Ke Huy Quan Gets Emotional After Big Golden Globes Win (Exclusive)

- Ke Huy Quan chats with ET's Nischelle Turner and Kevin Frazier backstage at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards after winning Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his performance in 'Everything Everywhere All at Once.' The actor gets emotional reflecting on his big moment and how it took 38 years for him to get there. Quan also reacts to his co-star, Michelle Yeoh, winning the Best Actress award for her role as Evelyn Wang in the film, and says he's 'grateful' for her. He also tells the story of his other co-star, Jamie Lee Curtis, giving him a globe trinket before the show started because she didn't want him to go home empty-handed.
How a man can keep such a positive vibe about him even in the face of Hollywood just telling him he wasn't wanted for decades. KNOWING he had the talent that he had, he just needed the opportunity.
The reason why he really owned this role, he was amazing on it.

I've always wondered why we never got to see more of him since Indiana Jones and Goonies. Now we know why. Hollywood needs to step up and really change it's industry ethics. He waited 30+ years for an opportunity again. I just can't imagine the anguish he went through during those years of silence. His younger self can finally come home to him at last. I'm very happy for him. His life-story is a telltale for the motion pictures. Ke Huy Quan is definition of a movie star. His energy is just the warmth we all need right now. For anyone who hasn't seen this movie, just know, Ke Huy Quan stole the show in every scene he was in.

Even if your a racist POS business man who makes the decisions in hollywood. you cant be leaving money on the table like that. shows you how racism or any form of prejudices blind you from the fortunes you could have.

Don't feel bad, got about 20 minutes into "Everything, Everywhere.." and had to Google it. He sounded and acted familiar but I couldn't place it.

Ke Huy Quan will be on Disney+ show called American Born Chinese and he secured a role in Loki! So so happy for this man and it can’t happen to a better guy. I can think of many roles he can play so hopefully he won’t need to worry about finding work now.
ABC also will be starring with Michelle Yeoh. Another round of reunion again. Hahahaha.

It was nice to see Michelle Yeoh and Angela Bassett get their flowers on top too. Angela is one of the greatest actors of all time no doubt! Michelle's been putting in work her whole career including doing her own crazy ass stunts back in the days, legendary. Ke Huy Quan roles are timeless. What a feel good night.
Dude, for a guy this sweet and a guy this humble, and wholesome -- his performance was so out of this world. I watched all the nominated actor's movies -- no one brought me to tears like this guy and that character. His only chance to act and he made it worth his time. Incredible performance in the movie -- I hope he wins the Oscar tomorrow.

But I absolutely love this guy.
As someone who was born in Saigon, Vietnam, more specifically Cho Lon (which is where Ke Huy was born!), I am incredibly proud of this.
The guy did great in the show and it's always good to see someone who was originally from your hometown represent it!
This is why America in this way is more incredible than any other country, anyone here can be a movie star, business tycoon, or more.

Absolutely wrapped for Ke! As a kid I loved his work in Goonies and Indiana Jones and he was easily my favourite character in both! He deserves this award and all the future success that comes with it!
I watch Goonies on the regular and he is my favorite character. He is such an underated character. He had some of the most genuinely funny lines

I am 70 and l am going to check out Ke Huy Quan. Never too late. After too much bad press about Hollywood for so long, this is a breath of fresh air. And these two interviewers are so special too - keep it up guys, never lose this humble, wholesome, gentle, patient approach to your interviewees, that makes you so different from those loud ones out there.
everyone has been talking lately about how Brendan Fraser is a national treasure (and he is!) but so is this man! So sweet, humble, and very talented. I didn't know he'd been cast in this movie and when I went to see it, I knew immediately it was him. So glad that he's back!

I went to see this movie with my daughter. She and I have had our issues. At first, I thought "This movie is crazy!" But towards the end, I realized I needed to watch this movie with my daughter. I recommend this movie, but when I do, I never explain what it's about. I just say it's about Everything Everywhere all at once, for real. I saw him in the Goonies. I have missed seeing him. I'm so happy for him. I hope he knows millions have thought of him fondly throughout the years. He wasn't forgotten. I've watched his movies with my children and now they are adults. This moment is so special. He deserves the accolades. He's is an incredible actor, always has been.

I grew up seeing him as Data and Short Round, and I always thought it was cool that I could see someone like me in these movies. Seeing him again in EEAAO was instantly nostalgic, and I loved his character instantly.

Just listening to the way Ke talks, that altogether it hasn’t changed much at all over all these years…I feel transported back to Temple of Doom and The Goonies. As soon as I heard his voice. I immediately recognized he played in the Goonies, and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. My ears perked up and a big o'l smile came out, when I heard him in the movie Everything, Everywhere All At Once. Great movie.
Ke is literally the humblest lil bean of joy and I love him so much. He deserves everything good in this entire world. I couldn’t imagine any other person playing Waymond. Both the character and actor mean so much to me as a young Asian American and it fills me with such profound rejoice that the older generation is also getting their chance to shine. A large part of me wants to sit in my anguish towards Hollywood for making our aunties and uncles wait this long, but after seeing Ke’s pure happiness and sense of triumph, I think I’ll spend more time celebrating these momentous wins.

This man was in two of my favourite, most fun-to-watch, movies and roles when I was a kid, so it's wonderful to see him back and loving life, enjoying himself, and FINALLY being back in front of the camera. May he have a LONG career still to come.
