What you said is 100% true… but I want to disagree only on one thing… that ancient civilisations were much much more scientifically advanced in some of the fields than our Morden science.
These fields were:
1. Astronomy 2. Astrology 3. Medicine
4. Construction 5. Spirituality 6. Environment.
Also there is possibility that aliens with advanced technology visited our earth and shared their knowledge with our civilisation.. hence great constructions happened on earth..
But due to natural calamities or tsunamis..
Those civilisations were destroyed but the constructions still remained…
Later again new civilisations developed but the vedas were preserved and passed on to the new civilisation which forgot the ancient knowledge… and hence modern science started to evolve again… but we haven’t reached the much advanced knowledge of our ancestors yet…
Also we are not being conscious about the damage we are causing to Mother Earth with our modern science and invention. Hence this yuga is going to end soon.

1. Satya yuga : In this yuga most humans would be like sages… they would not have the craving for human pleasures but they would be spiritual.
So humans of that civilisation would not make inventions to gain pleasure and comfort.. but they would use their minds and energy and the energies available on earth to know about the universe. In that yuga human had the advanced knowledge about space travel.
2. in tretha yuga… human started to have the greed about few pleasure like wealth and women etc..hence their craving for universal knowledge decreased a bit..but still during Ramayana civilisation… their knowledge was used for inventions like planes and beautiful buildings etc… and some weapons aa astras.
3. In Dwapara yuga … human became more attached to the lands and their own family relationships…this greed has restricted to make inventions about making construction of cities and destructive weapons similar to atom bombs etc.
4. In Kali Yuga … human only think about I me myself.. the greed is at its peak.. it’s not even about the family or country but about myself..
So the inventions made would be mostly about the comforts and luxury to individuals.. Most of the knowledge and energy and technology and natural resources of earth are wasted on crazy food and fashion and crazy constructions… which will cause huge damage to earth… So there is very little collective energy and knowledge being used to know about space. Hence our present modern science is not much advanced enough to know about universe.
One we enter the satya yuga again… humans will spend all the energy to know about universe.
And this cycle will repeat in this order forever.
