This series is a riot! A fair amount of inside jokes and references for those familiar with the original works. But the writing is top notch, nonstop humor.
Haha holy shit. DBZA is one of the best things the internet has produced. First episode is by far the roughest, there's huge improvements even to episode 2, and by the end they're doing stuff better than the original show in some ways. Tons of in-jokes that you guys will miss but there are reactors who watched this without seeing DBZ and they still loved it. Hope you guys keep watching!

1989-2003 to be precise. The quality improved over time.

Oh man, you guys are in for a treat... It gets progressively a lot better, and in my opinion it's probably the best series that has been conceived on youtube
You might also recognize the voice of Piccolo, the first Radditz, Krillen and Vegeta (and a few seasons later Master Roshi) as the voice of Michelangelo in Smite. Yup all the same guy.

The first few episodes are a bit on the unpolished side by virtue of being a couple friends with whatever mics they had on them. But it's hilarious anyways.

i feel she would enjoy the actual series and for sure the normal humor from the actual dragonball series more than the abridged version....especially without watching the actual series cause more than half the jokes make sense if you know the show and some of the other half make sense if you know pop culture references or other show references which she may not get either leaving her to understand maybe 20% of the humor and story...i love how you two for example talked over their quick 5 second explanation of the saiyans cause without that context all series long i bet she will be confused saying what exactly is a saiyan cause they keep saying it and never fully explain it again...
Just to let you know we have done some research on the show itself. We know saiyans are an alien species superior to humans if that helps.

You should know DBZA is not a good one for the beginners. It's a parody which is intended for fans. You might not understand many references while watching it. However, it can help you save a lot of time to get into the franchise bcz it's pretty much like a quick recap.
Well Kai's the real dbz recap. If anything, dbza is just...a comedy version of kai while dbza kai is almost like a 1 minute recap
