
I shoot mediterranean style and my full draw is at 27.5 inches or something.
The bow is about 43kg at 28 inches wich is about 90 lbs i think.
It is 94cm long when strung and weights 480grams.
the limbs are 2 cm wide in the widest part and about 8 mm thick.
Is super tiny and very fast.
Is fully carbon, basicly is a semi circle profile in the limb with the straight side on the back and round on the belly, is full carbon and has a fiberglass skin on the back of an about 1 mm, it is literally made to reach the limits of the materials. I broke many limbs trying to get to where it is.
I have no problem shooting it, is just that after about 20 shoots even through the pad it will start to hurt your fingers.
I think i have about a year since i am shooting it, i can see some of the fibers started to fail in the limbs, but still shoots strong and doesn't seem to fail. To prevent that you have to add more material and this will make the bow more heavy, i mean not in draw but it's entire weight, you have to make the limbs longer and therefore the bow even though it will be same draw weight it will be slower.
I don't have an device to measure the speed of the arrows. But is fast, and due to being so light for how hard it shoots the vibrations stop almost in an instant. Even with very light arrows.
The limbs are wrapped in nilon wire to the handle and to the recuved tips, a process wich really hurts your hands, but is the only way to make a compact bow from multiple parts. And it takes few days to build one. I was thinking to start selling such bows after i met a customer, work in constructions. And this lady was into archery. And i told her i build bows. She came to me to show me a cheap plastic olympic style bow wich was like i don't know maybe 3-4 kg in draw weight and she was shooting arrows with plastic hard vanes like you would shoot the feather fletching.
And i promissed i will show her my bow, one of my bows. And after she saw this bow she was so impressed she couldn't take her hands of it, ahaha she wanted to buy it. But i told her it too heavy for her. She gave me her number and asked me to build her a bow like mine and give her a price. But due to my work a year has passed and i never had time to craft another bow, not even had time to shoot my own bow.
Thing is, even if i were to sell my bows, i don't even know how much should i ask for one. Is like whenever i make a bow i love it so much i don't want to give it to anyone else.

like music instruments (flute, clarinet...) some ingeneers discovered that the shape and the density of the material allows to replace expensive wood by polycarbonates
Rolan archery is a pioneer and i prefer its traditional recurve shape than this turkish one, but it's a matter of taste
like wood instruments (yamaha), can we consider it's the best solution for beginners, cheap and recyclable ?
    may be!
