This was my first time at an Indycar race in person and I am hooked... Was visiting family in PDX and decided to go. Already bought my tickets for Sonoma since I've lived so close for so many years...
Fantastic race really was a kick in the pants at Portland Ryan hunter-reay did a fantastic job we were rooting for him the whole way will be looking for Indy Portland 2019 family loved it.
Awesome stuff Scott Dixon, what a legend. Hopefully a F1 team signs him for next year. Brendon Hartley needs your help bro. It would be awesome to have the two of you as team-mates in Toro Rosso!! 😃👍
Believe or not, Dixon never wanted to be an F1 driver. He tested with Williams in 2004 to prove he could put up good times in an F1 car... And he did. But used that test to get a new contract from Ganassi. But yeah, there's a video of him from when he was like 12 or 13 as a kid in Australia saying he wants to go to the US and be an IndyCar driver.
These are great, because of it, I am following the full indycar series this year,. When i get the time, i do try to watch the races live. well done indycar.
Shouldn't Dixon have stayed? I mean he has a ton of people around him. what if he drove off and one of the guys walked out and he just plowed them over.
Halo must be attached into IndyCar in 2019/2020 somewhere.............. reminds me alot of 2018 #BelgianGP crash. Thankfully, Leclerc's life was saved by the (controversial) halo!
The Halo is not suitable for use on ovals and therefore not suitable for Indycar. A windshield is being developed and will be introduced as soon as development is finished, possibly mid-season if need be but likely over the coming off-season.

What a result by Scott! Can't believe how lucky he was by not being hitted at that first lap incident.
still one more to go, but after that first lap and a drive thru, finishing 5th 3 places in front of rossi i'd say that was the champion's luck

Mark McLean Indycar will post the full race later in the week. They usually do it Wednesday or Thursday.
