I've been watching your tech vlogs and you are so helpful. I wish you would do a software boot camp on the side to help and teach beginners how to get started and learn how to do software. Keep up all the great vlogs.
Just to add my voice to those asking for more content like this. Back in the day everyone was writing their own scripts to automate things, as it was pretty much the only way to use computers, and UNIX was specifically designed to make scripting easy. Nowadays automating tasks with scripts is a bit of a lost art, but it's still useful, and a great way both to enhance one's programming skills and to get more familiar with the system's internals. Also, while it can be frustrating, the debugging part is where one learns the most, so feel free to elaborate on it instead of cutting it short. :)
jello! lovely to see more women on tech. I have a question for you, how do you deal with the fatigue about being in touch with code all day long? is there a issue during your routine? sometimes I do struggle with this. I'm a web developer and learning frontend now, btw.
I don't wanna be that guy but I think the reason your script wasn't moving the keynote file is because you had the .sh file on the desktop every time you ran it. So it would check for .json .sh etc. see that there is an .sh file, move it, then return before hitting the else condition. I may be wrong though.
But it would hit the rest of the else conditions too. It doesn’t exit after the first condition because it loops through all the files. So each file would go through the if else conditions
That was my guess, as well. The "is this a file" condition was the only one without an "else", so that was the most likely place for it to fall through.
Great beginners tutorial. You can also use the 'file --mime-type' command to determine the file type.
I’m currently taking Comptia a+ to break into IT. This whole video relates directly to the stuff that I’m learning. This is super helpful!
Great to hear! Posted this on my Instagram story!
Thank you for transparent trouble shooting! Watching you go through the thought process was very helpful!
Yay! I was hoping it would, so glad to hear!
transparent though!!!! :p
I hope you can make more videos like this in the future 😊 thank you
I hope so too!

Thank you so much! Maybe someday 🙂
Please create more content about bash scripting for automation of daily use.

Well constructed content, great examples and perfectly explained topic for scripting. Nice job, young lady! Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much!

I think you get used to being around code all day
You just need to add *.key to move that file out of the way. Excellent video, thanks for sharing!

@@BABEENGINEER oh yeah my bad. It might be cause the script stops running if the .sh file gets moved mid-execution.
awesome i had no clue bash scripting did that,,could u share the resources that helped you understand bash scripting
Older Keynote key files can be a folder bundle.

great content and walkthrough
Thank you so much 💫
Which keyboard are you using?

Nice video but the screen is far away if you can make it closer so that what we can see what are writing
