The Udaloy-class destroyers have never been appreciated by the US Navy since their inception due to the obsolescence of the sonar they carry as well as the noise generated by the Udaloy's hull. Even after being upgraded, they are still not appreciated by the US navies and allies as much as the new generation of PLAN destroyers, as they retain their deadly outdated radar and electronic equipment. I mean, how do you tell Russian's 'like to have' and what they actually have and maintain?
"I mean, Moskva was an untouchable floating fortress capable of mass murdering stealth jets". You are the first person to claim such things. Moskva (formerly Slava) was the oldest and less capable of the 3 Slava-class cruisers ever built. Contrary to her older sister, the Marshal Ustinov, which has been modernized in the mid-2010, and the last cruiser, the Varyag, which has been built from the start up to a slightly more modern and efficient standard, the Moskva didn't get any meaningful modernization since she was commissioned in 1982, 40 years ago. Moskva was thus essentially late '70 technologies. At that time, stealth wasn't such a thing and the Slava were never designed to deal with that kind of threat, neither to bee an "untouchable floating fortress". These ships were more affordable option than the hugely more effective but more pricey Kirov nuclear cruisers.

P.S. I am from NZ. We hardly have a navy, plus we refused to join AUKUS. Two ageing frigates and some patrol craft. A naval research vessel of ours just sank in Samoa. It turned out to not actually be a naval vessel. It was a civilian oil rig tender they bought on the cheap and painted navy grey, so could not take damage like a naval vessel can. No worries. Nobody would mess with us. We have hobbits and stuff :P
Oh hey it's the fun police from cold waters
video release perfectly coincides with my cold waters dot mod playthough 👾
You should make a podcast about stuff like this. I would love to listen to if during work
U.S. Government said 'Don't do that' and I said 'ok'.
Will look pretty at the bottom of the sea.
Cool story 💪
Thanks! 😃
Hey babe, new sub brief just dropped and its on the Udaloy
Now maked one for my IPad Pro !!
Why do the Russians retire many of these ships at just 20 years old ?
Anyone else remember these in the old Harpoon game?
It is a beautiful ship, looks like a speedboat armed to the teeth.
You should do a review on "the wolf's call" it's kinda like top gun but sub but alot less romantic
Remember knuckling the heck out of the water because of these when playing Red Storm Rising back in the day.😂
2:23 Königsberg Germany
Seems like the Russians have an especially difficult time of controlling their ships’ fires.
That ship is really skinny out DE was 306’ long and 37’ wide
19.3 meters
I never understood how war ships collide in the ocean. Lol.
Russians seem to have a lot of fires for some reason. Playing with matches?😏
👍👍👍👊
Where all ur cold water game vids go?
they went away
Naval brief
"Oo-da-loy", not "Yoo-da-loy" LOL
Yo-daloy? you are going to have a field day correcting my pronunciation. I look forward to more of your comments.
Hmmmm... 536 FT LONG AND 25.6 FT WIDE. THATS TOTALLT IMPOSSIBLE! The meassure for The lengt probably ok compared with The displacement but then the MEASSURE for The beam must be TOTALLY WRONG. For all normal naval destroyers, frigates and even submarines the beam normally is ABOUT 1 tenth of The lengs so i guess The beam must be about or around 50 FT or little more. 😀👍
its 19.3 meters, it was a typo.
@@SubBrief aha. I kind of guessed that❤️😀👍. Love your channel. Im a real Navy lover. I did my service in the Swedish Navy about 45 years ago. Just like my grandfather Who did his service during WW II on a Swedish Small Costa "Battleship". ❤️❤️❤️😀👍
"We had pretty good relations with Russia until 2012"
2012 was Obama's red-line in Syria.
I never understood why we were in Syria to begin with. Never made any sense to me to fight the people in AF and give them support in SY.
@@SubBrief Our intent in Syria was to install a puppet who would allow the Turk-stream LNG pipeline project. Turkey is securing that territory now and Turk-stream is back on track since Ukraine.
Nope, Syria has nothing to do with relations between russia and all the world.
It was all Clinton, Obama should be responsible but I'm not sure how complicit he was.

What kind of a name is that?
whose name?
The Udaloy-class destroyers have never been appreciated by the US Navy since their inception due to the obsolescence of the sonar they carry as well as the noise generated by the Udaloy's hull. Even after being upgraded, they are still not appreciated by the US navies and allies as much as the new generation of PLAN destroyers, as they retain their deadly outdated radar and electronic equipment. The lesson on the cruiser Moskva made this clear. There is a long and sharp spear but that spear in the hands of an ignorant and amateur will still be defeated by intelligent and seasoned assassins with just a pencil.
I think you will enjoy my experience with the Udaloy I share in this video.
What do you mean by, "deadly outdated radar and electronic equipment" ? Deadly for whom? .....Thanks for posting this !
@@nimrodquimbus912 I mean it's so outdated that it endangers the crew on that ship
@@redblueyankee8343 Got it, sort of what I thought, Thanks !
"The lesson on the cruiser Moskva"
lmao except the Moskva was a hull design based on an operational concept from the 1960's, there is barely lesson to learn from that fiasco
Aah yes. The Anti-Sub Brief.
Who da loy?
👍👍
They way the russians are going , eventually, it’ll be at the bottom of the Black Sea soon.
One Russian ship sinks = losing a war.
@@daledykes9253 Aaaah- yes, russia IS losing the war. As a matter of FACT, russia’s biggest most powerful ship is resting peacefully on the bottom of the ocean and two other ships Ukraine hit were put out of commission PERMANENTLY. Do you have any more DISINFORMATION that you want to spread? You should hire our ex-president and soon to be prisoner, drumpf, to spread lies for you. He’s really good at it.

I sinked many of these ined my Red Storm Rising game on my Apple IIgs and then on my PC.
Silex being very very liked US ASROC….PROBLY another stolen technology .
Are you just reading out from a Russian propaganda leaflet, or does any of those systems work to specification?
I mean, Moskva was an untouchable floating fortress capable of mass murdering stealth jets. Same with the feared S400 in Ukraine, seems to be mostly decorative too. So are Russian planes.
I list my sources at the start. you can see if they are propaganda.
@@SubBrief Yes, and all of them circle back to Russia, and they would not publish anything accurate ever as maskyrovka is a thing. US/NATO info on that ship will be at least Restricted or Secret, so I don't think there is anything even accurate available.
@85Damix the only one who sounds biased and mislead by propaganda is you homie. There is a dangerous amount of hubris and undervaluing the capabilities of our opponents. Why dont you take this nonsense to some robot voice defense yt video comment section?
@@jamesmandahl444 It looks like we seriously overvalued Russian capabilities.
Before the hilarious fiasco in Ukraine happen. I would give this video the benefit of the doubt. Because who knows, right?
But, seeing Russians fail, the most elementary things. It's just not believable.

Lol Russia making more junk🤭 they are jokers they cannot even build a airforce or a modern army, their navy is nothing but rust, Russia most successful ship ever made is their tug boat, thanks for the laughter 😭🤭👍
Russian junk is systematically dismantling America’s greatest proxy.
