Prochnow Auditorium Capstone Structural Engineering of Stage Rigging

The structural capacity of the rigging located in the Prochnow Auditorium will be analyzed to determine optimal loading locations for items such as stage props, speakers, lights, etc. This will be accomplished by conducting onsite visits to gather all needed data to create a 3D model in engineering software. The gathered data from onsite visits will consist of members dimensions, existing loads on the rigging and boundary conditions. Once the analysis run on the SAP2000 model, deflections, moments, and shear values will be used to determine optimal loading locations and quantities for future items.
