The greatest obstacle to obtaining a good timepiece should be the cost to buy. If there’s more to it than that… forget it. There’s too many good options out there to get stuck on one brand.

Adrian you have managed to articulate my view on this watch better than I could. I heard about this watch and and almost dismissed it as being too thick from the spec sheet. My very kind AD invited me to just take a look at the watch on the bracelet, it's not a thin watch but on the wrist it wore very well indeed and the bracelet is superb (I don't mind the faux rivets, I don't even notice them on the wrist). I now have this watch on my wrist, yes it would be nice if it was thinner but we could say the same for almost all watches. This is now my watch and I'm very happy with it. I have to agree that the lume plots without any surround are brilliant The T clasp is arguably one of the best available on a bracelet, no buttons to push or link clicks to engage it's brilliant. I hope Tudor offer these clasp options for other models in the future, alternatively get a Bark and Jack strap that I may be looking for for my other watches..

Tried this on the leather/rubber strap and it wears really nice on my 7.10 inch wrist. It certainly has a certain presence height wise, however, it isn't noticeable and the 39mm case negates this well. A really handsome, retro but modern watch. If it has been on the bracelet, it would now be on my wrist.

I am a minority here for sure, but I love Tudor watches particularly for their thickness. It transmits a sense of a true tool watch, which is what I am interested in, regardless of what I am wearing or the occasion. But I believe that your comments at the end of the video are the most important and I wish all agreed with you: we have had enough of waiting list, flippers and paying premium just to be able to own something which is not a limited edition piece. So I am done with Rolex, for instance, and anything else (clubs, restaurants, etc.) where I need to wait and be robbed.

Good points about watch dimensions; on paper they may sound a certain way, but in person they can appear differently. I think several measurements are important in how a watch wears. As many know, that’s the case diameter, lug-to-lug length, and overall thickness.
That being said, I think layering with thickness can be important too. That’s not going to be reflected in the dimensions, but is apparent when you see a watch in-person. Here you pointed out how the domed sapphire glass adds to that overall thickness. This can make a watch appear thinner than it actually is. Additionally, the sloped bezel probably helps reduce the apparent thickness as well. Nonetheless, I think the slab side of the case will still probably make this watch appear thicker than I prefer.

I don't think smaller watches necessarily need to be thinner than larger ones (as people are alleging by harking on about "proportion"). I think the visual impact of thickness is actually *reduced* by making the watch smaller in diameter. There is less watch and that makes up for the fact that it's a bit thick. That's borne out by all the video I've seen of the BB Pro - it looks great to me. Pleasantly chunky but not oversized in general.

It's a great looking watch that's for sure. I haven't seen one in the flesh but if it is like the other Black Bay models then, for me, the actual thickness isn't a problem - it's the way they wear it. I love the Tudor GMT but I tried one on and it's just so slab sided that I found it clumsy looking. Same for the original Black Bay. If the case was sculpted somehow (like a Yachtmaster for example) I think it would hide the dimensions more elegantly.

I tried on both Tudor’s new GMT and they fit well on my 6.5 wrist. Once you put these watches on thy fit like a glove and their thickness is not even noticeable . Go try them on like Adrian said , it’s wears different on the wrist than the specs on paper . I will be ordering both

Hi Adrian, great video! I personally really liked the tudor bb pro and I'll be honest it did not feel that big on the wrist. 😁 I believe it will be a great success and a reall strap beast.

Liked and always a gr8 review A, wouldn't expect anything less. BTW do you know details on how they fixed the date wheel, interesting subject as if it's something that can't be a retro or part fix on prev BB GMT's, I assume it's the later.

I have the Tudor GMT Pepsi which I love.. I visited the Melbourne Australia Tudor store on Saturday before the Australian F1 Grand Prix and they had the Tudor Pro in store. I loved the look of it but for me 39mm is too small. Wow it looks incredible… they also had the GMT root beer in store which again looks ok but not a standout for me.. Tudor are definitely making inroads into Rolex purely on luxury timepieces and above all availability. You can basically purchase what you want when you want it with the exception of a few pieces like the FXD and Panda’s.. Great vid, Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

Nice watch, affordable and available. I have an average sized wrist and the watch I'm wearing is 42mm and 15.5mm thick with flat sapphire, titanium on a bracelet and I dont even notice its there 130 grammes and nicely balanced, so I think you're right. Dont be put off by the numbers.

I don't have an opinon regarding the thicknes because I havn't had the chance to see it in person yet. On the pictures it looks great on bracelet but on the nato it realy looks a big to thick.

Adrian I’m pumped on this watch. I currently have two Tudor’s bought at my AD, and was told it would be “no problem” to pick one up the weekend after Watches and Wonders. Now there’s both a wait, and no watch to try on, except the two tone root beer…. What’s your take on that? Try a new AD? Just be patient? You said the luxury experience is to go in, try on, and then choose to buy/order. I don’t know. I love this watch in theory and if it fits I’ll buy it in a heartbeat, but now it’s kind of a Rolex vibe. I guess we’ll see. Another great video btw.

I really want to try it on. As a lover and utilizer of GMTs, when I saw this my initial thought was "I could flip my seamaster gmt to buy this", than I saw the thickness and thought twice. Won't wear as well as my slim 2534. Funny thing though, I took my calipers and measured my omega. 13 and change thick, so the tudor is only a hair over 1 mm thicker. But I don't know, Tudor's cases are just so slab sided they've always worn every mm of their thickness to me, which is why I sold my pelegos LHD. But overall this advise is spot on, try it before you get bogged down with numbers on paper.

Well said! I can’t be bothered to compete to spend my cash either! Think some of these brands have to remember who the customer is!!!
It is a great watch. Just don’t prefer it over my Tudor Pepsi. I actually really like the moveable bezel and find it useful (if a little vulnerable to damage). But that’s the point. It’s still a brilliant watch and it’s just more choice for Tudor customers.

I wonder if Adrian got hands on with the new charcoal dial Calatrava date? I reckon putting that on a dark olive green canvas strap would be a killer-combo. It'd be somewhat evocative of a military field-watch from a distance, but with the superb refinement of Patek up close - a true stealth-bomber of a watch.

I'm a lover/stalker of the Rolex Explorer II 1655 so when I saw this homage my eyes lit up. But on holding some Tudor's this last week down in Gibraltar, a Rooty GMT and a titanium Pegasus, I was surprised as to how rough the "hand" of the watch feels, how sharp all the edges felt. This turned me off a bit but I'll track one of these Pro's down and have a feel.
And the thickness? I'm wearing a Sky-Dweller which is 14mm thick and yes, it feels thick but not so much that I don't want to wear it.
Thanks for the great review. Enjoyed it.

First I agree trying the watch on in person is a must if you can. I have a small collection of watches including three Rolex watches purchased before the price boom. I also own one of the original Omega Planet Ocean watches in the 42mm size. The thickness of my Omega is 14.1mm. I noticed this extra thickness over my Rolex watches and feel this watch is easier to bang into things. From my wearing experiences with my watches I look for watches under 13.5mm in thickness. All of my Rolex sport watches are under 13mm and are very comfortable to wear. I tried a 41mm Tudor Black Bay GMT and it felt very bulky to me. I used to own a Breitling but sold it because it was too bulky as well. Thin watches that sit closer to your wrist should be the default for something costing thousands of dollars. The Tissot Gentlemen Powermatic 80 is 11.5mm thick with 80 hours of power reserve at $775. I personally think Tudor has the resources to do better but maybe Rolex wants them to be a step behind. I like the look of the Black Bay Pro.

Just got mine yesterday. Beautiful piece, and I think most people that complain about the thickness are just parroting what they see/hear. When wearing no issue at all.
